“Wonderful relaxing holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

My boyfriend and I have just come back from the Barcello Lanzarote Resort where we spent 1 week. The hotel was absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. We had a superior room 1122 on the ground floor which was just beside the pool at the tennis courts, which was absolutely lovely and we had no problem getting a sunbed at anytime of the day! The main pool area was lovely also and again there seemed to be no problem with the sunbeds. There was food and a bar at the main pools from 10.00am to 5pm, we were all inclusive and drinks available whenever you felt like one. The restaurant was huge and lovely and clean, the food was great, plenty of choice for all, I do not eat meat and this was not a problem as there was always fish and pasta and plenty of salad, lovely sweets and ice cream. Dinner was from 7.00 to 10.30pm and we always got a table straight away, I would say this was because it was later in the season. The reception staff could not be more helpful anything you asked they obliged. We lost our camera, left it in a taxi and the reception staff called the taxi company and it was found and returned to us, the guy bringing right back to the hotel awesome!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going, it is a bit outside of Costa Teguise itself but a hotel bus is free during the day up to 5.30pm but a taxi back is only 4 or 5 euro, tf could be a little more later on in the evening. We were able to get the local bus into Puerto Del Carmen for 5.60 euro for two and they run very frequently, you can also get it into Teguise as well. We got a bus back to the airport from straight outside the hotel for 4.60 euro after paying 18 euro on arrival, although this was great value when you just arrive. I would especially like to say a big hello and thank you to Fermina, Yassins, Zaira and Joaquin at the Piano Bar who we had great craic with and looked after us so well, miss you guys...... Will certainly stay here again if we return to Lanzarote, sad to be home from home.......

Room Tip: I would definitely upgrade to a superior room their location is better and being on the ground floor...

Me & my family (me, my partner, my mum & dad and our two children aged 3 and 6months) have just returned from a 2 week stay here. The hotel was perfect for our needs. It's very family orientated with lovely big pools and slides. The pool areas where extremely clean and the where tones of sunbeds availible. there was also crazy golf, a play park, kids clubs and a disco in the evening to keep the kids entertained.
The staff where really friendly and our room was cleaned pretty much everyday. The restaurant was ok, a bit repetative but did the job.
The location was good, we stayed in block 7 top floor which had sea views and was quiet..no road noise or noise from the bar. There was a free bus that took you into costa teguise everyday...recommend the beach there! Best one in the area surrounded by small bars etc.
The only negative thing about the hotel was that we where half board and the hotel was geared up really to all inclusive, was a bit faffy to get drinks etc at meal times and they where quite expensive! U can upgrade to all inclusive but we didn't bother!
Overall though a fantastic hotel and a fantastic family holiday

Myself and my partner have just returned from 11 nights here.We will not be going back. Some of the staff are rude and the drinks are very flat. The place needs a revamp as very worn looking. We were in room 6208 (would not recommend) the air con did not work, the bed was rock solid and it had an awful smell to the room.We was also right next to the generator which was so noisy but you do get used to this after a while. The food was poor and repeated.I even found a thick black curly hair in my soup and when i went to complain they just laughed. This really put me off the food and made me feel like i had to check everything i ate.The pools were freezing and i feel these should be heated slightly. There was not much to do on the resort itself it was the same everyday although the animation team was fantastic and always provided good activities/entertainment during the day/night. We went to watch the music hall tavern show during our stay and the show itself was good but the food was awful very dry and poor quality. We also paid 19 euros each to upgrade to gold package drinks all night and we wish we never done this as they were flat all night. The seats were very uncomfortable and a very tiny venue. Overall i was very disappointed with this holiday and would not be back. Defiantly not a 4*..Sorry to have to moan but wanted to keep everyone a honest review.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room.Blocks 5,6,7

I went with my family for a week on 11.10.12 and had paid for a superiour room. The facilties were second to none and it had a wide variety of food option to meet all. Five pools to choose fronm and providing activities througout the day for both children and adults. Our family went all inclusive and felt this was ideal. However alcohol and soft drinks stopped at 11.00pm therefore if you wanted a drink after this time you had to pay for it. It cost 7euros 20 for three soft drinks so I would advise to get a few rounds in prior to 11.00pm to last you till the entertainment finished. Ocverall our family could not say a negative point about our stay and would go back again.

Trip advisor.
barcelo lanzarote resort. 30th Sept - 14th Oct 2012.
Hi all, Are you looking for a family holiday abroad with almost guarantied Sun, Sea and Sand. Well read on because i think this maybe the one for you. this is our 1st visit to this hotel. And 4th visit to the island. We arrived very late 10.30pm so didn't expect to be offered food after our journey.
We were asked to return to reception at 11.00pm and we were shown to the resturaunt where a meal had been prepared and plated for us.
Meal over retired to bed. rooms very spacious, bedroom seperate from livingroom/patio-balcony. Our 1st nights sleep was very noisy I found out later that we are above the services area. They also use a large generator that starts at 7am and appears to run all day. And our aircon was noisy too. Anyway after a couple of tweaks the aircon was sorted and the services noise we got used to very quickly. The bed I found very comfortable, so that aided a good nights sleep. Day 2 was used up, finding our bearings around the hotel and then a walk along the seafront promanade, about 10 mins walk away. This is a walk we have done many times and never tire of doing.
Meals and Dining.
The meals are good but not award winning. But there is plenty to choose from.Fish was cooked ok, There's plenty of different types of fish always on offer: Smoked salmon, Tuna, and several different locally caught fish too. its an all inclusive experience. So buffet style, with some show cooking. Lots of salad and cooked meats too. There was a good variety of cheeses each evening and always pasta which was cooked well. Drinks at this hotel are plentiful but if you want wine with dinner its by the Caraf and not very good. The choice is white, red, or rose. In fact the white wine tasted like viniger. The trouble is that they get all the Carafs filled before dinner is served and put in the fridge without a cover or cork. So I decided to go for bottled beveridges or get the drinks from the lounge bar before going into the restaraunt.
Facility,s
This hotel has got the lot. 4 pools, an outdoor jacuzzi, 2 Tennis courts, Beach volley ball, Wellness centre, Gym, if you want to do it then you can probably do it here.
Entertainment:
The animations team are great and they work very hard and are always smiling, which is no mean task with so many people to keep entertained. Theres a great kids club, it even has its own pool. And 1 of the pools is the quiet pool tucked away from the noise of children and music. I didn't found the evening entertainment very good though. But the hotel opposite had good shows. I shoud point out that all entertainment is funded and organised by the hotel and not the tour opperators. From the moment we stepped into this hotel to the day we left we had no contact with our tour opperator.
This is a family hotel, and its multi national, so there's always people here of all nationalities. Also please don't come here assuming the kids are at school. Different natîonalities different school holidays!
Location.
The hotel is located on the outer edge of costa teguise a stones throw from the islands electricity generating plant. Quite surprised they needed a generator at the hotel, bearing in mind how close they are to this.
Its a good 25 minute walk into the town centre from here along the promenade. But if you can't or don't want to walk then there's a bus stop right outside the front entrance of the hotel. The buses are every 20 Minutes, to the town centre or arrecife and about 40 minutes to peurto-del-carman direct. And the hotel also runs a courtesy bus every hour into costa tequise centre.
Conclusion: The wife and I both enjoyed our stay here and found the quiet area when we had had enough walking around thè resorts of costa teguise, Arrecife, peurto-del-carmen & Player blanca. Well worth another visit. Perhaps with the grand kids...

Room Tip: Ask for North-East facing. Blocks 5/6/7. But Try and Stear clear of room 6208 and any 2 rooms iether...

we were 8 adults (4 couples) in our 50's and 60's, firstly the food - we all enjoyed the food and found the choice available was good, the salad was always fresh and again plenty of choice, there was always a fish, meat or veggie alternative.
the drinks were also good with help yourself by the pool, however the wine was poor (white) and fair (red). however we did not use the hotel in the evening, service was poor in the piano bar with brits being served after spanish even if at the bar before them, so we went into costa tequise each night. on the first night two ladies in our group went to the bar and although nobody else was at the bar the lady serving pretenteded to be busy tidying up even coming around the bar to wipe tables then tidied up the same things she had tidied before, about 6 to 7 minutes in total, then a spanish guest arrived and was served promptly, our ladies by now irrate asked to be served, on return to our table i asked why they had been so long, sorry i had asked !!!!. however this was the exception and service was quiet good from most staff, a pity about 3 bar staff are letting down the rest, management keeping an eye on the staff could solve this problem.
the room was a good size and housekeeping was excellent, however, the air con was poor when we asked if this could be sorted out they must have increased the power but still not effective and this was october , would not like to stay here in summer.
sunbeds - no problem but not high season.
we went into costa tequise every evening taxi cost no more than 4 euro and plenty of choice of bars and restaurants ask taxi driver to take you to the square.
