“A unique location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Cesar Manrique built his beautiful home and workshop on and also within the volcanic lava just to the north of Arrecife. It is a fine insight into the work and philosophy of Lanzarote's most famous man and should not be missed. The foundation set up after his death have done an excellent job adapting the house to make it suitable for visitors and to display examples of his work.

“What an experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

This is such a great place to visit. We took an express tour which lasted about two hours. Plenty as its quite close to Puerto Del Carmen. The house is amazing and I was very inspired this Cesar Manrique's vision and talent. What a tragic loss but for Lanzarote he is a hero as he opposed the Politicians in their quest to build high rise and he won.

“Well worth a visit!!!”

What a beautiful house, great insight into his work. It is worthwhile buying the group ticket that allows you to see the other delights of his work.

“Art meets nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

manrique loved his native island, Lanzarote. His house is a testament to his vision of nature and art combining together to create beauty. the paintings in the house are particularly beautiful with his abstract work reflecting the colours of the volcanic rock in the south of the island.

“OLD CESAR`S HOUSE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This was where Cesar Manrique used to live, i.e. it was his private house. He lived there!!! Because of all the people looking at his house, he moved to another house up in Haria. This house is built in a "wolcano bubble". It is the only house in the world, built like this. Now they expose painting of himself and other artists. Do not miss it please! You have a shop there where you can get litrographies of Cesars `s paintings.
