We have just spent a wonderful week at the Mitsis Family Village Kardemena Kos 21/5-28/5.
The bugalows were very comfortable & clean, clean linen lovely towels.
The Staff superb in all departments especially the dining room & bar staff, reception to.
The food was lovely, well cooked , well presented and plenty of variety, lovely salads and desserts also fresh fruit.
Our grandchildren 11 & 9 loved the food and really loved the waterpark, they had the Best Time.
The Norida had evening entertainment,( but by now the joint theatre should be up and running) we also visted the Summer Palace but we loved the Family Village the best.
Can't wait to go back and will certainly highly recommend this holiday, the view is glorious and breathtaking.
The only downside is if you struggle with hills it is quite steep but we were advised on this when booking.

I went to the mitsis family village with my friend as an end of the summer relaxing holiday. As other reviews have said, yes it is on a hill. Our room was right at the top of this hill but it was ok, we're young! The rooms were very nice and cleaned thoroughly every day with a great view. The pool is great but cold, was always plenty of sunbeds. The food was good,i recommend the crepes. There wasn't as good a selection for lunch. The all inclusive bar was good although they do give you very small soft drinks. The night time entertainment was embarrassing. However, it was so bad it was mildly entertaining! The daytime animation team pestered us a lot as did the male waiters in the restaurant, who asked to meet us when they finished their shift so they could come to our room - which we declined. They then ignored us for the rest of the holiday! The beach was very crowded when we went down there and the beach bar looked packed so we didn't spend much time at the beach. The steps were very steep, i felt like i was falling walking down them but from other reviews I have now seen that there was a lift we were unaware of! We were planning on going into Kardamena but when we realised how far away it was we decided not to. The road from Kardamena that leads up to the hotel is in complete darkness and would not have been safe for us to walk along at night. One other comment about this holiday was that I did get very ill one day and after speaking to other people at the hotel I found that a lot of other people had been ill too and had been told that there was a virus going round. Overall the holiday was a great laugh and very relaxing. Alex at the bar was lovely.

We went to the Family Village last September and it was really good. Great for the kids, plenty to do with all the sports, activities and of course the water park. We booked with 2bookaholiday and they requested and family suite for us which was fantastic as the room we got was on 2 floors and very spacious. Clean and tidy, the food was good, good selection etc and not always the same. The hotel also is very close to the beach which is a lovely beach, very big. Looking forward to going back again!

I'm 21 and my boyfriend is 22. We wanted to go somewhere that had a bit of nightlife yet still exuded some Greek charm. Kardamena represented this perfectly.

We arrived at the Holiday Village at 3 am but were shown to our rooms straight away which was great as we were really tired. The rooms are apartment style which is quite unusual as it was an all inclusive complex but it was definately a bonus. The room had a fully equipped kitchen, we didn't use these facilities but wwe did take advantage of the fridge and freezer. The rooms are huge, there would be plenty of room for four people to stay here.

Our room was located at the top of a hill, this was a bit of a pain as the heat in Greece in July was blisteringly hot and at times climbing the hill I felt like I was dying. This would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The view's from the room were beautiful, we had a sea view like all other apartments.

Breakfast in the hotel was ok, I never saw a British style cooked breakfast. it represented more of a continental breakfast but there was still plenty of choice.

The evening meal was absolutely gorgeous, you have to try the stonebaked pizza, they actually make the pizza in front of you, it is a real joy to watch. The food really was outstanding, the chef's worked really hard. The only downfall was that the restaurant's air con wasn't the best and so sometimes you would be literally roasting eating your food. The waiters and waitresses were not as attentive as I would have liked but they were very very busy. sometimes it would be difficult to get their attention for a drink, I think a self serve for soft drinks in a place as large as this is a must and perphaps something the hotel could look at doing.

There were a few pools dotted around the hotel, we used the main pool which was salt water which I didn't really like but I just dipped in and out which proved to be not a great deal to me.

The all inclusive snacks in the day were terrible, you could have some sort of cheap cheese and ham roll which I did not like or cake it was really disappointing for an all inclusive package I must say. The day meal was great but I would have preferred a snack bar as I had to change every time i went into the restaurant.

I must say I ws not impressed with the all inclusive drinks bar. The cocktails tasted strange and were never refrigerated so never cold. The queue's to get drink's in the night sometimes proved to be a problem and perhaps if they employed extra bar staff they could combat this.

The entertainment in the night was virtually non existent which is a great shame as Kardamenda is a few miles away and the way in which the hotel is situated it would be too dangerous to walk into town therefore you have to get a taxi and this can prove to be quite expensive if you want to visit around Greece.

Whilst there were a lot of negative points here I did love the holiday, the hotel does need to improve on one or two things but

Have just returned from the Norida Village and can honestly say we enjoyed every minute. Firstly lets get the only downside that most people did not like. IT IS ON A HILL but when we booked we knew this and it was less of a hill than we imagined. Once we arrived we were greeted by very friendly reception staff and as the restaurant was still open were asked if we would prefer to eat before we checked in. The staff appreciate that the hill is steep to some so they lay on transport to the room with your luggage. but trust me if you are of reasonable health you don't tend to notice it after a few days. The rooms were huge in comparison to a lot of hotels we have stayed in and were kept immaculately clean with towels changed every day and bed linen every other day and the views from the room are breathtaking (the bonus of being on a hill). The pool was a very good size but boy was it freezing being salt water and cleaned regular the temperature remains a bit cold. but there again we did go in october the pool was cold but boy it was fun.. The food that was on offer was very nice and well presented all fresh and plenty of choice, of course peole tend to say it is repetitive but if you have absolutely everything on the menu everyday it will. The restauraunt staff are very polite and give the impression that they are doing this because they like their job. The restaurant manager is very polite and reminds me a bit of an older version of Tony from hotel babylon. One word of advice there is a dress code for evening meals. Unlike most hotels for men no shorts and feet must be covered meaning shoes and no swimsuits for women. As for the cleanliness of the hotel i find it amazing if anyone gave this less than five out of five. The cleaners are working around the clock and they seem to love cleaning if it is needed or not. Now to the bar staff Edmund and Alex who were totally fantastic but beware they serve greek measures which are double the U.K. measures plenty of local spirits and numerous cocktails on offer and unlike every other all inclusive bar come five to twelve the come to your table and ask you if you would like another drink before they close. The beach bar is a must although the beach is shingle but with a cheap pair of beach shoes its not a problem. The bar on the beach is all part of the all inclusive package and when on the beach look to your left and you will see the lift which takes you up the hill. No need to pack beach towels either as in all hotels no room towels poolside or on the beach but for a small deposit they will supply a towel which when needs washing will exchange for a clean one and on departure when you return the towels you get your deposit back. We couldn't comment on the entertainment as we stayed for the last two weeks of the season and there was none which in one respect was a good thing. There is a very good bar nearby named the Disco Pub which advertise in the hotel but this is not part of the all inclusive, drinks are reasonably priced and show all major sports. Any rugby fans out there don't worry they will show rugby anytime. We stayed for a fortnight and didn't miss one game. Kardemena is 4.5km away and the hotel does lay on buses to and from there or if you use the local bus service it costs1.6 euro each way. We went into Kardamena on numerous occassions often stopped off at cafe1960/ Stellios' Place and just watch the world go by. Nisyros is a must on the volcano trip. one piece of advice do not go on the first coaches because everyone wants to get there first if you go on the second batch its less crowded. Was not impressed by Kos Town as they seem to have got rid of their history and built bars instead but saying that visiting Hippocrates tree made up for that. On the whole we may not return but this is because we never go to the same place twice but we whole heartedly recommend this hotel. it is rated four star and it is in every respect. On our last day as the hotel was closing we moved down to the five star norida beach don't get me wrong the norida beach is 5 star in every way but we left extatically happy we stayed at the norida family village.
By the way we are 30 and 40sometings and have no children so if you are a couple like us september and october is just right. Not many brits staying when we were the majority was german but don't let this put you off. talk to these people they are very friendly and many thanks to Olav and cornelia from Hamburg of which we enjoyed your company immensely. If i have missed anything it is not by choice. If next year you are thinking of booking this hotel all i can say is DO. Read other reviews they are all long and usually the longer ones are complaints all these are of praise. Even though we may not return to Kardamena if we see a hotel that belongs to Mitsis we know we can book with confidence. Once again a big thank you to all of the staff from management right through to the cleaners for making this a wonderful holiday and one we will allways remember.
