“Fantastic hotel,service and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

A superb 2 week holiday - Nik and his staff couldn't be more welcoming.
We had a room at the back with afternoon shade and a garden view - great for cooling off in the evening and a quiet nights sleep. Pool view rooms have the sun all day and some say can be too hot after a day sun bathing.
Food was very good and the BBQ evening is a must.
We booked direct and really appreciated the inclusive package of air conditioning, safe, fridge etc.
A kettle and bath in Greece???? - a bonus!
Strongly advise at least one days car hire and visit the west coast and mountains - easily done in 1 day.
Lovely restaurants - we enjoyed:
Greek Night at Stani's Taverna near the beach - Sunday
Escape - just down from Venus
Essence
Dias - other side of the strip
Cocktails at the Cave Bar
Michaelo's

We also had a fabulous day on a yacht booked via the Thomson Rep - Megan even though we were not booked through them.

All in all - fantastic hotel, service and value

I have stayed at this hotel twice now (which I never do), the first was in 2009 and the second time in 2011. Both times were absolutely wonderful but it is the staff there really make this hotel. They are always so friendly, welcoming and always want to talk to you. It is a family run hotel and you really do feel at home here. That said, the food is great especially dinner in their restaurant, rooms are wonderful and spacious and always clean with great views and the pool is lovely. The beach is a short walk away as is the main road with a variety of taverns and shops. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. I cannot fault this hotel, absolutely love it!

Got back on the 23 rd after a weeks stay. Booked direct after reading all the reviews although some of the regulars book a package to laganas then book the accomodation with hotel cheaper than air flight alone ! As everyone says nothing too much for nick and his wonderful staff, Fortis is a delight at the pool restaurant very friendly and helpful, bar staff giving lovely sneaky shots and cocktails at 3 euros delightful.the beach is nothing special the sun umbrellas need replacing and full of Germans and Russians at the crystal beach end. The venus was full of very friendly English many as you will have gathered come year after year. The pool was very clean and warm although not surprising as some days 38 degrees. Food at hotel lovely and some fab restaurants in town you must go to essence off the beaten track and. A little dearer but well worth it beautifully presented food the hotel will book. Table for you ...there are only 9. Also try the cave bar for some good pictures we ate at zepos ambrosia the venus michaelos all good also look up bar I believe although we didn't eat there. Ten euros to the town . . Not that exciting all in all a chilling week great singer at hotel after bar b q on Wednesday. Oh the escape restaurant opposite very freindly just watch out for the mozziez .

We haven't been to the Greek Islands since 1987 and had a lovely stay in this excellent hotel and beautiful resort of Kalamaki. We only stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it so much we are planning to return for a week in June 2014, and we never return to the same hotel as so many other places to visit.

The hotel staff are so welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble and extra little touches that make all the difference. The pool was lovely and we always got a sunbed anytime during the day and it was very peaceful around the pool, no loud music blaring out like some hotels (am getting old). Breakfast was good and plentiful, food always being topped up by staff. Lovely big comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The bathroom was big enough (twice the size of a recent French hotel bathroom!) with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. I know it's been said already but this is certainly a 3 star hotel with 5 star service and I have stayed in a few hotels over the years. We ate out in Kalamaki, plenty of choice and had good meals at very reasonable prices - 2 euros for a glass of wine! I loved the walk to the beach down the country lane and the beach itself was never overcrowded or noisy. Yes the planes do come in over the beach, but not that often and it's fascinating watching them and they don't spoil the resort. Overall a very relaxing short break in a peaceful resort with entertainment if you want it or you can just escape to some of the quiet Tavernas away from the main strip. Highly recommend the Venus Hotel and Kalamaki, you can't go wrong!

I stayed here with my daughter 10 years ago in June/July 2003 and we had a fabulous holiday here. I remember the staff were lovely and friendly and made us very welcome. The whole place was immaculate and clean. We had no trouble getting a sunbed by the pool but we also spent time by the beach which is a short walk down the road. Back then we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis only and the breakfast was delicious. I had no complaints and enjoyed our week at the Venus. I wonder if the people that run it now did so 10 years ago when we stayed.

This was our first visit to the Venus hotel, on reading all the excellent reviews we were hoping it lived up to our expectations.
Without a doubt it did, the lovely friendly staff are what makes this hotel so great, as people have said nothing is too much trouble. Everyone was so lovely we hope to return soon.
The rooms are immaculately clean, thanks to our maid Roza who made sure everything was pristine every day. The bathroom was small but adequate for our needs.
We had a lovely room at the front overlooking the pool, Room 317 it did get the hot sun in the afternoon and evening which did become very hot toward the end of our holiday.
What struck us more than anything is the fact that every one of the staff are genuinely helpful and could not do enough for you.
Most all of the other guests we spoke to were on return visits, that in itself says it all, most of the guests were English and all so friendly, Steak Out night on a Wednesday is not to be missed, amazing food, music and company, Maria & Nick did an awesome job BBQ’ ing the meat it was perfect.
We really could not find anything wrong and thoroughly enjoyed our stay as people have previously said 3* accommodation 5* hospitality, if you book this hotel you will not be disappointed thank you Nick and all your staff hope to see you soon.
If you have time visit Bob & Dan at the Mini Golf just along the track in front of the hotel, they are so welcoming and a great way to spend the afternoon, with snacks & a cool drink in lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Location of this hotel is wonderful a short walk to the strip with lovely restaurants and shops, and a steady afternoon stroll to the beach made our holiday relaxing and unforgettable.
We had the awesome experience of standing in the sea waist deep around 4 o clock in the afternoon and the turtles came in so close we were able to photograph them, amazing!
Can’t wait to return next year.

Room Tip: Our room was 317, excellent view overlooking pool, afternoon & evening sun, sometimes too hot ro...
