“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Stayed for five nights with a party of four and was a bit apprehensive of reading the comments before but when we got the hotel the reception staff (Amber) was really helpfull and happily assisted us with directions in to town and local bus times. The rooms were brilliantly sized, unfortunately no air con but other than that was really happy. I really enjoyed the food i thort the choice on offer was great and tried certain foods i hadnt tried before and was greatly pleased. Also i really enjoyed that they had water polo on everyday at four which was a good scoial and team up with pople from different countrys. The only minor hic-cup we had was they forgot to change our towels but this was quickly resolved. Finally i think the hotel was great value for money and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

First things first, the people writing the bad reviews seem to have the delusional idea they have booked into a 5* hotel by their reaction and instead ended up here. I'd be disappointed too! But its not! You know you've booked a 3* (or 4* as some seem to have been told), and to be truly honest its just like ANY other 3* all inclusive hotel. Basic but enjoyable, some people seem to pick at every point they dislike! Just enjoy yourself!

All or the staff in reception were very helpful, who were always fast to solve your problems and to please the customer. Also, one day our electricity key slot stopped working for some reason, and one of the maintenance men had been and fixed the problem within an hour - very friendly and very helpful. The staff behind the bar and in the restaurant were helpful, to say they worked what seemed to be all day every day they were always friendly and polite.

I have to disagree with those saying the food was terrible, there was always something for everyone to eat - breakfast was your standard all inclusive breakfast, and the dinner and evening meals were standard but enjoyable, pasta, sauces, variety or meats, fish, potatos, i dont know what people were expecting. The only problem was that in the restaurant the staff werent too quick at bringing out fresh food when it had run out, but a bit of patience and you're fine. Also there always seemed to be a shortage of cutlery, but i think this had something to do with the slow cleaning of the tables after people had finished their meal. This was due to the lack of staff and high demand. But you didnt have to go into the restaurant - all through the day from after breakfast there are fresh ham and cheese baguettes available from the bar on the all inclusive which were really nice to say im a fussy eater. There is also hot food available from the bar during the lunch time, 1-3, pizzas burgers and chips, so there is a lot to choose from for a standard lunch.

As for those people complaining about the small cups for all inclusive. IT'S ALL INCLUSIVE. What else do you really expect? Especially when you can get as many as you want. The small cups are the same in any all inclusive hotel. so if you don't like small cups, don't go all inclusive, simple. Also, the staff didn't stick to the two drinks per person rule, i saw people getting up to six at at time at one point.

The pool area was always very clean, you could see it all being given a good scrub and tidy on a morning before people came out. The pool area wasn't very big, but there wasn't a lot of people there trying to squeeze in either, there was more room then needed. Yes people waited for sun beds on a morning but that was usually the 'comfy' ones, but there really isn't much difference between those and the standard sun beds which my family used.

The rooms were cleaned every other day by the maids. Its not the best clean i've ever had but it was still live-able. The beds were made, bins emptied, floors swept and the towels changed (if you left them in the bath which i forgot to do once and so didn't get clean towels - my own fault. But I'm sure if you asked at reception you could get some more). The only problem was that one day one of the beds didn't get made one day because the person sleeping in it is a wriggler and so the sheet and everything had come off, which was slightly annoying as I'd of hoped it would have been taken off anyway, he just saved her a job.

The entertainment in the hotel weren't the best that i've seen, but when the's only two staff and a trainee what do you expect? There was always activities for adults and children throughout the day, and always the mini disco, bingo and a show on a night.

The problem with the hotel was the fact that it was quite far out from the main part of Costa Teguise, but it is a lovely walk into the main part, a 5 or 10 minute walk along the beach front and you're there. However due to the hotel not being in the centre of Costa Teguise it can be confusing on how to get there and back to the hotel and can take a few days to get your bearings, but once you know where you're going you're fine.

We would definitley return to this hotel, a really nice and welcoming place to go, all round good experience.

We have just got back from this hotel and after reading mixed reviews about it we were apprehensive but I found it an excellent hotel. The food was lovely, there would always be pasta and sauces but aside from that there was a lot of variety each meal. I am a fussy eater but always found plenty to eat. The hotel staff where pleasant and the bar staff very good! The only downside was no air conditioning, just a fan on the ceiling but we just kept that on all day and night. A bargain for all inclusive and well worth it.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of four during the end of July/beginning of August. I was very apprehensive as I'd read lots of bad reviews on tripadvisor and we had booked for 10 nights. First impressions were not too bad. We were quickly checked in and told where our rooms were - on the top floor, D306 and D307. The rooms were basic but appeared quite clean, and the balcony on D307 in particular was spacious, with a nice view. We were relieved to be away from the main pool area, as I imagine it would be quite noisy. There was no air conditioning, but ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which we kept on all night. The one in D306 stopped working, so we reported it and it was fixed within a couple of hours (thank you Ivan!) We stayed half board; the receptionist tried to get us to upgrade to full board for an extra 8 euros per person per day, but we didn't do this. I wasn't a big fan of the food, though my teenage son found it fine and ate plenty! I ate mainly bread, chips and rice as it seemed the safest! Some of the meat didn't look too appetising, and the desserts were mainly slop in large bowls. On occasions we had to search for cutlery and plates, but to be fair the staff were doing their best, there just weren't enough of them. The pool - well that had to be seen to be believed! Although you were not supposed to reserve sunbeds, each morning when we went for breakfast there were lots of desperate souls hanging around within 6 inches of the sunbeds and casually leaning on them, as if to say 'this is mine!' We saw one guy lying on the pile of sunbeds one morning! Also people would position their towels around the pool to reserve their spaces, even though this was supposedly not allowed. The pool area is very small, it looks much larger in the photos, probably due to a wide angle lens. So you would be shoulder to shoulder with the next person, which would be very claustrophobic. The amount of people smoking around the pool put us off too, also the butts left on the floor. We went to the beach a couple of days and hired sunbeds. It was lovely, very relaxing. We also ate out a couple of nights although we had paid for half board, for a break from the 'sameness' of the food. There are plenty of nice places to eat in; lunchtimes usually found us at 'The Welcome' for a toastie. It's run by a Welsh couple and is very pleasant. Back to the rooms - we were charged 42 euros for a safe for 10 nights, which I think is rather expensive, though we did get a 10 euro deposit back. The towels were very small (definitely not bath size), thin and well used with some dubious stains on them. You put your towels in the bath if you want them changed, which we did after a couple of days, but several times the same dirty towels were hung back up! We soon found out that a maid/cleaner came every other day, but they certainly didn't clean anything. They emptied the bins and that was about it. There was a pile of hair next to our bed, and I said to my daughter I would keep an eye on that to see if it was removed during our stay. It wasn't. The rooms are badly in need of some TLC, particularly the bathrooms where the grout has seen better days and are generally tired looking. We didn't bother with any evening entertainment as the reviews didn't seem favourable, so we usually walked into Costa Teguise - about a 20 minute walk. There was a nice atmosphere, good for families or couples. The staff that we encountered during our stay were polite, we had no problems with rudeness as some other guests seem to. There was one large cockroach in our room, but the balcony door was open so you can't blame him for coming in! There was also a small lizard on the wall which my husband removed. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of insects - I have a phobia of wasps but didn't see any. No insect bites either, which was great. On the day we checked out, we didn't get collected until 4.45pm, but were able to keep our room until 3pm for 20 euros, which we did but found a bit expensive. This hotel is in a good location for the airport, about 15 minutes away if you went straight there and don't allow for all the other passengers being collected on the way. I wasn't sure whether to give this hotel a 'poor' or 'average' rating, I went for poor but wish there was something inbetween as that would have seemed fairer. We liked Lanzarote very much and would go back, but to the Costa Teguise Gardens? No. We would rather save up and pay for something nicer.

Room Tip: We liked D307, away from main pool area and a nice balcony.

Don't listen to the bad reviews! The staff where great laugh and most spoke fluent english, food was decent (enjoyable for the children as well) Always had something to do during the day and night. Bingo was good fun and entertainment was alright. Defiantly recommend this hotel and also is only a walk away from the waterpark and the beach which is a added bonus! The hotel rooms where very clean and so was the pool. If you need extra towels go and ask at the desk you will get them straight away. Would come here again.

we visited in April 2010, this hotel isn't a 4* as advertised but a 3 i would say. tbh i liked this hotel staff were lovely. ROOMS: were ok kept clean and tidy had we had a 1 bed apartment and was a great size with balcony. FOOD: was nice ( same as every 2 week holiday can be repetitive ) im fussy when it comes to food and tbh if im planning on drinking not really up for eating much but some nights i really like the food so if fill up a few bowls full n take back to my room n put in the fridge to warm up for later lol, DESTINATION: beach clubs n bars aren't to far away about 10 -15 min walk or about 4 euros in a taxi found a few lovely restaurants by the beaches defo worth a look at the menus while walking past. ENTERTAINMENT was good for both children and adults. i enjoyed my holiday here and would go back again wouldn't be my 1st choice of a holiday but if money was tight and i had to chose somewhere to go this would be a perfect place to come on a budget, dont let peoples reviews put you off as it was a great hotel .
