“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2010

We went back a couple of times in our short stay in Chacala because we enjoyed Chac Mool so much. Not only was the food and coffee great but the owners and staff were as well. I repeat: Really good coffee, which is sometimes hard to come by in Mexico! I find myself wishing I could have another huevo ranchero or breakfast burrito from these guys now that I'm back home. Also, I agree with the previous reviewer who said that the owners were special and welcoming people.

“Chac Mool in Chacala, Nayarit, is great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2010

I love Chac Mool. I am fortunate to be a winter resident of Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico, and am grateful for Chac Mool as the place to get grounded, get connected, and get great food and real coffee. We are going for their Gourmet Pizza tonight, and to enjoy the only real salad for many kilometers. Their new location closer to the beach this year is a delightful combination of intimacy and a chance to be in the flow of this delightful village.

If you want to experience a small village of sweet local residents, a unique assemblage of northerners, the perfect beach, the freshest seafood-- AND a cafe that serves clean, healthy, fun, food and wine in an intimate outdoor patio atmosphere-- then come to Chacala!

Did I mention that Arturo and Emilia, the owners, are special people that will open their hearts to you and welcome you to the Chac Mool family. . .? What are you waiting for?

“Ground Zero for everything a visitor needs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2010

Love Chac Mool cafe and its owners. It's the first place we went to in Chacala and what a lovely introduction it was. Lured by the promise of good coffee we stopped and had an excellent lunch. I ordered a truly enormous latte which was just perfect. The baking looked mouthwatering for those who might be missing their sweet fix. We followed Arturio's advice and climbed up to the top of the volcano for an excellent view of the town and beach below. We went back to Chac Mool for breakfast the next day. Had a good old fashioned english breakfast with homemade salsa and got taken on a tour of a beautiful beach on the other side of town. What could be better than that? Thanks Arturio!

“Best coffee in the state of Nayarit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2009

When in Nayarit, a visit to Cafe Chac Mool is an absolute must. They serve the best coffees we have had in Mexico. The breakfast and lunch offerings are plentiful and always delicious! Service is always personable, efficient and very friendly. If you are looking for an amazing pizza, Aurturo makes a mean one! They also have a nice selection of wines. The patio seating is so pleasant it is hard to leave. Emilia and Arturo are always there with smiles and a friendly greeting and always ready to make your visit a memorable one! They also do catering for special events.
When visiting, make sure to give BoBo the Saint Bernard a friendly pat on the head!

“Best breakfast on the Nayarit coast, bar none.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2009

Let's put this in context, we're 90 minutes from Puerto Vallarta and yet Choc Mool has by far the best breakfast on the coast. Yes, they know how to cook eggs correctly, garner up a great latte, and their bacon is absolutely the best on the Nayarit coast. Lunch...the BLT is wonderful. Service is attentive, the patio is clean, umbrellas keep the sun at bay, and their big St. Bernard watches over all in calm repose. It's a haul to get there, but worth the trip. Millie, Arturo and their staff will please.
