We've just come back from a very windy 2 week stay in Tequise, we've been several times but not in the Celeste, we found these appartments perfectly clean and functional, we were lucky to have a high floor with a very big sunny balcony, The reception staff and cleaning ladies could have not been more pleasent. The position of the Celeste is perfect, 2 minutes from the centre, lovely little square with music performed every night, lots of comfy bars to sit in or out. Craft fayre and farmers market in this area too, Lots of reasonable places to eat just a couple of minutes away, Motown on the same strip, good food (even 2 meals for E10) Home cooked while you wait and local pint for E1.50. We will be back, Thankyou Celeste

Room Tip: Just ask for your requirements when booking and l know they will do their best to accomodate,

Have just arrived back from a winter break.... Apartments old but VERY clean. Some maintenance work would not go amiss... Gaps in the doors and a rattly patio door.... Towlels and beds changed 3 times in just one week.... floors washed and beds made and apartment cleaned everyday. Reception staff very helpful and fast check in... We will go back...

My wife and I have just returned from the Celeste Apartments, great location and some very good dining options...so take elastic waisted trousers. The weather was of a windy nature which kept it cool until you sat in a sheltered spot and the sun sent the temperature soaring. The Celeste does what it says on the tin, it is a centrally based hostel and a great place to lay your head after a day of exploration, we had room 312 on the ground floor in the adult zone, it caught the sun for an hour on the afternoon but you can take your tipple to the handy pool area and catch the full sun. The pool is perfect for clearing a fuzzy head ....but don't linger, the apartment has everything you could need and the maid service was very good, they were in and out most days. Eating out is so easy don't bother to cook.....maybe toast and tea. Do the volcano trip and have a camel ride to leave a lasting memory of your trip, as far as restaurants we dined out twice a day did most of the bars and bistros in ' the square' and none failed to please, my one piece of advice would be a little bakery called 'Browns' just off the road straight opposite, if you like crab salad theirs is wonderful and they do a lovely line in pies, pasties and such, apart from that try a selection of restaurants and you will all have your own favourites...tidy apartments, lovely resort, amazing island.....but tie your hat down because it can blow you whiskers off.

My husband and I spent 6 weeks at the Celeste during Jan/Feb. We booked through Hotels4u and got a very good price. We had booked months in advance and requested an upper apartment in the adults only section, which is building 3. We were given a ground floor apartment but managed to change to an upper after a few days. Some of the downstairs apartments are quite nice and are alongside the pool. However, others have small dark patios which get very little sun. I can endorse comments made by others regarding doors and windows. We had very windy weather for about 3 weeks of our stay and the curtains were fluttering in the breeze when we were inside at night! Soundproofing is poor and you can hear "everything" going on in the next door apartment! The cleaning staff were pleasant but, as others have said, the standard of cleaning left a lot to be desired. I don't think the cleaners have enough time to do much more than they do and that is probably the problem. Our television was dreadful. Terrible picture so we never watched it. We wouldn't expect to watch a lot of tele but with the weather not being so good, it would have been nice. The apartments are well located for restaurants, bars, supermarket and the beach. The swimming pool is small and not heated so is absolutely freezing early in the year. The kitchen had everything we needed, except a sharp knife. So, if you intend to do a bit of cooking, take one with you. Also the cooker fused the electricity, as did the toaster. All that said, we had a most enjoyable holiday and, if pushed, would return to Celeste. It does however really need an upgrade. Try La Bohemia nearby for a meal.

Room Tip: Try to get an upstairs room or, if you prefer to be downstairs, ask for one overlooking the pool.

This was a cheap holiday for a wedding anniversary, and we enjoyed it a lot, but I'm afraid I wouldn't go back. Inconsistent cleaning and towel change(we had clean towels delivered and floors washed the day before we came home, but not the previous day ??) is part of it, but having to jam paper into windows and the door to stop them rattling in the wind is not good enough. Luckily my wife is not averse to a bit of cleaning and a bottle of bleach went a long way. We knew what we were booking so this is not a rant. The people that run the property are very nice and most helpful, but it doesn't hide the fact that it needs a total refurbishment. There were families when we stayed and the kids loved the pool although it is quite small. We stayed in February and it was warm through the day but chillier at night, but in the summer the rooms must be really warm as there is no air-con. As I said this is not a rant, and if you are travelling on a budget this property would be O.K. If you can see past the need for a total refit, it is fine and is close to shops and restaurants

Room Tip: ask for top floor so you won't be annoyed by plastic furniture being dragged across the tiles ab...

These apartments were honestly the worst we have ever had the misfortune to stay in.

We are by no means fussy and always make the best of where we are but I cannot believe British tour companies are sending people here.

The apartments are in a good location but apart from that I would struggle to have anything positive to write.

We were in a small one bedroomed apartment in block 2.
It was dark, damp, smelt of drains, had mould on the curtains, around the doors and windows, all the doors, beds, furniture creaked and rattled, you could hear everything from surrounding apartments, toilet flushing, showers etc, the kitchen area had doors hanging off, tiles cracked and broken, the work tops had chunks out and had been repaired in places, the fridge had the beading missing leaving a sharp edge, the bath and shower were rusty, the tv was from the dark ages and had 2 english speaking channels.
The french doors were so ill fitting they banged in the wind and the curtains blew about when they were shut over the door in the evenings.

We asked to be moved to possibly a top floor apartment or quieter area and were told in no uncertain terms by the receptionist that we should have requested that on the booking form and now they had no rooms.

She did say she would make a note of our request but made no effort to do it while we were there and she was so rude I would be surprised if she actually did.

While we were at reception 2 other British couples were complaining about exactly the same problems and that was on day one!

Costa Tequise is lovely so please just chose carefully where you tay.

Room Tip: Book a room somewhere else!

Pros- location. Good consistent wifi, but expensive. tv reception good although tiny screen and high up.

Cons- Despite booking our apt over 2 months in advance requesting upper apt with sea view,
we were given a tiny ground floor apt.-just abbout adequate if one person slept on sofa!
we had small gated patio, certainly not secluded. views of ground and upper apts whitewased walls and large green door of generator. Not even view of pool! I tried to get upper floor appt, but the girl at reception said there were none and mumbled something about appts being allocated on day of arrival. we had arrived early! she was rude and was more interested in getting cash for internet as she had many things to do! Anyways i wouldn,t reccomend the ground floor to anyone.
