“what a little gem !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

we stayed here at the end of the season in October and we couldn't fault it , so much so that we have already booked for next year ! We don't normally go back to the same place twice. We loved the location a two minute stroll to the beach which was breathtaking. The water was loverly. There was a café built into the rock and you could jump straight into the crystal clear water from your table ! The hotel itself was spacious and spotless with two great big pools and loverly gardens. A bus stop was a minute away and for under two euros you could get in five minutes to Cuitadella old town and what a treat that was. If you went in the other direction you could get to cala bosch. We had a garden apartment which had everything we needed. A supermarket was across the road. At the end of the season if was loverly and peacefull at only about 20% occupancy it really was an ideal time to go . Weather was about 20-25 degrees. We would hightly recommend it.

We booked self-catering at this hotel largely due to the many excellent reviews on tripadvisor, consistent over the last few years. As we were at the very end of the season, visitor numbers were dropping sharply even during the week, but staff were still attentive and helpful. A good example is that the froggy club was still run with enthusiasm for the two English children who attended right until their last night.

We had upgraded to the select room with a small outdoor garden including sunbeds, a balcony would have been OK but this was better. Various items were included in the upgrade, including beers/soft drinks/water in the fridge, a bowl of fruit, two TVs, mainly spanish and german channels, option of a Playstation (guess who said no) and probably some other things I have missed. The bed was truly massive, with room for at least five people, we could just about touch fingertips whilst lying at each side. Brilliant after an argument.....

Staff were all excellent, friendly, helpful, really no complaints. A special mention for Marin, bar manager of longstanding, who was superb, but everyone was good. I can't comment much on the food as we didn't use their facilities that much, but the snack we on the last full day was excellent, and we wished we'd tried a few more, certainly better value than some of the places we had tried.

Others at the hotel we spoke to were similarly enthused and were talking about coming back next year. The pool areas are beautiful, grounds are very well maintained. Two beaches are about a five minute walk away, absolutely gorgeous, but very small for peak season, I guess. In October, there were no more than 20-30 at any one time, so plenty of room.

Excellent supermarket across the road, understandably running stocks down before the season finishes.

All in all, we couldn't have wished for more.

Room Tip: Self catering still had fantastic room service. It was a quiet time of year, but we think that bloc...

Had a lovely, relaxing stay at the prinsotel. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The level of cleanliness was of a high standard and staff were all friendly and helpful. Would love to go again and would recommend to others.went self catering so did not use the restaurant so cannot comment on it.

This hotel although only advertised as 3 stars was definitely more than that. The staff were very helpful, rooms were perfect and very clean. The hotel is set in a residential area so it was very quiet which was perfect for this break. We stayed bed and breakfast and there was a very good choice every day. Entertainment was good each evening and finished at 11.00pm and everything was quiet by midnight which suited us. As we were at the end of the season it was very quiet, the weather was perfect for walking and for swimming in the sea. Would definitely recommend Prinsotel La Caleta for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the pool so didn't get any sun so choosing a room on the road side loo...

Everything positive you have read about the Prinsotel is true clean, good staff, quiet. We only had breakfast at the hotel so won't comment further about food. The hotel badly needs to update its beds, they are dated and rock hard and the sourcing of some shaving mirrors won't go a miss. Like most hotel showers this had great pressure but the temprature changed at will.If you're looking for food restaurants look at the area round the cove. All in all a good hotel

Room Tip: part of block 5 faces the main road ask for a pool view

We stayed in an apartment in block 5 on the first floor with a pool view. Which is exactly what we had specified on our booking form. The rooms are well equipped with everything you could need. They are in a good state of repair, spotlessly clean and look as if they have not long been decorated, as is the rest of the hotel complex. The apartments on the ground floor which are more expensive are no bigger, but do have a small garden area surrounded by a hedge, complete with two sun loungers. Unfortunately the hedge has the effect of shading the area from the sun. Not in my opinion worth the extra cost.
We tried the hotel restaurant on our first night 16€ per head + drinks, its the usual buffet you seem to get these days, not great. After that we dined at the Cova Sa Nacra which is right in front of the Hotel it is partly contained in a cave by the waters edge. It has a very extensive Menu, with very good food and service. Take a camera as the view of the sunset from the restaurant is to die for. Opposite the Hotel is a well equipped reasonably priced Spar mini market.
There is a very good and frequent bus service outside the hotel, reception can supply timetables, 1.50€ into Ciutadella & 1.60€ into Cala'n Bosch.
We travelled independently to the Hotel, in fact there were few Brits staying here, most being Spanish, German or Dutch.
The staff in this Hotel couldn't be more friendly and helpful, I thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: The Apartments have more space for about the same price as the twin rooms. Ask for a high room with...

We stayed at the Prinsotel La Caleta mid August 2013. The hotel itself is very nice and fit for the purpose of a relaxing holidays of a week or two. All installations are in good conditions, functional and clean.

We particularly appreciated the quality of the personnel who has been ready to help in all occasions, with a smile and always with maximum efficiency despite the fact that they were full and overloaded with work.

I definitely recommend this place for a family who is looking for a quite place close to the beach without looking for a lot of luxury.

The only point I believe can be improve a bit is the miniclub which doesn't allow you to leave you kid for the full day or half a day if not over 4 y/o if I understood correctly. You would have to stay with your kid if under that age. Otherwise they have a good team and plan plenty of fun activities, games and contests around the pool.

Room Tip: Probably book a room that is not on the swimming pool side if you have a baby that should be taking...
