“Good location, but noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

This B&B is clean and the rooms are large (semi-suites), but the rooms have a street window and traffic seems to flow most of the night. Also, our bathroom only had 7 foot walls, and even though the bed was in a separate space, a fully enclosed bathroom would have been preferable. The proprietor is a nice guy and the breakfasts were good, but the pool wasn't open either. It is only a block from the Zocalo and staying in Tlaquepaque is a quieter small town experience than Guadalajara with local entertainment at the Parian and great shopping, so it's worth a stay. But Casa Armonia does not measure up for the price.

I am from Puerto Rico and decided to take a vacation in Guadalajara. I was searching all over as the Panamerican games were taking place and there was hardly any hotel, motel, etc. to stay at. I was lucky enough to have a family member in Guadalajara that made my reservation at a hotel I had never heard of or seen. My first impression was Wow! This place is incredible. Very quaint ! When you first check in the actual owner is there on the property to serve you. The rooms are decorated with vintage furniture. By the way there is only 5 rooms available. It has a pool and Spa, and a Temescal (Native Indian Sweat Lodge). I did this with my girlfriend for the first time. It was amazing! Breakfast is served every day 8-11am and again, owner is there to make you any style eggs. Victor is his name and he has 3 other employees that will take care of any of your needs. You are actually located one block for the Tlaquepaque center. A lot of restaraunts, shopping. etc. Things to do, Visit Tequila, Tonala ( place to purchase anything and everything) If you ever stay here tell them Rafa Marquez sent ya. You wont get a discount but atleast you will be like family. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for Room across check in. It is nice and big

I am an American living in Mexico and love to explore all that Mexico offers. This lovely small hotel is a true find located in the heart of Tlaquepaque. It consists of two converted old homes into five unique rooms filled with all the wonderful artesania of Tlaquepaque. Each room is special and different with antique touches and talavera tile in the baths. The beds are excellent and the rooms are very quiet for being located in the heart of the city. El Parian, the center of Tlaquepaque, where you will find one city block of restaurants and the wonderful Mariachi musicans, is only one block away. All of the best shopping that Mexico has to offer and your choice of excellent restaurants are a short 10 minute walk. The owner, Victor, is a charming and very accomodating host who is happy to assist with your requests. He also speaks English perfectly. A delicous breakfast is prepared to order each morning by an attentive staff. The hotel also offers a pool and spa facility if you would like a message after a full day of shopping, sightseeing and dining. Having taken several trips to Tlaquepaque (Guadalajara), I would not even consider another hotel. This B & B has all the comforts a person could ask for. Spoil yourself and spend a few days here.

Room Tip: All the rooms here are equally good and quiet in the evening

We are snow birds who spend the winter in Puerto Vallarta. Each year we venture out to explore a different part of Mexico. This year’s trip was a six-day, five-night trip to the Guadalajara area. While there we stayed at the aptly-named Casa Armonia (Harmony House), in Tlaquepaque. The hotel is a bed and breakfast located one block from the city’s main plaza and Calle Juarez, one of Tlaquepaque’s main shopping streets.
Casa Armonia completely reflects the vision and imagination of its bright, friendly, accommodating young owner and developer, Victor Hugo Cueto Valencia. About five years ago, Victor, a Tlaquepaque native, saw the potential of two old adjoining houses that had been abandoned for thirty years. He purchased the houses and remodeled the interior of the property, while retaining much of its exterior to reflect the historic style of the neighborhood. The result of Victor’s efforts is a hotel of five spacious rooms built around a beautiful and restful interior patio, swimming pool, and spa. Any reader who should ever have the pleasure of staying at Casa Armonia should ask Victor to tell them the story of the artifact-covered wall adjoining the pool. That story reveals much about Victor’s determination to achieve his vision.
If there is anything more impressive than the appearance of and basic services provided by Casa Armonia, it is the warmth and friendliness of Victor and his staff. They were more than willing to accommodate any reasonable, and perhaps even some slightly unreasonable, requests.
The area around Casa Armonia, has the air of a country town with an attractive, enjoyable, accessible central plaza. The city provides numerous dining opportunities that range from Continental cuisine to down-home Mexican cooking. Tlaquepaque offers a compact, less hectic setting than downtown Guadalajara and the delightful Casa Armonia is at the heart of it
