we stayed there in oct 09 with family and children all total 13 of us stayed in the rainforest retreat accomodations the people staff that ran the village are excellent very friendly nothing was to much to ask if needed. Was very close to all amentities .All familys had a ball would recomend to all.
We believe that the memorys that we have taken with us from the week we stayed will stay with us for a very long time which is what we all were hoping for!
at the end of our holiday none of us wanted to leave.
well done to all staff that made our holiday a memorable one!

Myself and three other families stay at Ashmore. Two of the famlies had stayed there before and recommended that we stay there this time. It is close to the highway, but you won't know it. It is a wonderful place to stay with kids, as there is plenty for them to do. My children enjoyed the birds which are there for their guests to enjoy. The staff where very helpful with all our questions. I would recommend Ashmore Palms to anyone with children or just a great place to stay.

Family had a great time, amenties where good, centrally located to the theme parks. Child enjoyed the free activities in the morning, also the bird feeding. Next time I would upgrade (in second lowest accommodation) it was adequate but small - most of the time when we were there we enjoyed it down next to the pool. Not far from the shops. Friendly and helpful staff. Both the accommodation and the resort were clean. Would book again at this place.

It's a great family place.. nice cabins, great pools, lush gardens.
It's in a strange location - in the middle of an industrial area - not factories, but car yards and truck and cement businesses, and suburbs. Not near a beach.
However once you step inside the gates, you're in your own oasis. The cabins are very private (perhaps it was even all a little to private - not a lot of socialising like in a caravan park).
The pools were fantastic..and rarely crowded when we were there. Clean BBQs and modern laundry facilities, a little shop and tourist centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Wireless internet very expensive. But the internet kiosks were $2 for 15 minutes, pretty standard. Couldn't print plane boarding passes tho :-(
Our kids are 3 and 6, so every morning when the pool opened at 8am we were there for a couple of hours for a swim, then we'd head off on our own adventures (beaches, Brisbane, theme parks), then back for a late afternoon swim before dinner.
The birds are quite amazing, some rare ones there. I wouldn't want to stay in a cabin right next to some of the aviaries, as the birds are VERY loud with screeching.
We stayed in a Lorikeet lodge in the middle of the park, which was perfect.
Excellent place to base yourself if your main focus is just relaxing, or theme parks, or other activities. If you want to be able to walk to the beach though, you'll need to find somewhere else.

I have stayed in Ashmore Palms Holiday Village in early October, and my advice to anybody who is looking for accommodation in Gold Coast area is this. If you have children, especially young kids, do not look for anywhere. My kids loved(age 9 and 7) this place-they loved the pool, they loved the playground, they loved kids' morning acitivity...and they absolutely loved the birds in the village. It was good fun to join feeding bird progaramme in the morning. And if you are going to saty there, don't forget to ask about the bird whose name is Sam. Whether you believe or not, he can dance!!!
I'm absolutely going back there.

We found Ashmore relaxing and the friendliness flace i have ever stayed, lots to do and my little son won a colouring in competiton and he is still talking about that, the first thing he has ever won. Affordable and heaps of accomodation choices!!! Just hope one day I can afford to stay in a Macaw Mansion. Only problem is I am building bird cages down here in tassie since our visit. Have told all my friend how wounderful Ashmore is to visit.
