I stayed at the Media Luna for 4 nights. Josefina, the owner/manager, speaks fluent English and is very friendly. Their breakfast is to die for - fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee (rather weak), fruit plate, eggs, and toast or pancakes - you do not walk away hungry. My single room was 400 pesos ($40 US) which I thought was too much. It was much like the Mexican hotels I remember paying $15 per night for 15 years ago. I looked but could not find a more reasonably priced hotel. Oh, well! My room was tiny, but I welcomed the air conditioning and TV. There was also a window so I could get some fresh air. The bed was comfortable and the other guests and staff were relatively quiet although Tlaquepaque is not! It is only two doors off the Zocalo (some rooms are on the zocalo) so you're right in the middle the lively night and day life of Tlaquepaque, a chic town full of art galleries and cafes. Nice linen shop there. Don't miss the huge artisan market in nearby Tonala on Sundays and Thursdays (I think). I was misdirected to the permanent one in the Zocalo which is so confusing that, after awhile, you don't know east from west.
