Just returned from a fabulous family holiday half board at Mandi. I'll bullet point the review - easier for me!

- We had a theme room (room 228) - which basically had Thomson the dog everywhere, other than that, the room was the same as everyone elses.

- Room was very spacious. plenty of room for all 4 of us, exceedingly clean. Cleaned every day for 2 weeks except thursdays.

- Our room overlooked the bottom pool and was above the restaurant, not noisy, and very convenient.

- Pool
Very clean. Top pool quieter (which was good for us), bottom pool bigger and noisier. Plenty of poolside activities here if required. Sun loungers stacked away every night and the tiles bleach mopped every night.

- Breakfast
buffet style, fruit, cheeses, hams, cereals, toast, jam, full english, omlette, pastries, or combination of all !! Good variety - sausages were richmond style - ok if you like that sort of thing.

- Dinner
We were 1/2 board, so we ate the hotel restaurant all but 1 night. 3 nights per week there was a buffet style, the rest of the time you chose from the a la carte menu. This would be fine for 1 week, but the variety was limited for 2 weeks. Kids menu was very limited: nuggets, chips, fish fingers, sausages, spag bol. No veg/salad at all. after day 3 my 5 yr old said, 'i'm bored of nuggets now mummy' ! We asked 'Steve' a member of the waiting on staff to see if veg/salad could be included - every night after that veg was available - Well done and thank you!

- Entertainment - two types, kids club and evening:

- Kids clubs, my two were in 'tots', 3-5yrs. They had 2hr in the morning and 2hrs in the afternoon - bliss for parents who got a holiday too. Both kids asked to go every session and the staff were brilliant - they work so hard and I genuinely can't thank them enough as they made my holiday as well as the kids.

- Evening entertainment - super duper dawn has a great way with the kids in family club zone at 8pm, dj stuey was wonderful at everything he did. entertainment was cheesy (but fun) some nights but good others.

- swimming lessons available with swim tim - he was amazing, had wonderful patience and got my boys confident in the water. the 5 yr old went from nervous and with armbands to jumping in and swimming a length with no armbands - WE LOVE TIM !!

- all the reps were more than helpful whenever required, but not in your face.

- visit loro parque - the dolphin show is worth the money alone !!

- car hire easy - we used cicar in puerto los christianos.

- supermarket on site is literally twice the price of the local one.

- booking again for next year - the whole holiday was fabulous.

I stayed here in may 2010 i have kids 4 -14 and we all loved this place. The hotel is the most beautiful i have ever stayed in so clean and the staff were amazing the pools are gorgous. there is 2 parks onsite, mini golf, kids club, supermarket and reception is 24 hrs with the politest staff that go out of their way to help you.
the rooms were so big and clean with loads of room for everyone they have the biggest patio's or balconys i have ever seen.
we stayed half board which i definatly reccomend there is no buffet food as most of the hotel is self catering so you just go to the restaurant and order from their al a cart menu, you can have as much as you want for breakfast from cereals, croissants, toast the usual fry up etc and dinner is a 3 course meal and you can have anything off the menu you like the fajitas and steaks were amazing as were their puddings.
the main rep paul was such a nice guy he went out of his way for us.
entertainment is all day from water polo to quizzes face painting and constant visits from thomson the dog!
there is a beautiful quieter pool if you just want to relax.
the only downside is its a bit of a walk to town but we paid 4 euros in a taxi to either los christianos or playa de las americas which were both very nice.
deifinatly try and have a drink and watch the safari centre fountains one evening. very nice.
the brochure advertises this as a golf resort which it is but you have to be an experienced golfer to play on the course ie you have to have a handicap of a certain standard to play on it which my husband wasn't very happy about.as he thought he could play on the course but he wasn't allowed without showing your proof of your experience. it is over £100 to play on the course for a day.
i loved this hotel and may return in the future.

Ignore any bad reviews that you read about Villa Mandi. Villa Mandi is really clean, Updated & Friendly. The staff are very helpful & always on hand. The room we had was really big even though it was just for 2 people, You could of probaly fitted in a family of 6 in our room. We was room 143 just outside the Kids Play area. This place is great for anyone of any age. If you traveling with Kids it would be amazing for them, The kids zone & staff are great with them. But I didn't travel with kids.
In our room we had a microwave, Toaster, Kettle, TV - We did'nt have to pay for any of them. We even had full air con - again no extra charge.
You are a fair walk away from the beach & town, But it is a nice walk if you don't mind walking. We're were walking straight ahead for our entrie trip & on the last day found a shorter route. Go right until the end of road and right again, Keep following the road until you get to the hospital & walk through hospital carpark - you end up right at the main area of the town & its half the lengh of time - We found this route by mistake. Was wasting up waiting time for our flight home & went for a wonder in unexlored routes!
Overall - this place is fab - Maid service every day - Had no problems with insects either.
A great recommendation is Loro Parque & Siam Park - We bought the twin ticket - Which is value for money. Loro Parque is about 2 hours bus trip away on the other side of the island but worth the journey. Siam park is about 10 minutes away, You may as well have a taxi at 6 Euro insead of walking to one of the pick up points.

I stayed at the Villa Mandi for a week in may with my husband, 4 year old son, my husbands parents and my dad. We loved these apartments they were super clean with cleaners working from 6am - 10pm. Our room was lovely with lots of room for all the family and a big separate bathroom. All the staff where very polite and could not do enough to help. We went with Thompson and again the reps were extremely helpful especially Nicola and Paul. There were 3 pools so we found the top pool to be very quiet and mostly had it to ourselves. If you are considering staying at these apartments you will not be disappointed we are hoping to go back again!!

I stopped at the Villa Mandi this summer with my wife and two kids (2 and 12). We were delayed so didn't get there till gone 10pm but the concierge was very good. The room was large and spacious with a large terrace over looking the gardens. The only quibbles I would have was that the advertised pull out bed wasn't a sofa bed but a sofa with a draw that pulls out with a mattress on and the kitchen has an electric to ring hob, but I could never get it hot enough to cook anything. Apart from that it was great.

The pool was great for the kids and sun loungers were aplenty, even after lunch. The Thomson staff do a fantastic amount of stuff for the kids around the pool from 11am - 4pm with games and music and a game of water polo for the adults (if you're feeling energetic).

The bar food was mediocre and tended to be a bit hit and miss, okay for a quick bite at lunch although for four of us a quick bite came to nearly 30€. And service can be a little slow on night times.

They've also just had a brand new astro-turf pitch laid opposite the hotel and they have 2 lads from the Bolton Football academy who run kids training sessions through the week with an adults 5-aside match twice a week (again if you haven't had to many Dorada by then).

The hotel is a little out of town, but this makes it peaceful and relaxed. The walk to either Las Americas or Cristianos is about 20 minutes to either beach, I would recommend a taxi back though which is about 5€ - 7€.

The supermarket is v. expensive (4.50€ for a small box of Coco Pops, enough said), but you expect this when you are a little out of town as they hope you have to shop there. We tended to pick stuff up on the way back from town as it was considerably cheaper.

The night time entertainment is aimed at the younger children (under 10) but my 12 year old daughter seemed to enjoy herself as well as they had some half decent turns on after the kids show. Again the Thomsons staff were great and did masses of stuff for the kids.

SIAM PARK IS A MUST FOR ANYONE - SIMPLY FANTASTIC!!

Altogether a great week away and we wouldn't hesitate to go back!!

i stayed at the villa mandi from 9th may till 23rd may with my partner and two children and we thought it was brilliant.the rooms were large and airy and the bathrooms had a shower, bath and his and hers sinks.the kitchen area had most of what you would need to make small meal and the sofa bed was suitable for a child of any age.the outside area was spacious with a table and chairs and our room 102 was opposite the childrens play area so we could let them play while we got ready.the rooms were cleaned everyday and the towels were changed as requested.the pool area was lovely with plenty of sunloungers and it was very clean some nights you would see staff still up cleaning at midnight.the restaurant was also very clean and the staff were very welcoming, there wasn't a huge selection on the menu but the food we had was very nice and fair on price.
the entertainment team were fantastic and always tryed to get everyone involved i would say our favourite member was DJ STUEY who was just brill!!!tthe kidzone team were really good aswell i think my daughters favourite was clairey fairy, there was always activities for the kids.overall i would say that the hotel was very very clean and the staff were always helpful and welcoming.
the only negative i would have is the distance to shops and restaurants it was about a 20 minute walk to los christianos not so bad when your on your own but with kids can be a bit of a pain, although a taxi to the town only cost 5 euros and it was roughly the same price coming back.i would certainly reccomend this hotel to anybody who was to ask and i would definately go back,ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!!!!!
ONE PLACE FOR FOOD TO AVOID IS LAS VEGAS IN LOS CHRISTIANOS,THE FOOD WAS AWFUL WE RECEIVED OLD MICROWAVED LASAGNA,SPAGHETTI MARINERE WITH A SAUCE MADE OF TOMATO SOUP AND WE ORDERED A PIZZA FOR OUR CHILDREN AND WHEN IT CAME THE SAUCE HAD CHILLIS IN IT NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY DIDN'T EAT IT.

I am not usually one to write such reviews but having used tripadvisor to confirm our choice I only felt it fair to leave this note. I traveled with my wife and kids 3 and 5, we traveled with Thompson and what a good choice.
The hotel is great we were very pleased with our room, it was very spaceous and the maids were due 3 times a week but they were in every day. The entire grounds are very clean, tidy. The pool and play areas very good and we struggled to keep the kids out of them. The onsite food is very good but you would be bored after a week as there is no great range. The hotel staff are all very helpfull and and nothing seemed too much trouble. It was a 10-15 minute walk to town but taxis are quick and easy. However we enjoyed the quiet location.
As for the Thompson Reps - They were all very very good and and really finished off our evenings with the entertainment. Two of them really stood out -DJ STUEY and DAWN, were did they get their energy! They really added the "EXTRA" to the holiday. Thank you soo much.
I am not someone to return to a location and hotel but if the same crew are there we will seriously consider it.

Thanks to them all for a great holiday
