“Great family hotel in a great family resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Really loved the Lanzarote Gardens hotel it was a great size with a park for younger kids and a park for older kids, the pools are massive 2 in total 1 with slide and 1 slightly heated, there is a free baby club for 0-3yrs and free mini clubs both that seem excellent
The animation team work relentlessly and are excellent at entertaining the kids, I recommend the little mermaid show, I think I enjoyed it more than my son!!
There is a precinct directly opposite hotel with shops and restaurants, the main square is a 5 min walk away
If you want a great family holiday for all ages here is your place
Loved it
Travelled with 6 adults, four aged 20-30, two aged 70+ and two aged 2yrs.

have just returned from another great holiday at L/Gardens this is the 4th time we have stayed here, twice self catering & twice half board. so I think we are in good position to make a fair review of this hotel, we were a party of 4 (elderly people ) based in 2 rooms so can compare rooms also, one of the first things to say is that this is a child friendly hotel, but the activities are such that you don't really notice this.
As every is saying the staff ( ALL THE STAFF) are extremely friendly and helpful
The apartments are large and well furnished and cleaned every day except one.
The hotel pools are spacious and there are ample sun beds for all guests so no need to rush to reserve beds, plenty umbrellas and shade under the palm trees.
The apartments are well suited to self catering, oven/cooker, microwave, fridge, coffee maker & kettle ( we did request the kettle by e-mail) before we arrived, got a courteous reply from hotel confirming that this would be organised for us.
The half board option was good, plenty of choice at breakfast, full English if you wanted it plus lots of other choices my only gripe would be that the wait for the toaster took too long. Evening meal were good with lots of choice, soups, meat, fish, pasta, all self service buffet style
The position of the Hotel is great as every one says, the bus stop is right outside the hotel and the buses run to Arrecife every 20 minutes so you can get about the island quite easily

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks self catering. Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment facing out onto a grey "landscaped area." The room was of a reasonable standard and although we had to use a pan to boil water, the kitchenette was quite well equipped. The cleaner comes in 6 days a week and watch out if you are the last room to be cleaned. A few days we had to contact the reception to get some towels. We never ate here, but we did see the canteen style restaurant being used. It appeared clean and well attended. The drinks prices are typical of Hotels. A large beer is 2.80 e and a Gin and Tonic 4.90 e ish. You will find much cheaper in local bars. The entertainment team are VERY good and apart for the Argy Dance night, the 1 hour approx. entertainment was very good. It is worth watching....
The Hotel has 3 pools and loads of loungers. If you want a cushion, then its going to cost you a euro each day. Plenty of activities for the kids here, so if you are looking for this, then this could be the hotel.
We ate out every night, plenty of choice in nearby bars and Restaurants. Cheapest was a Chinese all you can eat for 4.50 euros. I have done a few write ups on these..
Finally, Supermarkets.....Out of the Hotel turn right and go up the road about 300 yards. This is the cheapest nearby. Next door, and the one opposite to the left are very expensive some things are 30 to 40% dearer...

One week visit in April 2013 with 2 children 6 and 3. We had a fabulous week, the accommodation was nice, and the hotel of a good standard but what set it apart was the kids entertainment - there was loads going on plenty to keep them entertained with kids clubs during the day and a disco and show in the evening. A really nice playground and good pools with plenty of sunbeds. Easy quick transfer from the airport and walking distance to everything you needed - beach, shops and cafes. A very enjoyable stay, we will be going back.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms seem to have a bigger terrace / outside area.

Myself, my wife and two boys (aged 6 and 10) stayed at the hotel for 7 days beginning the 9th April 2013. The hotel is in a great location, the entertainment team excellent and we enoyed the first 2 days. It was apparent talking to her guests that there was a stomach bug sweeping the hotel. My wife caught it first followed by our two kids a day later. One of my lads was really ill and we had to call the doctor (thank god there is a doctor next door to the hotel).Of the seven days 4 were spent in the room through illness. I thought the hotel could have done more to stop the spread of the virus as the meals are buffet style and an obvious cause of infection. We saw food was being touched by guests put back, this was mostly happening with the ice cream with the kids. The hotel in my opinion could have done more to stop this.
We would have enjoyed the holiday but for the illness which totally ruined it.

Dear Sir,
It was great of you to point out the positives you experienced in H10 Lanzarote Gardens with our great location and the entertainment team.
I am very sorry to read that part of your family was ill during your holiday; but please let me explain you that during the period you were here there was a flu virus on the island, instead of a stomach bug sweeping the hotel.
Being a resort focused on families with children means that we are very committed to every security aspect of all our guests.
H10 Lanzarote Gardens has a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) based system for ensuring food safety, with regular inspections carried out by an independent company, and a regular training programme to ensure all staff is adequately trained in food hygiene.

If you need further details on our procedures, please fell free to contact me.

Warm regards,

Iris Berger

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Spent a week here from 7th April - so last week of the Easter break for many children. We travelled independently - Easyjet and internet bookings for the airport transfer and hotel.
Basic but comfortable one bedroom apartment. Maid service every day and everywhere kept very clean. One day our beds were changed and I don't mean the sheets. After the maids had been there was a knock on the door with one of the staff saying "change beds please?". Even though we explained that they had already been done she was insistent so we let her in. She proceeded to strip the bed and the mattresses and bed frames themselves were than taken away and replaced by brand new ones - the mattresses especially seemed to be of a far better quality than the old ones and were very comfortable. When we went out (and over the next day or so) we noticed that this seemed to be happening in a very large number of the apartments so perhaps it was part of a general upgrade.
During the day the entertainment staff work very hard to keep all age groups happy. Our two year old granddaughter wasn't really keen on "Baby Club" (for 0-3 year olds) but our six year old grandson loved "Mini Club" (4-8). There are also "Junior" and "Teen" clubs for older children but apparently these only run during the school holidays. At night there are the usual shows (Grease, Cats, Lion King etc) which we didn't watch as those sort of hotel shows are not really our thing but which seemed to be very well appreciated by those that did watch.
There are three pools - including one for toddlers. The main pool (with a small water slide) and the toddlers pool are not heated and are very cold. The other pool is "heated" but still feels cold when you first get in but if your brave enough to go through the water slide pool and then get into the heated pool its like getting into a warm bath. There were no problems getting sunbeds at any time of the day.
The hotel is very nicely placed - five minutes walk to a great beach by going straight through the car park on the opposite side of the road once you come through the reception area. There is a chemist, doctor and small supermarket immediately outside the hotel with more shops (including a much bigger supermarket), restaurants and bars in the "commercial centre" two minutes away. Again across the road but left diagonal through the car park. The main centre of the resort is a 10-15 minute walk away and we found the Spar supermarkets there to offer the best value for many things.
We were self catering so didn't eat in the hotel but thought the breakfasts at Peskira (right on the promenade going towards town) were great value for money. We also enjoyed meals in Portabello and Robinsons and thought that Number One was a great "local, go back to" bar (all in the commercial centre opposite).
We found the staff all to be very friendly and in the main they spoke excellent English (particularly the reception staff and the multi national entertainment team). Naturally they all appreciate and are more responsive to an "hola" or "buenos dias" in their own language.
All in all we had a very enjoyable time.

Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for sharing your positive experience in H10 Lanzarote Gardens. We really appreciate your comment about our brand new mattresses and bed bases, as this is a good example of the hotel's policy of its facilities' constant renovation.
Reading your opinion about the friendliness and good job of our staff (cleaners, animation team, receptionists..) is a great motivation for us to keep up this way.
We would be delighted to welcome you and your family again, in order to provide you another very enjoyable holiday.

Best regards,

Iris Berger

Where to start? First the accommodation; we had a one bed apartment with two single beds and a sofa bed for the 3 of us. It was basic, but comfortable and clean. We didn't spend long in the room itself so have no complaints apart from a little bit of noise from neighbouring rooms (not the fault of the hotel). Onto the restaurant; we stayed 5 nights half board (breakfast and dinner). The food was again fairly basic, but acceptable and there was reasonable variety over the period we were there. We have no complaints and never went hungry that's for sure. It was better to get there earlier to avoid having food that had been kept warm for a while, but with a younger child anyway, this was not an issue. In fact the main driver for eating early became the children's disco in the evening! This seems to lead nicely onto the entertainment team, who we thought were excellent, they really helped make it a holiday for the two us as well. The activities provided were really good and our daughter loved it. The evening entertainment was also pretty good (the afore mentioned kids disco was usually followed by a show of a higher quality than I was certainly expecting). The facilities of the hotel were good and as advertised. All the staff that we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Although it has been a long time since I was last in Lanzarote, I did feel the island looked a little 'tired' but I'm guessing it suffered with the financial crisis. There was a lot of work going on to improve the roads, so perhaps this might help. Overall, an excellent holiday which was in no little part to the hotel and its staff, thank you H10!
