“cheap and cheerful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We have just returned from the Saint George apartments after a great holiday. The apartments have what you need for a self catering holiday, the sunbeds were a bit tired as were the umbrellas which really need replacing. The pool was good and an ideal place for couples, situated in good positiion for beach, nightlife and good supermarket turn immediate right outside apartment entrance follow tiled pavement and turn left and big supermarket at end of main road good selection and not overpriced. We would return and the thomson rep Dan was very helpful. Pint of beer round the pool 2 euros, we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Dont go for a ground floor if possible, apartments have no aircon, your can hire but you have to pay...

Apartment was clean and well equipped. My main complaint was that everything was extra - tv, fan safe deposit box. We hired a fan as no air con in the apartment and due to the positioning of ours we were baked but could not leave doors open due to being on ground floor.
Location is good for resort. Pool was disappointing - very limited number of beds given the amount of apartments. We were up early most days - about 9.30 am to go to pool and all beds had towels strewn over them with no guests in site. We mentioned this to the reception and they just shrugged and said that lots of people complained about this but there was nothing they could do. She suggested we lie on the concrete. On the first day we noticed that at lunch time 90% of the beds were still unoccupied which i thought wasnt fair. We went to the beach every day after that - much more pleasent but costly.

OK, To me, after staying at these totally appalling St George apartments in Los Christianos resort, this will always be known as the three or was it four steps down to oblivion (worse than hell not heaven) apartments named due to going down to the apt 121 door entrance. As your site states above, the apartments are not even known at this address you have given incorrect, but any address would have been ten times better than at this apartment block. This was by far the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in whilst abroad or in the UK, with much more wrongs than rights with it's totally different facilities to what we expected, and one of the most shabby depressing colours for a building which is different to the photos on google maps/Thomson brochures for this season and next year's. Bright white was the original colour of the apartment shown in photos, which was the colour of the apartments/pool area building that backed onto our miserable brown coffee colour apartment that resembled "Colditz".(See Photo) Badly maintained, no proper locks on our apt door took upto 5 minutes to figure out the double latch to get in, front door of reception problems, poor lighting, poor side drainage and grills broken, no air con in reception area, no tv/microwave in rooms, but all this is irrelevant in comparison to what happened to us after being broken into during the night 12/9/12 with having almost everything of value taken except my camera and passport from the main room where we left mobile phones due to electrics not working correctly in bedrooms. Had to charge up phones in main lounge overnight to take with us on a now cancelled excursion.

I would recommend that this apartment should and will be taken off the travel agents books by the end of this year, as taking this major incident to the top in claiming compensation. With the holiday company doing a on site report which they will look into as to the conditions for future visits. This is only the first stage of claiming back money owed to me
I could mention so much more in this review but i would be writing for the next few hours BEWARE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms on ground floor or first floor level with noisy main road at front of building. Bewa...

Apartments are situated in an excellent place for shops, bars, beach and restaurants. Apartments are of a good size but cooking facilities rather poor no cooker just a two ring electric hob, cleaner came 5 days out of 7 which I thought was excellent. The Thomson Rep (Dan) was there every day and very helpful, really pleasant young man who could not do enough for you, (wish he had been our rep on previous Thomson holidays). Could be a few more sunbeds and parasols but there was always the beach to go to (only 5 min walk). My husband and 10 year old daughter spent most of the time in the pool when we stayed at the apartments. Also people have got to visit Siam Park the most amazing water park in Europe, in a taxi from Saint George you only pay 6 euros or there's a free shuttle bus from Best Tenerife but we found it to be a bit of a walk, so we did the taxi. Road is rather noisy but I wear ear plugs anyway because of my husband who snores so didn't really bother me. Would really recommend

Room Tip: Ask for room on top floor, our room was on two floors, and also you don't get the sound of scrap...

Good size apartment in a good location for beach, shops etc., but that's about the only positives. On arrival you are given no help with luggage, just pointed towards the lift and told what floor you need. Also given key to hotel as reception closes from 2pm - 4pm and at 9.00pm. There is no air con so we hired a fan at a cost of 20 e with a 10 deposit - you have to then return this fan with your suitcases to claim back your deposit. There is a pool bar that opens anytime between 10 and 11 and serves a very basic breakfast. Nowhere near enough sunbeds for the amount of rooms so if you don't have a towel down by 7 you have no chance. Seems to be a lot of Spanish here and they take over from 4.30 onwards. Cleaners visited the rooms every day except one but they only change towels or bedding and squirt cleaner into loo, no other cleaning is done. In short, anything you may need is charged extra for - fan, safe key, weigh cases........no help offered by anyone. Not very impressed and surprised that Thomson offer this hotel.

Room Tip: If on level one you hear a lot of noises from rooms above.

well got back from tenerife last night 15th august 2012 now to start first impressions were good but went down hill fast, starting with the bathroom now thats a joke a very small shower cubicle that every time it was used it flooded the bathroom so we had to use the towls to wipe up the water reported this to the rep who tried his best there attempt to rectify this was to make the cubicle smaller and lower the rail this had been done before as you could see the holes in the wall what a joke i ended up showering at the pool mind you it was so hot cold water was a godsend.the reception hahahahahahaha opened at 9am closed at 2pm opened at 4pm closed at 9pm for the night no night porter no security at night another joke, the swimming pool had no life guard on duty during the day dangerous or what.a sign at the foot of the stairs said bar and restaurant both closed and have been for as we found out the last 2 years.the pool area and pool was cleaned once a week they did empty the bins every day another joke.if you are a stay by the pool perswon then get up early as by 7.30am all the beds are taken. the check out time was 10am but you can get a late checkout for 40 euros we paid and stayed in the room till 7.30 pm as we had a late flight home. due to the fact that no staff are on site past 9pm you will find the pool being used the latest we found swimmers was 2am adults after a night on the town i have to say i found the road noise minimul but is a very busy road there is no entertainment at all and the pool bar closes at 6.30pm the coke machine never worked the whole two weeks but the shop up the hill stays open till 11pm. washing machine and driyer one of was out of order for the whole two weeks had to hand wash our smalls in the sink.the hill that we were on is quite steep but you are at the beach in 5 mins walking back takes a little longer i have read many reviews on this hotel but never seen any pictures to back them up so i am posting some to show you what to expect i will never go back to the saint georges and would recommend any other hotel sorry to say if you have booked it then good luck.i do hope this review is helpfull with the pictures i have more but dont want to put you off

Room Tip: rooms overlook the pool and have a good view dont have 312 no bath
