Booked a last minute deal for half term - Bed and breakfast basis.
Room - comfortable, reasonable size. Cleaned daily despite being told that it wasnt cleaned on Friday/Sunday they even came in on those days. Kitchen adequate but designed only for basic Self catering so you are more inclined to go out. Also absolutely nothing in there on arrival such as coffee, tea etc so first stop is a supermarket or take some small supplies with you. I have stayed places before where they leave previous guests items but not here. Could do with some decent glasses as well rather than just wine glasses. View of pool was excellent and we had a sunny balcony though I believe some dont get the sun.
Pool area. Very clean, decent size pool and sufficient sun beds. Yes sun beds are only made available at 10am but the sun isnt really up properly till then. Never had an issue with getting one and putting it in a sunny spot. Also when people leave their rubber rings etc the hotel appear to keep them for everybody's use which is nice to see. Pool is cold but no worse than any others over here. There is a bar during the day which serves basic food, drinks and has ice cream but it seems to shut early evening - prefer this as there are plenty of other bars to frequent and it meant there was little noise.
Food - breakfast was great, there was a wide choice of continental and english style breakfast items and drinks. Breakfast was 8-10.30 which is a very generous amount of time.
Other - we played the mini golf course one day and its priced reasonably and they didnt care how long we played on it for. There was also a soft play area for under 5s and an internet/games room. One of my group also took advantage of the poolside massage which apparently was fantastic. The lady will also come to your room I believe.
The nearest supermarket is just up the hill but quite expensive and only has the bare minimum. Walk a bit further and there is a Trebor one which is a chain so cheaper.
Walk to the beach is 10-15 minutes depending on whether you have children with you or not. Beach is very safe for children and there are lots of cafes and shops for any forgotten items such as towels.
The Sunday market by Gran Arona hotel is worth a visit but do it early before the crowds and be wary of pickpockets. Also haggle with the sellers especially on things like handbags etc.
