It was such a shame that I didn't have the stomach (after drinking 4 cups of Frozen Coke thanks to Movie World's free refills) to really enjoy my very own hometown's food here in Australia. This place's customers are definitely only the locals as the restaurant is quite difficult to locate especially if you aren't a Gold Coast local. My girlfriend and I were the only 'foreign' customers during that evening (I ended up offering to pay for both our meals since I felt so guilty for being stranded with me finding the restaurant :P)
We ordered the 'Ipoh Ho Fun' and 'Bak Kut Teh'. I was expecting the usual chicken & beansprout for ho fun but it ended up being another dish when it was placed at my table; I got to admit I was a little shocked. However, the ho fun tasted very much like the one back at home :) Then there was the Bak Kut Teh. It definitely could have been better but it wasn't horrible. I would have definitely gone for more food but again, I wasn't in the state to do so.
As I said earlier, it is quite difficult to locate this restaurant. My girlfriend and I walked quite a distance from the nearest bus stop during a Gold Coast dark, breezy evening. So I approached the manager of the restaurant to ask where there nearest bus stop is. One of the staff offered to take my girlfriend & I in her car to a bus stop quite near to where we were staying - that easily saved us half of our bus fare :O Staff rating plus one.
So overall, here's my 4 star rating for this restaurant since nothing's perfect. Take my word about this review fo those of you trying to find Malaysian food in Gold Coast, I am from Ipoh itself.
P.S. That was the first time I had to pay for Malaysian food in my two years here in Australia. It's definitely heart-aching to do so, but it's absoultely one which I didn't regret :)
