“Excellent base for getting around.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

We stayed in the hotel Sept 2013. Staff lovely very helpful especially Niko on the front desk who spoke English. Rooms small very clean good pool. Food good for small hotel would stay here again. Torri is lovely easy to get buses to other places on the lake.

Room Tip: I would recommend a pool view room.

Just back from the lakeside and the main road so very quiet location. Cheapest bar prices in the resort. Food unremarkable but okay. Very clean and liked room upstairs in the annexe rather than in main hotel block. Shale tennis court available at an extra charge but take your own gear the hotels offerings are antiquated. Torri is a great little resort and the best on the East side of the lake.

Room Tip: Go for the annexe

We stayed at the Hotel Romeo in August 2013 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is family run and we had no complaints whatsoever. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, food was to a good standard and a choice of three courses for evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff. We fell in Love with Lake Garda as it is so beautiful and breath taking. Torri is a lovely, quaint town and not at all commercialised. We would definitely recommend this hotel and resort and I would happily go back for another relaxing stay.

Room Tip: We didn't think about requesting a balcony, but would definitely do this on returning to the Hot...

Booked a short "late deal" 3 night stay with Crystal and for the money I can't really complain.....

However......... I will, because my real problem with this hotel was the appalling and worst check in experience I've ever had. The reception was deserted when I arrived. When I did manage to attract the attention of a staff member who was in the bar, it actually felt like I was being an INCONVENIENCE to him. He was scruffy, abrupt and I did not feel welcome whatsoever. A bad start. He just said "passport" and took it off me. He plonked my room key on the desk and said "2nd floor". That was it, no welcome of any sort, no info about dinner and breakfast times etc, facilities and all the usual basic info you get when you check in to a hotel. He didn't even tell me there was a lift, so up the stairs I went.... As first impressions go this was awful. Found the info folder in the room which was also very poor and also had no info about the times for dinner etc. (Luckily I found a poster on the wall later!). The safe in my room was locked as previous guest had not left it open and I couldn't open it, however I felt I couldn't go back down to reception to bother the rude man....

Having said all that - the hotel itself was fine. My single room was ok, with just a small shower and no balcony. It was cleaned every day. However for 3 nights and a cheap deal I wasn't too bothered about no balcony but if I was staying a week I'd have been upset as the views looked good. The food was good quality and plentiful and the breakfasts were also good with a good selection of items.

Location is excellent and a real selling point. A 5 minute stroll to the old town and lake.

Didn't try the pool - I'm told it is freezing cold! Snacks at the snack bar - tried an omelette on recommendation from guests on their 17th(!) visit and it was good.

So, pretty ok on the whole - have stayed in better, have stayed in worse. You get what you pay for - it's not the Ritz but if you get a cheap deal here it's fine. Would not pay brochure price, especially for the single room. For a cheap, quiet, short break it was ok.

PS: The other young man who works on reception is always polite and courteous. The older scruffy, rude man could take a few customer service lessons from him!!

Room Tip: Wouldn't recommend the single rooms as they have no balcony.

We booked 2 annexe rooms for ourselves and 2 teenage children. The annexe building enjoyed a nice view over the swimming pool and toward the lake over the rooftops. The rooms were small but very clean and had everything we needed along with spacious balcony. The food on offer was good for a small hotel, have to order at breakfast what you would like for evening meal between 3 choices, at least that meant you had a freshly cooked meal every evening. The swimming pool was very clean with plenty of sun beds and there was a tennis court available for use at 10 euro an hour with equipment included. The staff were all very pleasant particularly Nico who was very helpful and all the waitresses who worked very efficiently in the dining room. All in all I would recommend this hotel and the Lake Garda region as a wonderful place to visit.

A party of four of us, two couples, booked with Thomson Holidays and chose Hotel Romeo. This proved to be an excellent choice both for the hotel and Torri itself. The hotel is family run and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room, in the annex, was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. The pool and gardens were excellent. The food was good with a buffet breakfast, including scrambled eggs and bacon, and although the dinner choice was limited, and had to be selected at breakfast time, we were not disappointed with the quality of the food or the choice. The location of the hotel was five minutes from the lake side, away from traffic noise, and very handy for the buses and ferry. However, there are very few ferries run from Torri so we got a bus to Garda to catch ferries there. The village of Torri is very quaint and very clean with plenty of bars and restaurants. We particularly liked La Regatta for coffee and snacks. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: The annex, overlooking the pool is worth the supplement.

Stayed at the hotel Romeo the last two weeks of September. Had a very enjoyable stay while there. We stayed in the new annex over looking the pool. Rooms were small but clean and tidy with all the amenities you would need with good size balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel, dining room was light and airy and service was excellent. We booked the discovery package so had some early starts but the waitress made sure we had an early breakfast and we had late dinner after arriving back late from Florence. On the whole we did not have a problem with the quality of the food.
Hotel was central with pretty harbour only couple of minutes walk away so was the ferry and car terminal. Be aware passenger ferry only goes to stops to the north of Torri for stops to the south you will have to get the ferry from Garda and bus service can be unreliable. The castle in Torri is well worth a visit so is the market on Monday.
Had a very enjoyable stay was made to feel very welcome and would recommend a stay at the hotel Romeo.

Room Tip: The rooms in the new annex are in a better location and have bigger balconies than those in the main...
