“A great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

From the moment you are greeted you feel welcome and that all will be taken care for you. Any issues are promptly solved. The location is isolated from the hectic Playa del Carmen, but if you rent a car you will enjoy its location more.

Amarte Maroma provides an exceptional value for the money. In terms of getting things arranged and taken care of for the guests, Fernel at the front desk is a super-star. The beach -- yes, it takes 15 minutes to get there by foot, but wasn't a big deal for me at all -- is beautiful. And there is a good chance you will have it all to yourself.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabana by the pool.

My wife and I were attending a wedding this weekend, and with no prior visits to Cancun, managed to locate Amarte. We were greeted by name before we even took two steps out of the taxi. That would continue the duration of our stay. Every member of the staff from the management through the hotel, maintenance and gardening staff would stop what they were doing and say "hola" and greet us with a smile. Our room was clean and cozy, with a beautiful flow, that complemented the entire feel of the hotel. The owners have a fantastic vision for the combination of the structures and nature weaving through it. I only wish we had brought a better camera as ours couldn't possibly capture all the brilliant colors of Amarte and Cancun itself.

I stayed at the Amarte resort for 2 weeks at the end of April. Upon my arrival, I was personally greeted by one of the hosts, Paula, and immediately felt welcomed. Amarte is breathtaking. The beautiful stone paths that lead to the villas take you through a beautiful walk through naturally preserved jungle foliage. The sounds of the birds and the wind through the leaves is refreshing and serene.

Each villa is beautifully crafted, ecologically friendly, and unique. My villa was cleaned daily by one of the cheerful housekeepers, and all of the staff at Amarte are so warm and helpful. It was an added bonus to my vacation to have the pleasure to get to know everyone who contributes to the community at Amarte.

Paula and Honza, the hosts of Amarte, are exceptional at making guests feel welcome. They directed me to unique local places to experience the authentic culture that is so often overlooked when staying at mega resorts. They are so committed to creating a warm community feel at Amarte, and always made time to chat with me about the local culture, spirituality, cooking, and so many other interesting things.

I came to Amarte in need of relaxation, reflection, and a quiet place to write. Paula's daily yoga classes were the perfect way to start my day. She is an outstanding teacher, and taking her classes decreased my stress levels significantly. The walk to the beach is also beautiful, and the private beach is the pristine with white sand and clean turquoise water. The cuisine selected by Paula and Honza was carefully created with health and wellness in mind. The fruits and vegetables are locally and organically grown, and each dish is extremely healthy and nourishing. It was refreshing to have a daily high-quality dining experience that also allowed me to maintain my healthy lifestyle.

Amarte is a very spiritual and beautiful place, and I could not have asked for a better experience. I will be returning in a few months with some friends for our first yoga retreat! I highly recommend Amarte for anyone who is seeking a relaxing, authentic, and affordable experience.

Room Tip: I had the opportunity to see a few of the different villas. All are clean, quiet, and tastefully dec...

I went to this hotel for a wedding and I discover a great option to stay! It's a cheap option compared to others in this area, it has lovely rooms, great location and helpful staff. It is not seaside but they have a nice beach club. The only thing is that you have to use a lot of mosquito repellent since it is inside the jungle.

My partner and I staid at the Amarte resort for 2 weeks (end of May - beginning of June). We chose this hotel because of it's natural/authentic feel as well as it's relatively cheep prices for the area.

While the hotel isn't located directly on the beach - this was not a problem to us. Not only does the hotel offer free transportation to the beach, it also only takes about a 10-15 mins walk to get to the beach. For the most part we chose to walk there. During our walks we ran into a variety of local animals including crabs, turtles, coatis, iguanas, and basilisks just to name a few, which was very exciting.

The beach itself (named 'Lolita') was also a lot more naturally preserved compared to that of the neighboring hotels, it almost gives you a feel that you're on a deserted island. There were very few people at the beach (we were the only ones there for the most part). This however could be because it wasn't a busy tourist season yet.

While the hotel is located in a deserted area there is a convenience store and and a few restaurants on the premises for your convenience. Thus you don't need to travel away to buy meals or snacks.

We'll definitely be staying at Amarte again if we visit this area in the future!! Very happy.

"Amarte Maroma" is a breath of fresh air in a jungle of "all-inclusive resorts" at the Riviera Maya corridor, all the same with over-crowded beaches, and manicured gardens. "Amarte" is one of the very few hotels that strives to be in harmony with its surroundings and have a small ecological footprint. Once there, you will always feel that you are the only guest in the place. This feeling is created by the bungalows being like small islands in a sea of beautiful natural gardens. We felt in love with the "minimalist" architecture, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff--from the receptionist to the "always smiling" Frank, who was in charge of the beach club.

We used to run every morning from the hotel to the beach which is a couple of kilometres away. The beach was the highlight of our vacation, it is a beautiful, natural area and it was just for us!

On the value side you'll be paying far less of what you will pay in any of the neighbouring all-inclusives, and have an exclusive vacation instead of sharing the beach with thousands of tourists.

In brief, "Amarte" is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed.
