“Great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2011

The place is a nice one. Not overpriced, rooms overlooking the sea. Nicely decorated. Just avoid the food - not great at all. Also, depending on who picks the phone up, you get answers ranging from useless to , to the point.

But all in all, great views, great location and a nice place to stay

We spent 2 nights here towards the end of our visit to Tamil Nadu. Excellent base for exploring Pondicherry and Auroville. Our second floor room in the main building was huge and very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Lovely pool for R &R after sightseeing and good food in the restaurant and very pleasant staff. Excellent value for money. What more could one ask for? Highly recommended.

The "French touch" was every where - very tasteful. Four of us stayed a week and sampled the menu almost completely. Everything was excellent both Indian and continental - no easy task in south India! The rooms in the main building were spacious and tasteful with a large balcony facing the pool. The pool is fabulous.

The only suggestion from my wife would be to have a light source in the bathroom for makeup. The lighting is low key and romantic but not great for makeup.

I am used more of less to the conditions of south India so the level of cleanliness was not a factor for me, my wife however is an ex nurse and would have preferred a little more detailed attention there.

I am looking forward to many more stays there and wish the proprietors every success for their tireless efforts.

An oasis of tasteful elegance run by a French family. A small hotel whose heart is an airy dining room giving on to a large pool surrounded by lush vegetation. The colours and décor are restful and original. The architect has created spaces and perspectives which are a pleasure for the eye. The rooms are spacious all with terraces over the gardens. The menu gives a selection of Indian or French dishes prepared with fresh (sometimes homegrown) ingredients. A recent hotel with a few teething problems some of which were solved during our stay. A perfect centre for visiting southern India.

We spent a couple of nights at this hotel and it is well located far off from the maddening crowds of Pondicherry...Though the hotel advertises view of the sea, there is nothing like that. The sea coast is at least 1.5 kms away from the hotel. The pool view rooms are good and clean. Service could improve a bit, we had complimentary breakfast for our booking, but had to tell multiple people about this to get it.

Three things we loved about this place: Tasteful rooms, clean pool and location. The staff seem like they don't exist when it comes to service. Best to have your meals in Pondicherry town which has some of the best restaurants. Other than that we did not have any complaints with the resort. If you want to get away from the bustle of city life and want a quiet place to relax for a few days, this is the perfect getaway. If you are expecting the resort to help in planning your day, it will not help.

Its the place which is built with lot of taste and design. The place is beautifully done from every angle. Rooms are very neat and spacious. There are some massages available. I havent tried it tho. One of the best part of the hotel is the swimming pool. Very clean and well maintained and the area around the pool is also well done. This place is around a Km from the ECR. Very green and very quite. A very good relaxation destination. But the sad part about the hotel is the staff...not at all cooperative. If you ask them anything, first reaction will be NO. They are not much helpful in case if you want any information about the city.
If you are not looking for service, it is definately a good place to stay. But for me, service was quite an important factor.
