Ok I guess they do well to have grass at all in the heat out there, but keeping it on the fairway is difficult since Barnes Wallis would be proud of the bounce you get off such hard fairways. You think that's hard you wait till you get in the rough! Oh my Days! Imagine taking an iron shot off Grimethorpe Colliery slag heap and that is about the measure of it. The bunkers equally do not allow the usual technique for exiting such a hazard, tried chipping under the ball, and felt like I'd been operating a jack hammer.
Seriously don't take your own clubs unless you don't need to bring them back with you.
I'm a fairly high handicapper so some of you may manage to stay on the fairway, but I doubt it for all the holes.
The plus side the reception staff very very very nice and mre than helpful. The course is well laid out and easy to navigate (if your on a buggy) each hole leads directly to the next tee. As opposed to some courses where you get lost on first time playing.
Overall it was a holiday experience that I'd probably do again, but DEFINITELY not with my own clubs
