Took my cousin to this place for a quick lunch. Menu was a bit overwhelming in choices but you cant say that is a negative. We decided to sit in the bar area and ordered some simple fare, me a Kai's Chicken stack and my cousin the club sandwich.
The stack was a sensation, and very clever! Layers of crispy warm poppadums were interspersed with grilled spicy chicken slices, mango and roast capsicum slivers, as well as crunchy oak leaf lettuce. The dressing was s weet chilli based vinegarette with a creamy undertone, wonderful...light, easy and a real surpise. Cousin's club sandwich was a 'standout' he said! Best ever in his 40 years. A glass of superb Rose, and then the owner introduced herself to us. We had a great conversation about the area and her experiences. Charming and wonderful service. We were treated to a desert to share by the owner in the name of promoting the dish....and it needs no promoting....a soft yet crsipy cased meringue folded over dark chocolate centre is served with lighter than air strawberry gelato and slivers of sweet strawberry, wonderful. We will be back for the food but the decor is great! Really original and beachy without the hackneyed ott beach themes. More luxury shack than boat house.....try it definately!
