“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Very well located, close to shops and beautiful seafront walk. Our family room was very spacious. Food was excellent, luxurious breakfast as well as the evening buffet. The evening dinner (at the buffet restaurant) was not really kids welcome despite an early arrival but there are other "more relaxed" restaurants within a walking distance. Beautiful reception and indoor botanical garden. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Wonderful hotel. Upgraded to The Level Suite. All drinks included throughout the day. Then for the last three days stayed in the Presidential VIlla. Someone has to. Got excellent deal from Vanesa for staying in the villa. So good to upgrade if you can get a good price. Great thing about Canaries is more or less the guaranteed sunshine. Great to have 24c when it is chucking it down in Blighty.
We joked one evening when we moved the the Villa that we expected candles around the private pool and rose petals on the water. This was just joking. Next day we got back from dinner>>>>candles and rose petals on the water! Very nice touch.
Yes the hotel is a little old. But if you stand back and appreciate the architecture you will see that 100 years from now this construction will be a gem of the Canaries. We will definitely be coming back next December.
Spa not very good. Have to pay for Sauna, which was unusual. Woman that does the massages best to be avoid

Room Tip: Stay in the Villa Dona Ana. Like Lenny Kravitz and Prince

We stayed in a junior suite on the top floor with superb views, plus all the 'Level' facilities - dedicated check-in, lounge and exclusive pool area - well worth the extra. Excellent service from concierges Vanessa and Luca. Very good buffet breakfast and dinner plus waiter service restaurant.A very relaxing experience!

This is a first class hotel for those visiting Lanzarote. We stayed two weeks and only ventured outside for a one day trip. The hotel has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, very good service, excellent food in the buffet restaurant and if you are all inclusive a very nice lunch restaurant. The sea is great for swimming and there are loads of recreational posibbilities. We had a sea facing balcony and there the wi fi was excellent but if since the hotel is built like a ww2 bunker there are some white spots.

Room Tip: We had a beach side with balcony on the second floor.

When I look a hotel my first concern is a warm water pool, number two is free Internet in the room, third is the food, forth is free wine at the meals, fifth is the entertainment. The hotel is very nice but the pools are very cold-- 19 to 20° We were told but they seemed colder. A competitive Olympic pool's would be at 23 to 24°C (76°F) recreational soaring generally as the food temperature near 84°F (27 or 28°C). I want to swam 1000 m a day on vacation but it was way too cold. I only saw two other people swung during the week. From my point of view that would see only negative but it was big enough that I won't go back until the warm pool. Seating was very comfortable around the pools and there was plenty of comfortable chairs inside, outside under the shade, and that the beach. Food was good – – not great. Because were on full pension the wine is free. Internet was free in the room. The buffet had about eight types of meat and six types of fish every night cooked to order. The desserts were good. There were a couple of very good shows and a couple that were mediocre. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were great. We had a master suite. I understand the double rooms are quite small. The high point of the day was the lunch at the restaurant. It was served. There were 10 choices and starters, 10 of entrées and about six desserts. We ate outside overlooking the bay. One night they had a special dinner for 20 or €30. Nice guitar. Great dessert. Very good soup. But not worth the price. I won't go back until they warm the pool considerably. Oops! I almost forgot. The fitness room was the best I have seen. A nearly complete Technogym series. Ceiling to floor windows looking out the beach. In summer they can be opened. This was really a great room.

We had a really good time when staying at the Melia Salinas in November.
Very good service, good food and facilities.
The only let down was WIFI in the room. We had to go onto our balcony to get the desired signal.

My husband & I recently enjoyed a weeks holiday in Costa Teguise, staying at the Melia Salinas.
We were a little unsure what to expect after a wide range of reviews, however we should not have been worried!
Everything was wonderful, from the bellboy rushing to carry our bags when we arrived, to enjoying a bottle of excellent complimentary Rioja on our balcony, with the most amazing sea view.
Our standard room was very comfortable, the air con worked well & to be able to fall asleep to the sound of the sea was an unforgettable experience.
The food was excellent, as we're all the staff, everyone very helpful on the rare occasion we needed anything.
The Hotel was fairly quiet, & many times we were the only people swimming in the glorious pool, & also never had problem finding a free lounger, whatever time of day.
Yes, perhaps the Hotel is a little dated, however, what you gain with this is space, & a unique design that you just would not find in a more modern Hotel.
The ambience was perfect for what we ended - a relaxing week enjoying some winter sun.
