I read the 2 worst reviews. First, Chef Marx is no longer there. The gentleman who worked with him is now head chef, chef Rocha so I see how you may be upset if you travelled a long way for someone but I travelled from Toronto, Canada and was not the least disappointed. The lady complaining about too fast of service is humorous.
I enjoyed snails, canard confit, caramel dessert, cheese, many breads and 3 different butters. We had the fixed price menu pre arranged by Gourmet touring. Each dish was carefully balanced and I can't remember the last time I had French fine dining even close to this. A word to the wise, this Medoc region,more specifically Bages is not for rich people, it's for wealthy people. What's the difference? The people who eat here have rich people that work for them while they are enjoying a 2 hour lunch.
Compared to North American standards you will not find a restaurant of this quality anywhere in Canada or US.
I suggest you dress accordingly for a 4 star restaurant then sit back and enjoy, after all,not all of us get this type of service everyday, and for the ones that do, don't give a poor review because the poor guy brought the wrong 300€ bottle of Lynch-Bages by accident.
