“A Holiday that never fails to please , excellent as always !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

My second stay at the Santa Arosa , Nothing fails to impress me , Greetings always from the reception staff who are always trully helpful!!! , the pool bar staff and dinning room staff too , omg why do people complain , food excellent breakfast and evening meal so much choice and hot , i have stayed at 5 **** hotels and my god the food here was brill and would recommend anyone to stay half board Yummy !!! , im disabled due to having a stroke but they cater for all and no fear in the pool they have a ramp so no problems there , as for cold water in pool what a way to cool off ,especially when the day gets hotter once in its great !!! , the bungalow is basic but remember its a place to sleep and keep your clothes, shower , if people want more then Id say u pay for what you get and the cost for a holiday there is far better value than a caravan in the uk , dont forget the climate either id rather have warmth than wet and cold days in the uk . yes stop in clean rooms , good house keeping , clean towels and bedding and forget the mod cons , no please some people I can see why this place has a well deserved Trip advisor award ,so well deserved . Santa Rosa Hope to be back next year and thank you once again for a restfully relaxing Holiday , Before I finish the area has many supermarkets , great bakery , resturants and the Cavern great just outside your Apartment door Live entertainment too , great Sunday lunch , great bars and not to far from Bastin beach enjoy Everyone you will love Santa Rosa and Costa teguise ,

Room Tip: I stayed with my friend in disabled bungalow no 1040 , Brill and quiet !!!! south side by pool !!

My husband and i have just come back from a week staying here and i have to say we were very happy overall. The studio appartment we stayed in was basic but very clean with maid service 5 out of the 7 days we were there. The pool was fab to cool off in and there were always enough sun loungers no matter what time we decided to sunbathe. We didnt use the restaurant but did use the pool bar which had numerous snacks and drinks on offer at reasonable prices.Instead of cooking we had our breakfast out each morning at one of the local eateries. Full english breakfast for 2 euro 95. Good food and excellent value so well done Steptoes. Supermarket jst at the end of the row of restaurants and stocked everything you might need. We walked into the town a few nights and ate at some of the many restaurants there in the evenings. The choice of food is varied from place to place and the prices are very good. But I have to say I wasnt overly impressed with any of the meals i had but that could be just me.On our last couple of nights we stayed closer to the hotel and decided to try one of the restaurants right on the doorstep. Have to totally recommend "Wok" which is an asian international restaurant. The buffet is jst amazing. We were guided around by the front of house man who was so friendly and helpful that we went back 3 nights running and were treated like friends. There is something for everyone from the usual chinese selection to canarian and thai with also the option for you to pick all raw ingredients and have them cooked to your taste. 13euro 95. excellent value. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would def go back.Totally relaxing week and any staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for.

Stayed at Santa Rosa 9-16 October 2012. Check in was very efficient and the receptionist was very helpful. Having read tripadvisor a few days prior to our departure, we realised there was building work going on. Upon arrival, we therefore asked whether the room we were allocated (1102 - studio) was near this work, which the receptionist confirmed it was. She was also honest that it was noisy (starting at 10am) and dirty. She gave us the option to view the only other room she had available (1098) but this was classed as an apartment with a "pool view" so we would have to pay 35 euros to upgrade. After checking out both rooms, we decided to go with 1098 (ps it does not have a pool view!). The whole of 1102 overlooked the building work, and there was a coating of dust on the balcony. It was only the bedroom of 1098 that backed on to it (with a corridor in between).

The apartment was very hot, no air conditioning, so after our first night we had to hire a fan at 2 euros a day - and well worth it!! On our first morning the bin men arrived at 6.30am and they collect the rubbish/recycling right below the bedroom of the apartment! Then the workmen arrived shortly after and started work (although to be fair, the main loud work didn't start until later in the morning but then you knew about it - thank goodness we moved rooms). It was therefore not possible to leave the bedroom window open. With all this in mind, and being told we would have to pay to upgrade, we spoke again to reception. As they did not have another room to move us to, they waived the upgrade fee, which was appreciated.

Santa Rosa is a pleasant 15/20 minute walk to the main centre of Costa Teguise. We ventured there on a few occasions, however there were some nice bars and restaurants really close to Santa Rosa. We enjoyed meals at Tandoori Spice, The Chinese Emperor and Oscars, and had an average meal at Casa Luis (found the tapas quite disappointing). We wanted to try El Navarro (number 1 on tripadvisor) but it was closed for the duration of our holiday. Bars are very British!

There is a supermarket a short walk from Santa Rosa for all essentials, a bus stop and taxis. Airport is 15 minutes away, 20 euros in a taxi.

We took the advantage of late checkout - check out is usually 12pm. You can pay 10 euros to check out by 2pm or 20 euros thereafter - well worth it.

Never a problem getting a sun bed. Most of the time the pool area was lovely and quiet, but on 2 occasions there were children's parties - the spanish children know how to make a noise!!!! - and they cordon off part of the pool.

Free wifi in the pool bar, but this was very sporadic. Food and drink very reasonable at the pool bar, and happy hour 4-6pm.

Apartment was very spacious and clean. Cleaner came 5 days out of 7, but don't think towels/beds changed each time she visited. Not an issue though.

Overall, we had a lovely relaxing holiday and for what we paid couldn't really grumble. However, would have rated it 3/5 had we have paid more due to the 'issues' listed above.

Room Tip: Beware, there is a lot of building work at the back of Santa Rosa affecting room 1098, 1102 and surr...

Just come back from these apartments, which were spotlessly clean, but the furniture is old and basic. We did not use the cooker or microwave, we ate out all the time. We booked this 1 bed apartment , including breakfast. We were not disappointed with the breakfast, for 3 stars, the food was varied, cooked fresh and delicious. There was many things to choose from, hot or cold. The bacon was very tasty.
The apartments are really spacious, but only one big wardrobe for all your clothes in the bedroom, we could have done with a few more drawers. The towels were changed regularly, as was the bedding.
I only had one gripe, there was no air conditioning in the apartment, so I had to hire a fan for the 2 weeks, costing 30 euros. I hired a hair dryer and also hired the safe in the bedroom. I loved the staff in reception, maids, breakfast waiters, they were all very polite and would do anything you asked them.
The pool was cleaned every day, but the sunbeds were really uncomfortable, they would be better replacing some of them as they are old and worn. Not many 'brollys' round the pool, people were putting towels under them at 8 in the morning, so if you need a shade, you have to get up early to claim one. The pool bar was good, with happy hour 4 till 6pm every day.
There is a small supermarket nearby, where you can get everything you need for your holiday. A cash machine is over the road, which was very handy.
There is a variety of bars around the area. Try the Hollywood Bar for a really tasty steak, the Cavern is a great bar with entertainment every night, we had a Sunday lunch here and it was one of the best we have had anywhere, real beef! Dickens Bar has the big tv's for all the sport. Also the curry house next door but one to the Cavern was very good.
We went up to the town and there are lots of bars and restaurants there in a big square. Many steakhouses too, the Lighthouse was really good, where we saw an Elvis tribute artist along with his mate, Dean Martin! Was fun.
We would go to Costa Teguise again and to Santa Rosa, even though I would have to hire a fan again, I couldn't stay there without one, the rooms were too hot for me.

Room Tip: We had apartment 1021 which was close to the reception and pool.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at Santa rosa on 22nd October, it was fantastic, me, my husband and 3 daughters 3,6 and 8 had a great time, we stayed bed and breakfast, it was great, the choice was endless the girls loved the freshly cooked omelettes and pancakes, there is something for everyone. We stayed in 1002 it was a 2 bed apartment very spacious and clean, the maids did a fantastic job it was cleaned 8 out of 10 days, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were very friendly and helpful, I can't wait to book for next year! The cavern pub just around the corner was great the food was resonably priced and they staff were great, they had fantastic entertainment on every night. Would not hesitate to stay here again, only thing I would say is that the salt water pool lets it down a little I would give it 9 out of 10 for that reason

Room Tip: Room 1002 is right by reception, with a pool view, but far enough away from the noise of the pool

Just arrived back from our 4th stay at Santa Rosa, and it was Amazing, we stayed in a 2 bed apartment number 1007, it was spotlessly clean, the towels were changed 9 days out of 11.

The location is perfect, with a few bars & restaurants & a local shop just outside the complex, the beach is less than a 5 min walk, the pool again is so clean, the pool bar is great with free wifi and happy hour every day from 4pm to 6pm.

Rosemary on the entertainment staff was great, and really tried to get everyone joining in I really do hope she is there when we go back next year.

A 5 Star rating.

We stayed here from 11th to 21st October 2012 in room 1001 in a two bedroom bungalow as we requested, which meant there was no-one above us ( I hate the sound of furntiture moving on tiles floors, so this was a massive plus for me) Each bungalow has its own patio area with table and chairs.

Reception staff were helpful and friendly - Pati in particular is lovely - could not have been more helpful when we reported a broken toaster and dodgy drain she got straight on to maintenance and housekeeping and they were fixed by the time we cam home a couple of hours later.

Maids there every day apart from Wednesdays and Saturdays.

There is a decent shower room in the gym for people who have a late flight. In hindsight we sohuld have booked the room for an extra day - the prices were so reasonable ( less than 60 Euros a night) it would have given us somewhere for an afternoon nap.

The bath in the room is a bit past its best, and the door is a bit cranky, but everything else was great for the price. It was good having an extra room for our daughter instead of having to vacate the sofa so she could go to bed.

TV channels for Brits - BBC1,2,ITV,Channel 4 & 5 plus Sky news and Radio 2. Plus Spanish and German channels - Top Gear reruns in Spanish proved entertaining.

Lots of decent restaurants and bars in the vicinity, easy walk down to a little outdoor gym at the beach from a path opposite the HiperDino express at the end of the block.
The HiperDino doesn't sell much fresh meat, you need to go to the big Spar for that ( on Avenida del Jablillo)

The main square has lots of restaurants and bars, is a 15 minute walk or 2.5 Euros.

the resort feels very British, but it's not too "egg and chips" though there are cheap breakfast everywhere for 2.5 to 3 Euros.

Lunchtime toasties or baguettes are in the 3 to 5 Euro range, main meal at night of pasta or meat dish is 6 to 9 Euros.

Beer cheap, bottle of wine with dinner around 12 Euros.

We loved it - Santa Rosa Apartmentos was perfect for us, not too far from anything and if we wanted the noisier square we just jumped in a taxi if it was too warm to feel like walking.

We'll be back Santa Rosa - thanks for a great stay :-)

p.s. there's a cat that hangs out outside reception at night and walks you home to your apartment. He appreciates a little tip for this - ham or tuna is nice. He has a shaved section on his leg, so someone is looking after him and taking him tot he vet's. :-)

Room Tip: we booked direct with hotel and requested a "bungalow" which is what the single level apar...
