“Beautiful spot for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

This is a great place to relax and enjoy a cold drink and a break from the sun. The staff were friendly and the service very good.
We shared a cheese sandwich for a light lunch, it was wonderful! Imported Irish cheddar on home made bread with freshly cooked potato chips, a real treat!
It was fairly expensive but we really enjoyed the food. There's a great selection of European and local dishes to choose from

“Terrible Meal.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

I ate at The Craic House with friends back in December last year and it was probably one of the worst meals I had on Malapascua.

On arrival nobody seemed interested in serving us. I know service is not usually the best in the Philippines, but this was really bad. Despite trying to get the waitress' attention several times and her just walking right past us, we decided to stick with it, having heard good things about the food.

In the end we walked up to the bar to get menus and order drinks. We decided to order the 'special' as a lot of the other items on the menu were out of stock. What a mistake!

Tiny portion of super dry chicken served with potatoes and mush.

Not what was expected at all - given the reviews and the fact that The Craic House was one of the most expensive places to eat on Malapascua (at the time at least). The decision was unanimous to never return to the Craic House again!

“Fav little spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at a near by resort and wished I had discovered The Craic House sooner. Service received was exceptional! Ladies were sweet and always stopped by to see if I needed anything additional, great view, and nice cold San Migs! Be polite and you'll receive it in return.

“Friendly environment for tasty dishes & drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

I ate a majority of my meals at the Craic House while staying on Malapascua to dive for longer than two weeks. The food was surprisingly good for such a remote island. They go out of their way to provide their customers with a menu filled with pleasant surprises and twists on old-time favorites. Using quality imports as well as freshly grown herbs and veggies from their own garden, they are rising to the varied demands of international travelers. Some of my favorites are the black bean veggie burger, chili con carne, and tuna steak, but the breakfast options were especially nice as well. They offer daily lunch, starter, and main dish specials, and these were some of the better meals I had throughout my stay. They hit it out of the park with their wraps at lunch - quick, delicious, and affordable!

The 'Craic Dealers' are pleased to offer you cool drinks after a day in the sun or underwater. The shakes are pleasant, banango being quite popular, but my favorite was relaxing with a coffee shake while chatting up new friends about their diving that day. The Craic House can become lively near dinnr or afterwards, but Malapascua is a quiet island, and guests are more likely to call it a day early in order to make the 5am shark dive.

What makes this establishment stand out above other restaurants/bars I've frequented in the Philippines and other Asian destinations is their focused attention to your personal wishes. Prefer your eggs done a specific way in the morning? Craving a special combination that isn't on the menu? At the Craic House your expectations are met by attentive local staff who treat their guests like they are part of the family.

“Laid back atmosphere with good food and friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at Evolution for a week and ate most of my meals here. Breakfast was good. Tried all the dishes: eggs, pork, fish, muselli. Their imported coffee and shakes are also very nice. Lunches were more hit and miss but generally good. Dinners were pretty tasty. Their BBQ special is also good and a lot of fun. You grill the food over charcoal at your table. The staff was very nice and friendly and, as other reviews have noted, they remember the customers' names giving the service more personal touch. One small annoyance is the house flies but they're everywhere on the island.
