The hotel looks dull and unappealing from the outside, but step in and it is Huge, Hard to believe how much space is in there. Very typical french style hotel which as a foriegn visitor is really nice to stay in. The breakfast was brilliant, Didnt have hot food but the offerings were fresh and mouth watering.
The hotel staff found the english speaking difficult but have patience and you will be heard.
The rooms, very basic and if it was un the UK i would not have enjoyed it, but as it was France it was an experiance of local hospitallit.

It really is Huge.

The hotel does not look big on the outside but inside you will find two restaurants, long corridors and many rooms. At the back, with the entrance from the next street, is a large garage.

The lady owner is nice and helpful and staff is friendly

My room was at the back overlooking an inner courtyard so very quiet. The room came with a small desk, separate toilet, separate bathroom with a shower and a small TV had a good selection of channels including CNN, Euronews, etc.

The wireless internet signal strength was OK with approx 500k download, sufficient to watch streaming media. WiFi internet is free but you have to sign up with your personal details to get access.

Breakfast is served in the brasserie/restaurant and comes with some bread, cream cheese and jam, the usual French standard.. In addition to this there was a bowl of cereals, milk and yoghurt.

I have dined in the brasserie/restaurant in the evening but that was very poor and expensive for what you got. I had ordered some warm cheese for starters and the chef’s salad. Both were just trays with plain salad with three tiny pieces of warm Camembert for starters and a hand of tiny slices of poor quality cheese and ham on the chef's salad. Very much not French quality and with some effort it could have been much better. I would recommend that you try another restaurant in the centre.

You are asked to pay upfront when you don't use dinner in the hotel. When you use dinner you will be asked to pay the room, dinner and breakfast in the evening after dinner as the lady owner is not available in the morning.

Msr and Mme Sautet sure know how to make their guests welcome.
Every detail is taken care of, and the food is magnificent - no cuisine minceur here! Foie Gras au four , roast veal in beautifully rich sauce,

An Hotel definitely worth a detour, in a quiet town with character !

We were heading back to CDG and the town, en route, seemed interesting, and it is. We like Logis Hotels, family owned and usually associated with a good restaurant. This hotel provided all these virtues and more. Well located with covered car parking. The owners were charming, but did not speak English but they suffered our very poor French and were extremely helpful in providing information about the region. So much so that we stayed an extra night to explore. The largest lake in France, the oldest timber churches in France and the old port of Vitry-le-François.
The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are large and comfortable. Our experience in the restaurant was one of genuinely feeling like pampered guests. The wine served from the basket, the food which was excellent, was presented under a silver cover as each course arrived. Champagne aperitif was a good suggestion from the waitress who I suspect is a member of the owner's family.
We have no negative vibes in relation to this hotel, we enjoyed our brief stay and if you want old world charm and comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price, this is for you.

A very ordinary hotel with an overpriced disappointing restaurant. We chose a local wine based on the owners suggestion at 38 euros. It was dreadful. I regret that I found nothing to recommend this establishment.

The hotel is in the main street of the town. Although the owners do not speak English they made us very welcome. A little French might be useful, to get you by. The room was clean and comfortable and a reasonable price. We had a meal in the restaurant which was ok, but not as good as some other places we have stayed.
Parking was easy, right outside the hotel.

A good stop off for travelling to other parts of France

This was a very quaint hotel. We were greeted by the owners upon arrival, they were very hospitable. The hotel also has a restaurant (which is open at various hours), the food and service were wonderful. Our room was very nice and clean with a huge modern bathroom. I would stay here again, they made me feel very safe and right at home. Great location, you can walk to just about everything in the town.
