It was the day of our departure of the island and a very sunny and warm one as well. We decided to go for a drive into Costa Teguise town to get an afternoon lunch. We didnt want anything to heavy by way of a meal as we still had some travelling and whole airport check-in thing still to do. We picked La Hacienda because we had seen it packed many times before and the wide variety of the menu meant that there was plenty of choice to cater for all budgets.
It was a tad quieter in the afternoon so we decided to sit outside under the sun canopy. The waiter was right on our table within seconds bringing us menus and taking a drinks order. Within a couple of minutes the cold ice cokes arrived and tasted great in the afternoon heat. Again, approx 5-10 minutes later the waiter returned as we asked him to give us some time to check out the menu. He was very happy, upbeat and it made us feel that we were being given a good service. We opted for something simple, burger and chips. I got the burger with bacon, cheese, egg, salad...the works really, coupled with fries and coleslaw. In total around 7-8 euro's and worth every penny may I add. It was delicious.
It may have been a simple and inexpensive meal but a lasting impression of good quality service, tasty food and washed down with a nicely chilled pint of coke on a sunny afternoon of the final day of your holiday felt really nice and relaxing; a wind down to begin the journey home.
I am returning to CT next year and La Hacienda will most definitely be on my list of places to eat. I recommend it to anyone whether you want a snack or a full kit and caboodle meal.
