5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2010

We have just got back home on Sunday (18th Oct) and am missing it already.

I have already written 3 reviews on the Roseland and cannot praise them enough, as usual we were given a lovely warm welcome by the owners and staff which was genuine and sincere, So much so I have booked next year's holiday while we were there. Thanks to Katrina, Vikki and Georgia for a wonderful holiday

As our title sugests it was the fist time to any greek island, our most common holiday destination is Egypt so a bit of a change for us.

Compared to decent Egyptian hotels the room was a fair bit smaller, however it was clean & was fine for our weeks stay. The pool & comunial areas were cleaned every day.

Breakfast & food in general at the hotel was fine, perhaps less choive than some other countries but still enjoyable. Eating out in Kalamaki was always good. TESORO on the main strip was excelent value & great food as was the local bakery, nice cakey stuff there!

All in al a pleasant change for us and would have no hesitaition returnig to The Roseland & Kalamaki -- hopefully next may!

We stayed at the Roseland for 2wks, our stay was great, weather was super the people we met were friendly and Kalamaki itsself is not a bad place to go.#
The only downside to the Roseland was the Breakfast, it was the same every day, no choice!. The cleanliness was brill and the reception staff were so friendly.
Ideal for families and couples. I would go back, but no breakfast for me.
Lots of good resturants in Kalamaki, we would recopmmend the Parthenon and Olive Tree.

We stayed at the Roseland hotel for 11 days in September,we found the room to be clean and the bed was not the most comfortable as the mattress was very hard. The only thing that was wrong with the room was the wardrobe which had been flooded out and not cleaned properly.
The meals were of good value and very enjoyable, again the only thing that was missing from the hotel no entertainment for the 11 days we stayed there, football on TV every night not for those who dont like sport. apart from this the hotel met our expectations. Take your boots as the walk to the main strip was a good 10mins walk.

my wife and i have just returned from the roseland hotel after a 10 night stay,
We read most of the reviews on this hotel before we went, and my honest opinion i couldn't fault it.The cleanliness was top standard and the rooms and staff were very accommodating, also not just at the hotel but all bars and restaurants we visited. The hotel was situated in a fantastic location so we could get out and about to all amenities easterly,we ate at many restaurants in kalamaki including the hotel and there wasn't a place that served bad or cold food,we found the whole of kalamaki a great place and great value for money,we will be going back next year.thank you greece!!!!

After deciding on a week in zante and kalamaki we wanted to stay b&b and the roseland was the hotel that seemed to stand out both on thomson website and based on trip advisor reviews. only approx 64 rooms on three floors. hotel situated ideally for kalamaki bars and restaurants on strip and also close to beach. although rooms are not very modern they are clean only slight disapppointment was the bathroom and the bedding had seen better days. very little noise encountered at night and three door window system shut out virtually all noise. room 115 1st floor. little variation with continental breakfast but adequate enough. evening meals were also served in hotel which seemed quite popular and reasonabley priced. several eating places to choose from at night serving both greek dishes as well as italian mexican english etc. ate at heavens kitchen dias michaelos merlis olive tree all of an equally good standard. pool at hotel is nice and quiet and relaxed with plenty of sunloungers available. weather was glorious approx 30c all week not a drop of rain, the beach at kalamaki is the has the cleanest and clearest sea i have every seen and is very shallow even when you go in quite a way from the shore. would not recommend laganas walked there along the seafront one day and more or less turned straight back on arrival it quite tacky. the planes arriving and departing are fascinating to watch you will never be closer to a plane in the air again. you can see the runway from the main street. coach transfer on reflection was not necessary a taxi transfer would be better as airport is literally a three or four minute journey alway. all in all very pleasantly surprised with kalamaki ideal for a relaxing break in the sun away from it all. would recommend roseland but if we go again we would look at a different hotel offering b&b possibly only because of the water dripping thorough the ceiling in our bathroom (this may not be the case in every bedroom. ) other than in july and august air conditioning safe and fridge have to be paid for.
