We stayed here for a week at the tail end of the Whitsun half term and has a fantastic time. Can't understand why there are so many bad reports, did they stay at the same hotel as us????
From the minute we set foot in hotel to the minute we left found the staff to be friendly, helpful and so hard working.
We had a family room just up the hill by the water park which had a great view out to sea towards the island of Nissyros (if you get chance go on the trip to Nissyros go it was a super day out, traditional Greek villages and a surreal walk into the crater of the volcano)
Our room had all we needed, although the beds weren't the most comfy, but this was only a week after all. Mini bar re-filled every 2nd day, room cleaned every day too.
the food was lovely, so much choice at each meal no matter what your taste/age etc. the cakes are just to die for, hence I no longer need a belt on my jeans!!!
the pools are a little chilly, but the kids loved them, and once your in then you don't notice it so much. The main pool was busy but we tended to sit around the water park or go to the beach where we had no trouble getting a lounger, make sure you have some sturdy flip flops or beach shoes as the shingle is quite hard on your feet.
The evening entertainment was quite good, obviously they aren't putting on West End shows, but no one took themselves to seriously, yes they mimed but it was quite comical and they all work so hard. therie tended to be italian themed entertainment at the little stage by the main bar and then English/German/Russian over in the theatre by the waterpark, ideal to be honest as there was plenty of room with a sliding roof, not to the same scale as Wimbledons new centre court roof, but would be a welcome relief at the height of summer.
Our girls (9 & 4) loved the mini club each afternoon, they really made a fuss of the kids and became good friends.
The main lobby area has about 30 giant sofa's which are great for lounging with a drink after dinner.
I could go on & on as we really loved this hotel and would definatley reccommend that you go, we would certainly return.
We did catch the bus into Kardamena and to be honest it was a bit of a dive, I am so glad we didn't stay there, although our girls love their 'tat' shops for bracelets etc. Mind you we found that the shop inside the hotel was very reasonable and well stocked for little gifts.
Please don't take any notice of the bad reviews, i know we all like different things, but you will love this hotel!!
