“AMAZING HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We stayed there from 17 - 25 july ,the hotel staff was so friendly the girls at the reception very helpful .We were all inclsive so we had breakfast ,lunch , dinner and snacks everything was perfect the buffet was so rich that everyone could find the ideal food and different menu every day. At night time we enjoed the cocktails that george was making at the pool bar ,the third day we also enjoed the karaoke at the main bar of Cavo d'oro it was so much fun .Rooms were cleaned every day something that is really important .The beach was just 5 minutes walk away from the hotel !! Will defenately go back next year or september , it really felt like home !!

Room Tip: Choose G3 3rd floor

Depending on what room type you get, you'll have vastly differing experience. The standard rooms are too small and unconveniently located (cramped balconies facing the other building or a noisy pool - no privacy whatsoever); on the other hand, the apartments (G5) are quite a different story - they are spacious with 2 balconies and with the seaview they are just fantastic! Food is tasty, abundant (even if with relatively small choice) - breakfasts totally repetitive, lunches and dinners very good (but not excellent). The fat guy guarding the drinks at the pool bar is not very customer-friendly, he is sometimes quite unnecessarily unpleasant when trying to limit the consumption of all-inclusive drinks by customers (the idea to limit alcohol consumpton is good, but his performance is not!).
All in all, a very good (apartments) or decent (standard rooms) hotel. Just do sth with the fatman!

Room Tip: Only go for the apartments (not standard-rooms) with the sea-view (1st, 2nd floor). It's an exce...

This was our first visit to Kalamaki!
Me, my wife and my two children stayed at Cavo Doro Hotel for 1 week in June and we are planning to return for another week in September!
The hotel was very clean, peaceful, friendly, and relaxing… It’s in a really good location, close to the main street and literally a 3 min walk to the beach!! The rooms are in good order and kept spotlessly clean. Gardens are kept very nice and comfortable for sitting around in.
Staff were friendly, pleasant, and service was exceptional and warming.
The food was incredible in quality and choice, with a very good selection of hot and cold food-. Although All Inclusive, we had expected to eat out a couple of times, but we didn't bother!
We hope that the few thoughtless comments from a few people do not deter people from visiting the Cavo Doro as it truly is fantastic and we would not hesitate to recommend it, since we had a very nice holiday staying there - with no complaints at all, and that is exactly what you want from your holiday.

Having stayed here for the past two years we were wondering what effect the new management would have had on the lovely Cavo D'Oro.
Emily was very pleasant on reception, and although we had a small wait, we eventually got into our chosen room - block G 309, 2nd floor with a wonderful view over the sea (I could not get enough of the view). There was a balcony to the bedroom and also a seperate balcony for the living area which was nice, but the beds were VERY hard.
The rooms were very clean and kept that way by a host of cheery cleaners, with our sheets being changed every 48 hours as it was very hot when we were there.
The changes we noticed were that the area around the pool had shrunk as it has now been taken over by an al fresco dining area. A decked area has been created though with extra sunbeds and a fence now runs the length of the deep end of the pool to prevent anybody falling in by accident - still very climbable by small children though.
The dining area and hotel are now geared up to all inclusive and we found that the standard of food had dropped considerably, the nice big fat omlettes with salad and chips had shrunk considerably (and were very greasy) and the salad had disappeared completely. The milk shakes were no longer thick but thin and half the size so we ate elsewhere for the rest of the week. Hera, Zepo's Antonis and Lesandros (Good toasted bacon and egg sarnies).
One warning - watch out for the mozzies as they eat you alive! Oh and whent he dogs stop barking the cockeral starts!

Room Tip: Sea views 2nd floor G block - not third floor as you cannot see over the balcony wall.

Hotel rooms were very basic. Is was clean and spacious. Location was good near to beach (about 300metres). Pool area was quite small but not crowded. Breakfast wasn't that good for example you can get much better breakfast from "Grazy Golf" (mini golf place were you can also eat) and also even lower price.

We arrived at the hotel about 12:30 and check in wasn't till 2:00 and we were prepared to wait however the hotel had a room ready for us after half an hour and we had an upgrade to an apartment which was great. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a 7 night stay including an electric kettle and toaster. We had a change of linen every 2 days and the apartment was cleaned everyday. The location was very central to everything and importantly it was quiet at night, no noisy dogs or cockerals! The best bar in the area is The Cave Bar with hosts Nikos and Yiannis followed by Mojitas just along from the hotel and P & P's round the corner towards Laganas. We hired a vehicle from Traffic who were very competative on prices and had a good customer service.
All in all the holiday was a great big HIT with us and we will return to the Cavo d'Oro.
