I have been to many beaches around India and this one scored pretty high on my list. The first awesome part is getting to beach. There is a backwater which you need to cross on the boat to actually get to the paradise beach. The ticket from the boat house for a round trip is Rs 100/-.
Once you get to the beach, you will realise unlike most Indian beaches this is actually clean and well maintained. The Sand also has a nice grainy feel to it and does not stick easily.
There are a lot of beach huts & palm trees on the beach where you can relax or have a beach party at night if you wish.Alcohol & Food are availble on demand here.
If you are not a guest of the hotels, in this place place then you need to leave the beach at 5:00 P.M as this is the last time the public boat travels by the backwaters. After this time private boat services are available for a premium.
Foreigners & Indians are plenty here and on a weekend it gets a bit crowded. Coast guards are present and keep on shouting and trying to preven you from venturing deep into the sea.
The water is warm & clear unlike other beaches in India. A fantastic place to visit while on Pondicherry.
