“Very good family friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I am a big fan of Skiathos and thought Zante may be disappointing it was not. The hotel is great for families. The friendliness of the hotel shone through to guest and we all talked and got on. The noise from the dogs and chickens is part of the charm. It is very Greek. Athena and Nikos had kids the same age as mine so that worked out great. I would not recommend this for single people or people wanting a quiet relaxing time. but families that need things for kids to do this is excellent. The place is constantly being cleaned and pool area. Also there is a restaurant called Essence in walking distance that has very high standard of food but must book. Thank you for a great holiday.
Also Sophia was an excellent bar maid.

Room Tip: for an extra 100 euros ask for the apartment which has a living room.

just returned from 2 week stay at the rainbow,we were in room 30 which overlooked the farm, dint mind the chickens crowing but the howling dogs constantly barking and howling at all hours did not result in a relaxing break, the staff worked hard all through are break but Nicko sometimes was over run behind the bar, and needed more help, nice family and sophia works her socks off all day, would be very dubious to stay here again.

3 girls arrived the 1st of July for a one week stay, everywhere is super clean, the rooms are a little dated (but we spent very little time in the room anyway) air conditioning is 6euros a night n worked perfectly! The shower is powerful but handheld (which was a bit of a pain). We asked for an extra pillow as one was not quite enough as they were quite thin and within an hour they were brought to our room. The walls are quite thin and it can be a bit noisy at times particularly the farm behind but this wasn't really a major issue n out of their control. The pool area is also super clean, plenty of sunbeds n no need to get up super early 2 get one! Sophia behind the bar is fantastic and nothin is to much trouble! Nikos and his family are great also. The food is amazing, we were self catering and mainly had breakfast or lunch here and it was great all homemade and delicious and cheap. It's in a great position and only a few minutes walk from the strip (restaurants, shops and bars) a taxi to laganas was only 8euros n was only a 5 minute ride away too! I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends :)

Had three weeks there . Great if can sleep through the allnight barking of the local dogs , the crowing of the local fowl , clanging of the goat bells , vibration of the extraction units , local traffic . The maid service was poor and infrequent mainly due to under staff and youcan't blame the girls for the torn sheets and thread bare towels . You may be really lucky and have your neighbours air conditioning unit on YOUR balcony , great tofeelthe blast of hot air while you are enjoying a noisy drink . The resot is lovely ,just find a better location

Room Tip: Some rooms are well worn with cot size beds with worn out mattresses , seach and find , WISH YOU LUC...

We decided to return to Kalamaki 15 years after our first visit and it was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Rainbow Apartments.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely smiling face of Sophie we were made to feel welcome. Nicos and Athena always had time to stop for a chat despite being very busy organising Karaoke nights, quizes and bingo. Not sure if this is normal or if they were catering for the "Paula R" group (see previous review) who were a great bunch and gave us people watchers plenty of entertainment!! "ooooh nooooo".
The food at the hotel was great but we wanted to return to some old haunts and visited the Diaz and Michelos restaurants where the food and local wine was as good as we remembered and also the Cave Bar which has a great laid-back atmosphere and lovely views across the town, coast and sunsets over the nearby hills.
We struggled to find any negatives, and these were nothing to do with the hotel, however, we walked along the beach to where we stayed last time at the Kalamaki Beach Hotel and the build-up of weed along that stretch was very messy, with banks of it about 2 foot deep.
Laganas seems to have got even busier than we remembered but we only made a flying visit to see how the other half lived!
Great holiday, brilliant weather, great welcome. What more can you ask for?

We were greeted like old friends by Nicos and Athena, made to feel very welcome indeed. We were in part of the older section of the hotel which is slowly undergoing renovation. Some of our party were in the new 3rd floor, and these were very much superior, that aside, we had a wonderful time, the pool is great and the food very good, lots of local dishes as well as international. I would not hesitate to go there again.

Room Tip: The new 3rd floor would be the place to try for if available.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay with a group of friends at The Rainbow. The family and all the staff really know how to make you feel welcome. They obviously realise the importance of taking care of all of their guests and our expectations were met on every level. Nothing is too much trouble. We went half board and the food on offer was really good and very tasty! We were lucky enough to stay in the newly built rooms (35, 36 and 37) which have amazing views to the coast. Modern bathrooms, great showers and nice furniture with balconies plus quiet air conditioning. The pool is a great size and the pool area spacious with plenty of sunbeds etc. Lunch brought to our outside table felt a real treat and the menu is vast! Freshly cooked and prepared food is on offer at all times. Niko's mum is a star chef! The Kleftico is highly recommended! We wont hesitate to book our holiday break here again. Can't wait!

Room Tip: As above, 35, 36 and 37 are newly built, modern, and with great views to the sea.
