“Overcooked bugs served without the sauce overrode the great friendly service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

First time trying Moreton bay bugs n they were dry n hard to get out of the shell. The advertised sauce was non-existent n the rice they were served on was gluggy n tasteless. So disappointed!

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Nothing to dislike about this place! We have eaten here numerous times over the last 5 years, each visit has been great. There is a great budget menu and the food is delicious and a decent quantity to feed hungry boys. Will go back next time too :)

“Dining with Broadwater Views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

"The Lazy Lobster" is ideal for casual dining and most popular for lunch and dinner. The prices are reasonable and the food a good choice a la carte. It is great for groups or couple dining. It has a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The views of the Broadwater of a day is beautiful and of an evening the views up to the lights of Marina Mirage are beautiful.

“Great Lunch Venue”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

We have dined here many times as we are locals. The view over the Broadwater is really great, such a nice atmosphere for lunch.

They used to do a Half Price Lunch Menu but now they have a "Budget Beaters" section on their Lunch Menu. These meals are all under $20 and even though we didn't order these meals, they looked very appetising when they came to the table next to us. They are served with Chunky Fries and Salad.

While we read the menu we had a couple of serves of Garlic Bread ($7) which had fresh finely crushed garlic on top of the hot buttered baguette slices and was really tasty.

We had a main size Salt & Pepper Calamari ($21) to share (4 people) for an entree and it was tender, lightly crumbed and served with fries. Delicious!

Mains we had BBQ Moreton Bay Bugs with Lemon + Butter + Shallots ($40) & Grilled Goldband Snapper with Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce ($27). This was served on a bed of mash with capsicum and carrots - not to our liking. The fish was good but tasted like it had been pre-cooked and reheated. The mains are served with potato and vegetables, but we didn't expect what we got. We only ate the fish. Had we known or if the waiter had told us, we would have asked just for fries or salad.

The wine list is limited starting at $32/$35 per bottle and by the glass $8/$10 is about average.

For dessert we had the Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce ($12) served with ice cream and cream - Sooo Good! We also shared the Tasting Trio ($17) which was a small Créme Brulée, Brandy Snap filled with Cremé Patissieré with a side dish of Mixed Berries & Lemon Lime Tart also served with ice cream and cream - very generous serve and great to share. The desserts are really delicious!

There is plenty of undercover parking which is very convenient with a lift up to the Restaurant level. The waiters are friendly and attentive.

Yes, we would go back again but we are STILL looking for a really good seafood restaurant on the Gold Coast.
