After 3 days in Gujarat, we were clearly longing for South food. We did try at a couple of restaurants but were disappointed....after all, how can you hope for good south indian food in Northern India?
We resigned ourselves to more of fafdi, poha, samosa, aloo paratha etc...when some one suggested Sankalp. Afraid to hope, we gingerly ventured into the restaurant. It sure looked tidy and trendy with brass tumblers and accessories...and also popular, because a large group just entered....ready to party!
The menu card looked impressive and so did the food! Steaming idlis served with an array of scintillating chutneys and sambar. Then followed crunchy and perfectly roasted masala dosas....mmm....heavenly! We planned on having Coffee, but we ate so many servings of the delicious chutneys that we were completely full and had to discard the idea of coffee! The waiter was wonderful.....ever present yet discrete.
This is certainly the place for authentic South indian cuisine stylishly presented....the perfect weekend destination for family gatherings!
