Tonight we had a dinner at Black Angus.
We were looking forward to this occassion as it is my wife's birthday and also wanted to impress her dad visiting us from overseas.
We have purchased a voucher on Spreets which offered us a three course meal ( entree, main and dessert ).
After being seated we were asked , if wether wewant bottled or tap water.
I had to ask the waiter if he want to take order for drinks as we were really craving for some beer and a good bottle of wine.
My wife ordered the duck from the menu in addition, which was unenjoyable and very dry.
All other meals were really good and tasty, except the amount of sauce that came with the char grilled steaks could have been a bit more.
Being spent in the hospitality industry 20+years, my impression wasn't too good of the service whatsoever.
Water wasn't replenished without asking for more, we had to ask for cutlery for mains, bread plates were not removed, extra setting were not removed( table was set for 4 , we were just the three of us)
We could see from our seat how staff is eating in the back of the house( very unprofessional !)
Biggest shock came at the end, when requested the bill.
Since we came with a voucher , we should have been charged for the beverages and the additional food ordered by my wife only.
Instead we were charged some( probably half price of each meal or something like that) which supposed to be included as per voucher offered.
When I have made an inquiry with one of the waitstaff attending the till, he quickly has changed the bill for the right one and said " probably anither inexperienced waitstaff made a mistake"
Well, guys, this is not good enough!
Before you take a bill to a table you should check it for accuracy!
It seems very obvious that they do this regularly with customers having dinner with the voucher in the hooe that it won't be noticed and rip customers off!
The first bill was $210 , after I questioned was $ 130.
$80 is a bit of a difference isn't that folks?
I warn everybody to look carefully when it comes to paying your bill!
Will I ever go back there?
Rather go next door to George's Paragon, which is much more reasonably priced, attentive service, excellent food quality.
