Having spent 2 weeks self catering here, I thought I’d let you know how we got on. Using the following email address - firstname.lastname@example.org – I asked for a top floor apartment in Block 1 as I’d read on here that Blocks 1 and 2 had been refurbed and had the sun all day. Several days later Sarai from Los Zocos replied to say that the utmost would be done to accommodate us. We got exactly what we wanted. We also paid 3 euro per day for the television and 20 ish for the room safe, 10 of which is returnable. The safe is quite impressive, very secure. The apartment itself was perfect. Nice, bright and everything quite new. I especially appreciated the walk in shower. Big ‘L’ shaped couch too. So comfy, I actually fell asleep here a couple of times all night. Nothing to do with the evenings refreshments! When I used them, the beds were very comfy for me too! Towels to be left on the bathroom floor if to be changed and cleaning was 5 days from 7 with bedding changed weekly. 5 days from 7 was too much for us with the exception of used towels. We politely declined on a few occasions. The wife was horrified one of the days as the lazy mare had left a mug in the sink and the girl washed, dried and put it away. No big deal I know but she was mortified at the thought of this already hard working girl, (they never stop), washing her dishes. People don’t actually expect that, do they? Anyhow, it never happened again. Anytime we passed through reception the staff seemed to be very efficient. They were, as you’d expect, very welcoming. Obviously I can’t comment on the food but everyone around the pool seemed to be enjoying themselves and the dining room looked very nice. Looked to be popular.
We knew where Los Zocos was as we’ve been to Costa Teguise several times now, so the 15 minute stroll into town didn’t come as a surprise to us but if the slightly uphill walk would be a problem for you there’s a taxi rank right outside and it’ll cost 3 euro excluding any tip. We used them on the way back after every night out ‘cause the wife’s high heels were wobbling!
There’s also a bus top too.
So, all in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely recommend it.
One negative to comment and this has no bearing on Los Zocos whatsoever. This is across the board. We were really shocked at how some parents assumed that because they’re in a ‘complex’ type place that the kids are safe to go anywhere without taking any notice. Anyone can walk in here and kids can leave as is the case in most places.
