“Amazing Tapas bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

Went to this little gem late Sept and what amazing food. 21 euros for 4 dishes, bread and 2 drinks. We had noticed it before but it was always packed and couldnt get a table as the Spanish all eat around 9 - 10pm but went at 7 and got a table no problem. If the locals are queing up to use it then it must be good. Take to long to list the dishes but will just say they were the fantastic and tasty on both our trips there.

“Excellent basque food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2011 via mobile

It's a bit strange when you seat down and there is no menu or prices, but the staff is very helpful and they will explain prices and what food is in the dishes they serve. Very good quality food, desserts and service.

“Great food, great atmosphere,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011

We loved the atmosphere here, most of the seating is outside under a sun canopy, but dont worry if it is a little cool they bring out the patio heaters. There is a very good choice of tapas and they will tell you what they are if you are not sure. There is the little bread tapas and then, salads, pastas meat fish etc. Suggest you ask for small or half portions then you can have two or three between two people. The waiters are really helpful. We learnt that it is best to order a couple of things eat them and then go back and choose some more. That way you can eat at your own pace like the Spanish do. This place is very rustic and as the locals eat here you know its good. Food is reasonably priced too.

“Fantastic rustic tapas good atmosphere, helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2011

Lapikada is just across the road from its sister tapas bar Rapikada. We tried both but preferred this one as it is much more rustic. The tapas were good and cheap and were big portions so beware when choosing. The staff were very helpful, dont be shy in asking what is in each dish they are happy to tell you. The choice is vast. Would suggest you start off with a couple of the little bread tapas first and then move on to the bigger portions. Also 1/2 is plenty big enough for two people if you are having a few. The wine and beer was also reasonable. Very Spanish, very very nice.

“RUSTIC TAPAS : TRANSPORTS YOU SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2010

Highly recommended for those in search of tapas with a traditional atmosphere, Kerman La Pikada achieves the feel of rustic, small-town Spain despite being in a modern, international resort. Its secret is its location, set back off the road and with its open-air seating further set back from the pavement, shaded with canopies and with a cosy, dark wood array of small tables & chairs. This combined with the tree obscured outward views somehow visually/mentally transports you somewhere different, somewhere that seems to be well rooted, established and away from the bustle & hurly-burly.

Indoors where you choose your tapas, there is a traditionally Spanish (or rather Iberian, after all this a Basque restaurant) air, lots of more dark wood contrasting against colourful displays of food and drink. There was a rich treasure-trove of tapas to choose from and it’s served two or three dishes at a time. Very much a Spanish clientele, erring on the slightly dressier side - we thought there was a noticeable proportion of WAGs and/or ladies-who-lunch, sort of tapas with Hello/Hola! It was consequently a great place for people watching and soaking up the cultural atmosphere, especially as the actual seating area is relatively small giving it an intimate feel.

All in all, definitely worth a visit or two but do expect and try something different, or rather authentic, there’s no menu and little English (a good thing in my books!) and the staff were friendly/helpful if you got stuck. We paid upto €25-30 for various dishes and drinks, making for plentiful long lunches. I believe Kerman is linked to Repikada across the way but they are certainly two very different atmospheres and on balance, we very much preferred this one, but do try both.
