Frankie's, Los Cristianos, is located about 5 minute's walk uphill from the eastern end of the sea front at the lower end of the "El Mirador" strip. It used to be known as Little Italy, but we had never dined there, so don't know if it's the same owner. (There is a popular "Mongolian" restaurant dominating the opposite corner).
At first look, its not impressive, situated on a corner with the outside tables on a 5% slope. (Inside's on the level!)
However if you are looking for a welcome, good food, nicely prepared, decent portions and good value, Frankie's is hard to beat.
The menu is quite standard, from steaks to seafood to pasta so there's something for everyone.
When we visited, in low season, we had 2 mains from the grill, 1 dessert and a decent bottle of wine...under 20 euros!
But its the host who is the main attraction. A cheery garrulous laff a minute charmer who welcomed us like old friends and somehow managed to wait on and laugh and joke with about 20 diners on his own. Don't ask me his name - when asked, he said "Speedy Gonzales!"
Background music was Sinatra and Elvis on a loop.... but it worked.
The are a number of good restaurants in the area, and Frankie's holds its own with the best of them.
