“ALWAYS EXCELLENT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

We have stayed here several times and it is always top quality. Excellent value for money - quiet location - excellent facilities: parking, pool, fitness centre, restaurant, etc. We never hesitate to recommend this Hotel.

We stayed here to go to a footy game at the new stadium just up the road. The check in took forever, the car parking is a joke, the room was OK but you can here every noise coming from the adjoining rooms as well as the bar fridge rattling and clunking all night. We ask at the front desk for a shuttle to the footy which is about a 5 min drive away. We agree to the $30 charge but unfortunately the driver doesn’t want to go up to the designated BUS drop off that is outside the stadium so a bus load of us get dropped off in the rain about a kilometer away and are told to walk. This was not mentioned when they take your money. The nerve to charge more than a taxi and do half a job, this type of thing ruins your night right from the beginning. Then the rude girl at checkout tried charging us another $30 for the bus as we paid cash the night before so we complained about the bus trip and she will ‘note it down’. We have stayed in many Radissons from Edinburgh to the USA and have never had a problem but won’t be recommending the gold coast anytime soon.
cheers
Ashley Knight

Dear toinfinity, we are always disappointed to read that a guest is less than 100% satisfied by our Genuine Hospitality.
As one of the closest hotels to both Skilled Park and the new Metricon Stadium we focus on supporters packages over game-day weekends and aim to deliver an unrivaled all inclusive service. Unfortunately you attended the first ever game at the Metricon stadium and there were numerous traffic issues for many attendees regardless of their accommodation venue. Our bus delivered our guests to the closest area that the Stadium would allow and your feedback along with that of many others has meant that we have changed the location for both drop off and pick up to one considerably closer. Our supporter’s packages (NRL and AFL games) include transfers at no extra cost and our adhoc pricing is aimed at encouraging guests to book prior so that we can plan transfers with definite numbers. Whilst taking a taxi to the game may appear like a cheaper option, trying to secure a taxi home with the other 20,000 supports is a risk most guests wouldn’t be prepared to take.
I have tried to call a number of times and sent emails in an effort to apologise but have not received a response to date. We remain apologetic for the experience you received and assure you that the very valid concerns you raised have all been addressed.

We had occasion to Visit the Hotel and encountered fantastic service and attention to detail. The service was awesome and I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who appreciates good service. The food in the restaurant was also great. The Pizza was fantastic as was the salads. When it comes to the gym I have never seen a gym this well equipped in any other hotel. Well done and we will be back.

Dear Gazzahamilton - Thank you for again taking the time to comment on your recent visit to our property. It’s taken me awhile but I have decided to embrace your good advice and hence this short note.
We certainly hope that you will choose to visit us again soon and we all look forward to dishing us more of the wonderful food that Chelos has become famous for and you so clearly enjoyed.
Thank you again.

On the surface, this place looks great. The reception staff (including Rex the Galah) were friendly and helpful, and the reception/bar/restaurant areas have a nice ambiance. The rooms are comfortable.

However, scratch the surface and you will find...nothing much. The food in the restaurant varies wildly...the breakfasts are very ordinary. The supposedly hot food was tepid (every day, not just a one off), and the eggs were tasteless, the bacon greasy etc. I tried ordering cooked to order fried eggs, but after 20 minutes I was tired of waiting for them to arrive. And trying to actually get the attention of serving staff, to get coffee etc was difficult; they are apt to ignore and keep walking unless you physically grab them as they race past.

Because this place is not overly expensive, it seems to attract families of loud, ill mannered children and equally ill mannered parents. So, even a quiet drink in the bar was impossible due to children running around and screaming. After about 9pm when those families departed things were much more pleasant.

And in what universe do the cleaners service rooms a 4.10pm? We came home from a busy day out to find we couldn't get into our room while they finished making it up.

As far as location goes, the place has plenty of resort style things to do if you want that kind of holiday; just as well as it is a fair hike away from the rest of the Gold Coast or anything else interesting...they do run a shuttle bus to various attractions/places...they need to as it really would be very expensive to rely on taxis to get to the Gold Coast each day.

Overall, it is pleasant enough; stay away in school holidays though unless you like constant screaming and crying as the audio backdrop for your holiday. And try and eat away from the resort.

I'm sure there are plenty of better serviced and better positioned places to stay on the Gold Coast.

Room Tip: Stay away in school holidays, eat elsewhere.

The resort is definitely a dream in getting away from the hustle and noise from the main gold coast strip. Set on a golf complex this resort is definitely spacious, relaxing and wonderfully presented.

The room size is good, the rooms are clean and amazing. The bed and pillows were the best I'd slept on in a hotel. The rooms are incredibly quiet and sleep quality from a light sleeper was SO GOOD!!

The staff are prompt and professional. I liked the little touches like them actually using my name. Directions on check in for the car parking and the room were clear and concise. It is a bit of a drive to get there, best to only stay in this resort if you have your own transport. Otherwise if you have a car, parking is a breeze, there is plenty of on street parking or there is an undercover car park.

I wouldn't hesitate on staying at this resort again, its the best 5 star in the gold coast.

Room Tip: Best of have own transport to get there

My husband and I stayed at this Hotel with our daughter due to an early flight from Coolongatta Airport. We chose this Hotel from the Wotif site so the price was the main consideration. The room was comfortable with a definite family/beach feel to it. A basic clean room with a view to the golf course. The room was on an upper level with no lift access, so carrying luggage up stairs could be a problem for some as it is a bit of a walk from the carpark to some of the units. Check-in was smooth as was check-out with the staff being helpful with suggestions when asked.
The Hotel itself is not positioned close to the hotspots on the Coast...nightlife, restaurants, shopping, beaches or theme parks but if you have transport nothing is too far away (15 minutes to Broadbeach etc). It is definitely a quite location but if golf is what you are here for then it's probably perfect. We found it reasonably good for accessability to the local airport - only 30 minute early morning drive.

We stayed for one night at the Radisson, and I have to say we really enjoyed it... We had a first floor room right about the pool complex... The rooms are spacious and have quality amenities.

The staff were friendly and helpful.... We will definately be coming back to stay here again....
