i stayed in this hotel in 2009 and the hotel was not to bad. i returned to this hotel 8/82012 the hotel has gone backwards i would not recomend this hotel to anybody, the food is aweful since 2009 the food has become cheap and nasty, the air conditioning is not even working tempertures were in the thirtys, when i said it needed fans in resturant as it was always to hot i was told the window was open .some of the staff are surly, only one off the staff are same as in 2008.i love lake garda but i will not be going to this hotel again

Room Tip: dont go to this hotel unless to have to choose any room

Forget about the negative reviews. I have just stayed at this hotel for a week together with my family - we were 16 altogether - and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute especially the kids. The location is superb, and the staff hard working and friendly. The rooms are well appointed and the bed and shower facilities OK. On top of that the lake facing rooms have cozy verandas and a breath taking view over the lake (we were on 2nd floor). We had half board and the buffet and main courses were delicious and well presented although the hotel was full and quite busy. Parking is narrow, but we had no problem finding a spot every day. It is not a new hotel, nor is it five star (or four..) but at the current level I would definitely call it value for money and would have no problem in returning one day!

On the positive, the rooms are spacious...and the air-cornditioner worked fine...the pool is nice and big and clean and the food was great....
On the negative...the bar manager had major mood swings where one day he was your friend and then next your enemy...the location of the hotel is a little out of the way, so its not ideal unless you have a car...the nearest town was a good 25 min walk....the dinner time is strictly set to either 6.30pm or 8pm...if you miss these times than you stay hungery....we wanted to order some food after a day at Garda Land at 9.15pm and were only offered Parma ham with melon..so we had to drive to the town for some dinner...during dinner there was not air conditioner or fans in the dining room so it was very hot. most people had to leave to go outside to cool down....also when antipasti dishes are set out during the 6.30 dinner they remain there all the way till the 8pm dinner and nothing is chilled...once we even saw a bird fly into the dining room and eat of the dishes...
Garda is a great place, and if i do ever go back i will defiantly not stay at Hotel Internazional.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the lake...its impressive scenery

First things first. this hotel is marketed as a 4 star. I am used to 4 star hotels and this is definitely not one of them.

Most of the staff was helpful and friendly, however one of them, I believe the head waiter called Hassan was quite arrogant. Twice in a 7 nights stay he 'politely' kicked us out from the restaurant, because they wanted to get our table cleaned up for the next morning. We had barely finished desert, and where not lingering really, just trying to relax after a full day of touring.

The pillows in the rooms are hopeless. very flat, can be barely called pillows. when I and another person in the tour went to complain to the receptionist she told us she did not have enough spare pillows for everybody and we need to decide who needs extra pillows. we ended up with nothing. My wife and i ended up with a sore neck

I have never seen towels like these before. looked more like rags to me, very thin and not absorbent. at all. Once I had mistaken the bathroom carpet with the towel because they looked the same.

Location is very far from the center. you have to walk for 25 minutes (fast paced) to get to the center at torri del benaco, which is very nice by the way. Since we where tired after touring we only did it twice, otherwise you feel more like you are in a convent than a hotel. They did not even have any entertainment either.

The hotel does not even have internet anywhere free or paid, in the rooms or hotel lobby. so getting online is impossible. This caused me a lot of frustration because i needed to connect to carry out work related tasks and the tour operator told us the hotel did have internet.

Food was very poor. We where on half board and food was always the same. Breakfast was 100% same. limited choice of cereal, no scrambled eggs, just boiled eggs and not everyday, ham cheese bread croissant and sausages (not very good tasting). We also noticed that when items finished, they did not get more.

During dinner, they served the same antipasto every day, which was acceptable, however eating the same thing for 7 days gets you bored easily. the main course was always a choice of 2 types of pasta and for main course a choice between chicken/pork or pork / fish on alternate days. Fish was frozen lake fish, not fresh and had always the same taste. portions for the main course where small. desert was always the same, water melon or melon. once we had ice cream which did not feel cold at all and tasted of lard. definitely the gelato Italy is famous for.

Having said that the rooms where nice and quite big. air conditioning was good and powerful. we had to decrease the power because it was too cold sometimes, so no complaining here. there was a tv and hair dryer.

The Hotel turned out to be eight and a half miles from Malcesina situated on a busy main road with the nearest bus stop nine hundred meters along that road with no pavements, you were risking being run over attempting to get to a bus stop. The Hotel did run a minibus costing 2 Euro to Tori del Benaco where it was safe to catch a bus as long as eight people were available but only until 12 30 PM which meant you had to find your own way back to the Hotel. Cost for bus was 11.50 Euro return for two plus 9 Euro for a taxi to the Hotel.

In the evening we were virtually prisoners in the hotel unable to go for a walk or visit local bars or cafes as we would have been able to do had we been in Hotel Malcesina.

The Hotel classed itself as being 4 stars but I doubt if anyone else would, being generous - 3 stars . We had a lovely room with a balcony and a lovely view over the lake it was spotlessly clean, the rear rooms however faced a sheer rock face but some of the party were allocated rooms in the annex which they refused to accept and were moved to another Hotel.
The food was a bit of a joke to say the least. You had to choose between one kind of fish or one kind of meat which was served with one veg ( no choice )and the sweet was ice cream or some kind of mouse.
Most of the staff were very friendly.
There was a telivision in the room but no English speaking channels not even news.
Air conditioning didn't work

Room Tip: Front rooms terrific view annex a no no

Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend if you are staying for a short period. Clean rooms but air-conditioning not working properly. A bit far from centre and amenities.

Hi, I have just spent one week in this so called Crappy Hotel by my previous review person.

The hotel is not well situated as it is far away from usefull amenites like- shops, night life, sports activities - They say it is 20 minutes walk , but you need mote than a mere 45 minutes to get to Torri by normal walk ( after a full day out excursion and being totally exhausted by long coach travelling )

The service of the reception is not so good, as these 2 ladies always seem that they do not know waht you are talking about when you accenty on some hotel problem , like airconditioning and cleanliness ( They just say - I check about it in the morning when the maintenance team comes over ) when they know in the bottom of their hearts that all you are saying is a true fact that they know what you are talking about.

The aircondioning in the hotel is INEXISTENT, all there is a climatisation unit that is used normally to heat up the room by a boiler means and not to cool down the rooms. Cooling can be made only till 25 degrees, which for me is like hell freezing.

The swiming pool is good looking but there is no shallow part for young children ( depth of the pool is all at one level) , and it seems that a chlorine factory is in site as the amount injected in the water system is far than enough.

The food is acceptable, mainly for quantity eaters as you can eat as much as you like at breakfast ( buffet breakfast ) - if you do catch some hard boiled eggs or some miniature sausages in a pig leg form . You have to book the dinner from the evening before , and the Tunisian waiters, if you want to change the dish do look at you and grumble a lot with real disguise ! As for dessert there is normally - Watermelons, melons, cake tart ( as it is known by the waiter , and also BUDINO , just like one of the waiters( as he himself looks like one of this messy brown custard )

The lake view rooms really have a good site of the lake , except as soon as you come over the balcony you smell this fungal type of humidity smell, that is always present mainly in the morning and at night. The lake is magnificent and although looks dirty, I think that it is good to bathe into. The water of the hotel seem so be coming from this lake too as the smell of the shower water has the same smell of the lake water. We also had to for a couple of times wash ourselves with cold water as the boiling system of the hotel waas turned off mysteriusly during a 3 am night storm ( also the so called airconditioning ) - Mysteriusly because - 1. The night reception was not available to ansewr the guests calls , 2. The morning good looking sexy receptionist said that she did know nothing about the failure and she said she will inform maintenance workers during the day - They had to come from miles away as they only repaired after 2 days ! Cynical !

I will return one day - Maybe, but after an extensive refurbishment is done - as things show this could be the year 2500.
