“Enjoyable 2 weeks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Stayed 14-28 july. Just returned from a very enjoyable 2 week stay at the Bitzaro Palace. This is a small quiet hotel with very welcoming Staff. As previously described by other reviewers, the hotel is no 4 Star accommodation, the rooms are basic but clean, however the baths are laughable, our 4 year old niece thought it was perfect as she could JUST stretch out in it. The food is of good quality but a bit samey if that's a reasonable description, at least it was for us. Eating out is very reasonable with loads of good places to eat on the kalamaki strip. Entertainment is provided in the Bitzaro Grand 5 mins walk. Not brilliant with limited seating at the poolside entertainment area, get there early.
The quiet and relaxed atmosphere enables many families and couples to chat and enjoy good company. Hello to Ken and Vere, pat and Margaret also to dean and Bernie and the 2 kids ruby and connor. it was lovely to meet you and thoroughly enjoyed your company.
overall, this is a lovely place to stay don't expect the Ritz, but do expect friendly staff and lovely guests.

Had a lovely week here at Bitzaro Palace! Transfer was 10 minutes BONUS! The room was basic, but did the job, with the hotel being only small everything was within good proximity! There were no need to wake up in the early hours to get a spot by the pool. The planes did fly low to the hotel but not a problem, only about 4/5 a day. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from kalamaki strip (couple of bars, shops and lots of yummy restaurants, we would highly recommend the 'olive tree' to have a bite to eat)! There was no entertainment at night, but this suited us just fine! This hotel would suit couples and small families who are looking for a quiet holiday! :)

Took a very late booking to this hotel - booked Monday afternoon and flew early Tuesday morning. From 1 - 16 July. The reviews seemed good. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant, clean pool, food fantastic - we enjoyed every moment. One thing I would warn you of - please remember to take larger clothes to wear towards the end of the holiday. I promise you, you will need them with the food on offer - it is excellent - fresh, well presented and plenty of it. The room we had was pretty standard and the only fault was the bathroom - it was tiny - take out the mini bath and put in a shower, please. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the beach. Entertainment in the hotel at night is very limited, but this suited us - and fortunately for us there was none during the day. We took a visit one evening to the Bitzaro Grande and realised that we had made the right choice going to the Bitzaro Palace.
PS you do get used to the cockerel at 5am (eventually)

Room Tip: Rooms to one side of the hotel cannot be accessed via a lift - long way to carry cases up two flight...

Just returned from 7 nights at the Bitzaro Palace... I wasn't sure what to expect as my friend had booked the holiday and sorted out all the details.

Initially I guess I was slightly disappointed at the quality of the room we were given, we had no drinks making facilities and as a coffee addict I really missed that first cup of the day when I woke up (soon resolved by shooting over to the restaurant and grabbing one in a take away cup)...plus the air conditioning appeared to be not working, a nightmare when you are pre-menopausal and trying to get ready (resolved by the wiggling of the patio doors until they are aligned with the sensors above the door) so with these two negative points why give the hotel an excellent rating???

Well by the end of the first night, the bar staff were like old friends, we had sussed the seating convention of the restaurant and the arrangements for the buffet, we had started to talk to loads of people and the whole atmosphere was both relaxed and friendly.

So about those areas. As mentioned by others we realised early on that we weren't welcome at the "sister" hotel but that wasn't a problem... we enjoyed the variety of drinks on offer to us, all being cocktail drinkers we drank all we could muster (thanks to Dennis, Tim and George), the terrace was a great place to meet and socialise with others and we all had a laugh. Esme did a fine job trying to get people interested in the hotels entertainment and we took part in all the quizzes throughout the week (reigning music quiz champs ;O). The restaurant was top notch so much on offer there was always something for everyone and believe me, we tried it all !!!

The pool area is large and getting a sunbed wasn't a problem at all most people stuck to the rules of non reservation... the poolside was well maintained and kept very clean by all the hotel staff as was all the general public areas.

We hired a car for a fantastic two days (through our travel agents) @ 103 euros where we explored the circumference of the entire island. This meant that we could take our time with no constraints. I thoroughly recommend this as a way of seeing the sights at your own pace (although hairy in parts on some of the mountainside roads!!!)

Overall we all had a fantastic holiday, very very chilled and relaxed I stuck around the hotel in the evenings and let my younger travel companions try out all the local nightlife in both Kalamaki and Laganas, although we all took a 10 euro taxi ride into Zante Town to try a tremendous fish restaurant that Dennis recommended one evening.
.
A big hello to everyone we met from Karen, Lu, Mel and myself... Alison and Mark from Essex, Sally and Neil from London, Sean and Den from Essex, Paul from Long Sutton and everyone else who made us four girls very welcome... just sad it had to come to an end :(

Returned Friday 19th July , excellent holiday exactly as described in the brochure food was excellent breakfast 8_10 v good full English snacks 10_12 and 2_6 excellent all cooked fresh each order no longer than 5 minutes would be nice if they had a photo menus rather than having to ask what they have. Lunch 12.30_2 good nice choice and evening meal 7_9 nice fresh homemade choice.booked in at reception within 5 min was given a ground floor room but on inspection requested a move 2 the top floor as the balcony on the ground floor had no privacy the receptionist was fine with this game me 302 top floor much better room the bed was so comfy as other reviews mention the bathroom is not the best and the shower I think can be rather tricky for older people as the bath is verry small to stand in .the receptionest said you should e-mail for choice of floors Hired a safe 30 euro 2 weeks. Drinks excellent hi to Dennis baker in the day barman by night, our rep was a lovely girl always smiling, plenty of sunbeds even around the pool you could always find a couple, weather baking hot did c 1 cloud pass over the sun lasted about a minute made every 1 sit up like meerkats. Walk to the beach 10 min not the best due to the heat as for the beach brilliant not the biggest but nice and now the sea stunning and warm u can walk out 150 mtr as 4 value every cheap to eat and drink cold cans of coke 1.20 ,30 sec from the beach 2 euro 4 a large bottle of beer in most bars and the restaurants 7_ 12 euro if you fancy a meal out' boat trips where brilliant big hello 2 all the friends we met sorry no good with names mother and daughter from Wales taxi driver from east Midlands and both me neighbours yeovil and Bedford. Only down side to the holiday was the mosquitoes some people looked like they had been blasted with a shotgun don't 4 get your spray but I will finish with the best part of the holiday the flight home took of an hour late 2 Birmingham but was diverted to east Midlands due 2 a damaged run way so sat on the plane waited 4 a bit of tarmacking at Birmingham re-fueled and took off back to Birmingham fun 10 flight so the journey lasted 5 her not 3 hope you pick this holiday as it was brilliant

My friend and I have just returned from a 10-day holiday at the Bitzaro Palace Hotel and what a wonderful time we had. From the moment of our arrival all our needs were catered for and all the staff were excellent and really friendly. They all worked extremely hard and nothing seemed too much trouble for them and we were well looked after throughout our holiday. The hotel is very well managed and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was cleaned daily with fresh towels every other day (daily if required). The pool and garden area were also cleaned thoroughly every day. It was really relaxing by the pool as there was very little piped music and no animation to disturb the peace. There really was no need to reserve sun loungers as there always seemed to be plenty available for everyone no matter what time of day you returned to the hotel. We had great fun playing on the blow-up lilos which hotel guests had bought for use during their holiday and then left behind for other guests to use. The food was superb and exceptionally tasty and there was certainly enough variety for everyone. Your evening drink order is taken at your table so there is no need to queue at the bar. George’s soup was delicious and Konstantina and Tim saw to our every need with a lovely smile. Our only small grouse was the packed lunch we requested for one of our sea excursion trips – we were given a large cheese and ham club sandwich but there was no drink or fruit included. The sandwich came wrapped in cling film instead of in a box and, by lunchtime, looked squashed and completely inedible. We were fortunate in meeting some lovely people and spent a lot of our holiday chatting and having a good laugh (thanks go to Lynne and David and Kev and Paula – we’ve missed you since our return home)!! Apart from the one small complaint about the packed lunch we could not find fault with this hotel in any way - everything was first class. Thank you Bitzaro Palace for a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool and gardens are lovely.

We checked in on monday the 1st of july in the morning and we were showed our room which was spacious and clean. We had a view of the side gardens which were ok but not as good as a pool room view, the bathroom was small and a little out dated, the toilet seat needed replacing as there was brown rust stains on it that wouldnt come off, the balcony light didnt work either small gripes really, we then went to get a safe rental which were cheap enough but were told that because of our arrival we would need to pay for an extra night as we were leaving at 3.30 in the morning two mondays after, we didnt mind paying the 40 euros but first choice should have told us which they did not, the staff all work extra hard in this hotel and seem happy and polite but with the work load its fair to say they can seem a little glum sometimes, tim the waiter and bar man was a great guy and so was george "souper man" ( you will see what i mean at evening meals lol) and dennis was good at the evening bar. Food was good and better than eating out which we did only twice, ( dont go yamas restauraunt overpriced and poor quality, iguana bar was
good :) ) the drinks at bitzaro palace were ok the spirits were strong when you have no ice as this waters it down obviously.the beer great the soft drinks not so.
The pool was big enough and a gem in the heat. All in all a good holiday the dissapointment came in the form of our transfer rep from thomson who was rude snidey and even caused disruption at the airport on our return due to her complete unprofessionalism,

Go here if you want a cheap relaxing break but take your own heinz ketchup as the mrs hated what they refilled theirs with lol
