“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2011

Have just come back from a week at the Nazaret Apartments, & have had a wonderful, peaceful time there. The complex is absolutely beautiful & full of old world Spanish character. The apartments are basic inside, as befits the rates, but are clean & very spacious.

I chose the apartments as I wanted somewhere quiet, & was a bit sceptical that they could be as peaceful as previous reviewers claimed & yet be in the centre of the resort - but it's true they are!

I wanted some chill time & that's what I got at the Nazaret. Have been to Lanzarote twice before, & have seen most of the island, so this was just a quick, cheapie, getaway.

I asked for a quiet apartment on the top floor & was given one on the end of the complex. I was self catering & found everything in the kitchen that I needed to cater for the week. The apartment was really spacious & there were always sun beds available. The grounds are beautiful & very well maintained. The pools are lovely & clean.

There were a couple of hiccups with no wine & forgotten cleaning, but all you have to do is see one of the girls in reception & it is sorted - no problem! They are also very helpful, providing local information etc.

The prices for food are much better than I had expected & I shopped at the Spar shop at the side of the complex, & managed to eat & drink for just 50 euros!

All in all, a great experience & I will certainly return to the Nazaret in the future!

Room Tip: Just ask for what you want. Simples!

Well all I can say was we were disappointed from the moment we arrived at reception. Unhelpful and unprofessional staff, no local information offered all we got was pointed in the direction of our room. We had a a room with a view over what only can be described as a dump site and a busy road. Rooms noisy could here every movement our neighbours made. Entire place needs painted and thoroughly cleaned. Cheap bottle of plonk in room on arrival nice touch but best put the money toward an extra cleaner. Our room was barely cleaned every other day, basically our used towels folded. We had to buy our own toilet paper as no one bothered to replenish although we had reminded them at reception. Bed sheets not changed until day 9 of a ten day trip. Musty smell in appartments, no atmosphere and pool area was depressing and unclean. Overall very disappointing only benefit was location close to bars, shops and beach etc.

Well what can we say? After reading the reviews, I was a bit baffled en route to the Apartments. All along thinking oh my god we are going to hate it. Well, I was completely shocked to find how amazing the apartments actually are. Really spacious, facing the pool, well maintained herb gardens, flowers everywhere, a lovely bottle of wine on arrival and fresh bread rolls hung on the door every day. Plenty of room in the apartments to spread out as a family of three adults, and definitely a beautiful scenic view, both by day and night. Really quite, but thats because I think its an off peak season, a very close walk to the beach, and the surroundings are really quiet and lovely. We were on half board, and the breakfast and dinner were both equally amazing, even with a wide choice of dishes for my vegetarian mother to which the chef would prepare her meal individually when we arrives for dinner on a daily basis. We thought that was a lovely little extra. Three swimming pools! HUGE choice of where to swim with ample sunbeds and generally all the couples/families were so polite. I tell you what I am going to miss the most, the swing near the reception. Me and Mum and Dad spent the best of our evenings swinging away on that into the night and its so peaceful. I am missing this place already and cannot wait to return!

Now for the only downside:

Reception staff, well two of them are absolutely lovely and cant do enough for you (two youngish ladies), but there is one of them, Micaela, who we found to be rather rude and arrogant and not very pleasant or approachable. She just seems to want you out of reception as soon as possible, and no sense of customer care or service (Sorry its better to be honest at this point), and I think its because we were Indians to be honest. The other two reception staff were so lovely and really were so helpful and both gave us a hug and kiss when we left. BEWARNED of Micaela.

Room Tip: 301 probably has the best view

Yet again (8th year running) had a great time.Always stay here as located close to ALL shops/bars/beaches etc.Bus stop right outside which takes you to anywhere in Lanzarote and Taxi's too. Since we've been there all the rooms have plasma tv's in now which is a bonus and alot more channels(when 1st here only cnn news) all rooms have hairdryers coffee makers toasters and kettles these you used to have to rent for a small deposit. We've never had any problems while we've stayed here as all the staff are very helpfull. We've made numerous friends and even get Christmas cards from them,Great place for breakfast we've found is the Great British cafe(in the square opposite) they even do takeaways open 8am-4pm,The Scotts Bar next door is also good run by a fantastic Scottish family who will always make you welcome, and the Liveley Lady showbar which is just to the left of the Nazaret a fantastic drag act with Karaoke afterwards, all these people will give you a warm welcome 24/7. If you want 5* accomodation stay in a luxury hotel as you wont get it here as only 2/3*

Room Tip: Top pool area much quieter pools deeper too

Dear Sir:

We appreciate all the good valoration you have done from our apartments. About the noise we could say it is only at weekends and also if you are allocated near the bars. Most of the rooms are far away from there.

Kind regards

Micaela
