“Lovely hotel, with great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We stayed for a week at the beginning of May 2013 as a couple.

Short transfer from the airport, and really well equipped for children.

Room was a good size, and kept very clean by the maids. The general standard of cleanliness in the hotel was above average, and there were always staff tending to the communal areas.

Food in the main restaurant was excellent. Always good quality and plenty of choice (buffet style).

We visited the Mexican A la carte restaurant, but were disappointed with the poor service, and chose not to try the Italian a la carte because of this. There weren't many Mexican choices on the menu (as we expected there would be!), and the whole experience was Not enjoyable. From the start, the staff didn't have us booked in( even though our rep did this for us) resulting in an awkward wait in the entrance hall, after being shown to a table, then collected back!

Good facilities overall in terms of gym, spa, tennis courts and pools (all of which we used).

There is a bus stop just outside the entrance to the hotel, and we found it very easy to catch the bus into Ibiza town (around 15 minute journey), for about 1.80 euros.

Lovely holiday, and we would definitely return.

Just returned from a 3 night girlie weekend to ibiza and stayed here. It was everything we wanted and more, close to airport but without too much noise, staff amazingly helpful and friendly. We were able to leave our cases when we arrived at 10am and could use all the facilities and eat and drink what we wanted til check-in at 2pm. Likewise day we left although not leaving hotel til midnight we were able to leave our all-in bands on. Rooms plenty big enough and immaculately clean. Pool areas well maintained. Food excellent, fresh and plenty of variety, and drinks, well best cocktails I've ever had in an all inclusive hotel. Entertainment staff, Reuben in particularly very lovely and kept us amused. They all work so hard. We weren't looking for entertainment as we'd left our children at home but what we saw was organised well, the Michael Jackson night was very professional. If I had one point to make it would be to recommend the hotel offered an airport taxi service. Taxis were notoriously unreliable and although ordered by reception didn't turn up when they should, not a worry when going to a bar or club but when waiting to get to the airport and they are 40 mins late a little nerve wracking. Could the hotel look into this possibility perhaps? 5 stars Grand Palladium, we will definitely return!!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Visited every year since 2009. We initially visited this hotel in August 2009 and thought the accommodation was fabulous but our holiday was marred by a group of French teenagers who visit every August and take over the hotel - steal peoples towels and are very rude. We then visited in June 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Whilst I have been interested to read other guests comments I would be interested in how many of them actually took part in the day time activities that were organised as I do. I have found that for the last two years these have been few and far between. From a sunbathers point of view it would seem that there is plenty going on as the entertainers are like buses. You don't see one for ages and then four come along at once and make their presence known around the swimming pool area. Unfortunately this is often to hand out fruit and advertise the evening entertainment. When they do plan an activity you want to do it will clash with another you want to do or if you played darts there were hardly anyone else wanting to play as it clashed with water volley ball. They don't always stick to the advertised programme either and sometimes it seems do as they please.I am retired and was actually bored. If you want good food, accommodation, reasonable evening entertainment, unlimited drinks till 1am and just to laze around then this is the place for you but if you go expecting wonderful day times games and activities then may be not. I for one will not be returning. Please note that although there is a beach bar where you can usually eat a late breakfast and lunch this is sometimes closed as it is used for private functions - it was closed for four days whilst we were there Wed - Sun. Also the weekly evening beach party BBQ and disco was cancelled as it was also being used for a private party. THIS IS AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY - WHICH DOES NOT JUST MEAN FOOD & DRINK. Bar and restaurant staff are fabulous...pity the others can't be the same........

Room Tip: Block 4 facing quiet pool are nice

Dear Lynda,

First at all, we would like to thank you for leaving your opinion. We regret that your stay was not to your satisfaction and kindly accept our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences caused.

In relation to your comment about the late breakfast and BBQ party at beach bar it should be made clear that the beach bar is available for private functions and the late breakfast is recolocated at La Sal restaurant which it does not mean that the service was cancelled. The BBQ party is an extra service we usually offer but it is not a service included in our program which depends on the availability of the Beach Bar.

Once again, accept our apologies if there was a misunderstanding with the services that we offer. I hope we have solved this problem and hope to welcome you next year again.

Kind regards,

We stayed at the Grand palladium for 1 week at the beginning of June. A party of 8 including 3 generations:my parents, me and my husband and 4 teenage children. The hotel is first class, we had a wonderful holiday. The young reps made the holiday for the teenagers always enthusiastic and keen to involve them in all the sports and activities on offer. Big thank you to Kim, Nacho, Harry, Alba, Ruben and Lucy for making it such a memorable stay particularly for the teenagers. The evening entertainment was fun and catered for all age groups. My mum and I did yoga every morning beside the pool in the sunshine - a lovely start to the day. There were many activities to get involved with aqua aerobics, yoga, beach volleyball, football, water polo, archery, and many more. The food was fantastic, although we of course ate far too much. The breakfasts were an endless feast of full English, pancakes, pastries, cereals, and fresh fruit. For lunch we liked to go to the beach bar and have paella over looking a beautiful beach it was fab! Evening we tried the two restaurants we preferred the Italian but they were both good. The rooms were of a high standard with a lovely balcony, restocked fridge with cans of fizzy and water. We had one trip to Formenturer, a beautiful island about a 40 min ferry ride away. It was well worth a visit, we hired a car and explored the beautiful beaches, restaurants and hippy market. Also we took the teenagers to the waterpark which was ok but better for smaller children but they had fun for an hour! Not cheap though. The pools were lovely and clean. The whole hotel was very well maintained. We had a fantastic holiday I would highly recommend this to anyone. There were a large mixture of nationalities and different ages. It wouldn't suit 18 - 30s crowd but that for me is a good thing! Relaxing for adults, plenty to do for children. Nightclubs about a 30 min walk up the beach or a taxi ride away. My only complaint is on the latter 4 days of our holiday there was a large group of French Jewish families for a 4 day celebration. They overtook the beach bar and we were no longer able to enjoy our wonderful paella and relaxing lunches there. Apart from that which was disappointing but not a disaster we had a five star holiday.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We stayed at the Grand Palladium for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our party was 4 adults and 3 children. It’s a lovely 4 star family hotel which catered to our needs perfectly and we’re planning on booking for longer next year.

Things that were good:

Spotlessly clean
Wide selection of good quality food
Good selection of branded and alcoholic drinks (we were thinking that the alcoholic drinks may be on the weak side but they absolutely were not)
Excellent, friendly service (with only a couple of exceptions)
Great location (10 minute cab ride to Ibiza Town. Bora Bora beach is literally on the doorstep)
Large spacious rooms (we had a junior suite)
Quiet in the evenings
Aircon that didn't dry your throat/nose when sleeping!
A very mixed European crowd
Super prompt transfers from and to the airport
Aesthetically pleasing
Excellent Kids Club
Gorgeous and reasonability priced spa

Things that couple be improved:

No DVD in junior suite despite it being listed as being available. It took 4 (increasingly annoyed) conversations and me downloading the appropriate page from the Sovereign website to prove it was listed before they would provide one.
The music around the larger adults pool was much too loud and inappropriate in style ie, cheesy techno music.
Some of the staff on reception and in the main restaurant were less than helpful/friendly
No WIFI! Can’t believe in this day and age there is no free WIFI accept in Reception (and that is painfully slow). We paid for 3 days of WIFI but it didn’t work so we got it refunded (although they still tried to charge us for it on checkout!)
A birthday cake that we ordered didn't arrive at the correct time and we had to call to chase where it was hence spoiling the surprise.

All in all a really good holiday - can't wait to return.

The peronal is kind of rude to itself, you can hear and see the way they talk to each other, definetly is not pleasant, and that won't result in a nice environment for the host. When you get to the lobby to check in, you come with ilusion to have a very nice time, but when the receptionist begins charging you in advance in the first 5 minutes of your arrival to the hotel, the ilusion is gone. If you happen to arrive from 3:50pm and 7:00pm you better be ready to hold on without any decent food because all restaurants will be closed. Near the reception there is a bar and they have nuts, potato chips, very limited drinks and slices of poor quality cakes you can get in order to get by. The frase "All inclusive" should not be used with pride by this hotel. Don't be surprised if you get more than five "It is not included" in a single day. The hotel counts with free Wifi with a speed connection of the late 90's. But only in the lobby. Trust me, it is very slow, but you can pay 6 Eur per hour to have Wifi in your room. It seems they have found a way to save energy every night, because the Air conditioner works fine during the day, but in the middle of the night the compressor stops working, you will notice it. The food is just fine, but 3 days eating here will make you feel sick and you won't have any desire to eat anymore. If you want to share feedback, look at me, I had to look for alternative ways because they don't want you to know this.

Had a week stay in early June. Rooms good and comfortable, with the bonus of being spotlessly clean and well maintained.

Didn't have to queue for meals, drinks, sunbeds or service in general. All the staff were refreshingly helpful.

Food was a little repetitive, but the variety was generally good enough to negate this. You won't go hungry!

There is plenty of space for lounging round the pool or eating or drinking.

Deserves an excellent rating.
