Everything I have to say about this Hotel has already been said. From the moment we entered the Hotel until the moment we left everything was perfect.
The Staff are so well trained and they all seemed to enjoy the role they played in your holiday enjoyment. The entertainment team were fabulous-every night we joined in the quizzes and the dancing. Lesley's ambition to get 70 Waltzing Couples on the small dance floor was hilarious. I think we got to 40 ish while we were there.. Deano Stacey Les and Lesley are very talented entertainers. We took the All Inclusive option which was excellent as you were not restricted at all on any drinks, spirits, liquors, cocktails and special liquor coffees. It also did away with having to keep paying. So much easier especially during the evening entertainment as the waiters just kept bringing your drinks with no hassle at all.
We will be returning, probably in June--It won't come soon enough.
Margaret & Chris

Room Tip: All the rooms are very spacious. We were on the top floor.

We have just come back from our 3rd visit in 4 years and had a fabulous time. From the moment you set foot inside you are made to feel special.A welcoming drink is given to you while the reception staff check you in.We managed to get the same room we had on our previous visits, the staff are so accomodating.
The rooms are massive and all have a fabulous view over one of the pools and sea.
The food once again met all my requirements even though I am vegetarian,in fact if you have a special diet they will accomodate you as long as you give them notice.Nothing is any trouble.
All the staff are very friendly, always smiling and all speak at least some English.
Once again the entertainment in The Pavilion was excellent and we managed to catch "The Score" for 4 nights before they went on their Winter break. They are the resident group at The Coronas..Sass and Bass have now taken over for 3 months and I wish them luck. The main acts were all good excepting The Beatles tribute band who couldn't even be bothered to change out of their jeans...that spoiled it as for me visual is important.Actually as we walked from the pavilion to our room they sounded better because you couldn't see them, but that is just my opinion and i'm sure many people enjoyed the show.
I would like to thank Deano and Stacey for making our stay fun as Da Do Ron Ron and I entered into the spirit of things and joined in all the daytime games....SUCH FUN.....and many new freindships were made as well as some old ones re-kindled...and Deano I completley got the name recognition bit as we talk about all the folk we met by those names...So easy to remember.
If you are going ,please don't hesitate to join in the games...French Boules is fab down on the beach, and you will make so many new friends.
The weather this year was fantastic and the pool was most welcoming,in fact I have never seen so many people in the pools before.
Thankyou once again Coronas for such fabulous memories....
See you all next Winter...

Overall an incredible experience. The hotel bungalows are fabulous, each having their own tea and coffee making facilities and a sun facing balcony equipped with sun beds. The entertainment mainly through Nick and Jenny was exemplary with a high standard throughout our two weeks. The food although repeated menus in the second week was good, with us able to choose something to suit us every night.. There is free wi-fi available but it does tend not to work in the rooms, just outside near the pool or on the balcony / terraces.
The staff on reception really cannot do enough to help, wonderful capable and caring people. The cleaners, gardeners, and other staff are all helpful, polite and are happy to say 'good morning'. Al most all staff speak english well and thats to the good as over 97% of visitors are english speakers. Well I can reccomend this hotel highly its just great. We will be back again in 2013 as long as the standard is maintained.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for a Garden or Sea view bungalow, bottle of wine and fruit on arrival plus...

Just returned from 2 weeks holiday at this hotel having last stayed here 2 years ago and wasn't disappointed . The hotel staff were excellent & very friendly . In the restaurant at breakfast and dinner the area we sat in was covered by the very friendly Laura who could not do enough for us , including getting cushions for us to sit on . In the restaurant on a lunch time and the monkey bar on an evening we had a good banter with Jose who was very efficient at his job , if you go ask Jose about the jacket potatoes he will know what you mean as his pronunciation of 'jacket' sounds like something else ! If you drink beer ask for Dorado . In Costa Teguise there are 3 trail walks (they call them promenades and the map of these walks can be got from the tourist information situated near the square in the centre of Costa Teguise , which is only a short walk from hotel)
if you can't find this Tony the Thomsons local interest rep in the hotel may be able to help you . The walks are clearly marked the shortest follow the green signs 4.6 km, the blue marked one is 6.5 km, and the red marked route is 10 km. We have done them all and they all are good and the views on the red route are well worth the extra effort , there are one or two slopes to walk up and down which underfoot it was quite gravelly so wear full shoes or trainers . If you are unfortunate enough to have to visit a hospital as we did , make sure you go to a general hospital which on contacting our travel insurers we were advised to do , The General De Lanzarote Hospital which was a 15 mins taxi ride from hotel costing around 11 euros , get a receipt off driver, take your E111 card and your passport and it won't cost you anything for the actual treatment only cost would be if like us you needed medicine from pharmacy which for 2 items on prescription only cost 5 euro , do be prepared for a long wait though even though we went to A &E we were there 5 hours and as we don't speak Spanish did have slight communication problems . Even after all this we did have a great holiday and are already planning and looking forward to our 3rd .

Stayed at the hotel over new year and it was good. Room was spacious with a nice balcony with sunbeds. The staff were very friendly and the room was kept immaculately clean. The food was very tasty with a good variety for all tastes. The hotel lounge was a bit tired and the bar area furniture was not very comfortable. I didnt see anyone use the pool and was told that it was unheated although the area around the pool was in constant use. Overall it was OK and just a short walk to the town center.

Room Tip: Upgrade to sea view.

Rooms were very big so can't understand why there are only 2 small drawers - plenty of room for a chest of drawers, plenty of hangers in wardrobe which made a change! The chairs in the restaurant were too low and rickety, and at every meal you had to search for cushions, if they can't afford to buy new chairs then they could at least provide enough cushions. Food in the restaurant for the evening meal not up to Gold Standard although the breakfast was good. Most of staff friendly.
One of the lifts broke down while we were in it, we pressed the alarm but it didn't work. Eventually managed to get out by forcing the door open but the reception staff were very unconcerned, I would have thought this was a health & safety issue.

Stayed at this hotel from 8th - 22nd January and this was our 3rd visit. The friendliness of the staff is amazing. They are always smiling and always greet you with a friendly 'hola'. On arrival you get a welcome drink and your suitcases are taken to your room. The reception staff are very helpful and speak good english. In fact a couple of the reception staff are English. The bedrooms are large, spotlessly clean and overlook one of the two pools. Towels are changed daily and bedding 2 or 3 times a week. There is a free fridge in the room but you have to pay for the safe. Pool towels are provided (with a deposit) and can be changed daily. There's no shortage of sun beds around the pools.

I found the food to be excellent with a good choice. You can book half board or All Inclusive. Would recommend the All Inclusive. Breakfast and dinner are taken in the main restaurant and for the All Inclusive guests there's a choice of 3 venues - Lunch can be taken in the main restaurant with soup, a main choice plus a daily specials choice, salad and deserts. The main course is waiter served. There's also the pool bar where you can get baguettes, toasties, sandwiches and burgers and the bottom pool bar where there's pizza. The All Inclusive is valid until you depart for the airport.

The Coronas Playa is in a nice location. The back of the hotel overlooks the sea and there's a promenade for a nice stroll into the centre of Costa Teguise. There's a newsagents next door to the hotel, with bars, restaurants, shops and a couple of supermarkets nearby. The bus stop is close to the hotel with buses taking you to Arrecife and Puerto Del Carmen in one direction and to the centre of Costa Teguise in the other.

The Thomson Gold reps work really hard with the daytime activities such as French Boules, darts, bean bag throwing, quizzes etc. There's plenty of evening entertainment with quizzes, cabaret and the brilliant resident duo, The Score. The holiday reps and the local interest rep were very good as well. Always helpful when needed.

The hotel and costa Teguise are suitable for people with mobility problems and wheelchair users.

Had a brilliant holiday at the Coronas Playa and can't wait to return again soon.

Room Tip: all rooms are good
