“Just perfect - again! Why stay anywhere else?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2009

We have just spent 14 nights at Ashmore in a Deluxe Family Villa, and found it every bit as perfect as our first stay. Combining great value, exceptional service and excellent accommodation, what more could we ask for? The free activities for the kids are excellent, the transfers are frequent and easily booked, and the staff will accommodate you in any way they can. There is no way to improve on excellence, and we will most certainly make this our stop next time we are heading to beautiful Queensland. In the perfect spot, 10 minutes from Surfers, 10 minutes from the theme parks, yet well away from noisy traffic, you feel like you're in an oasis. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are everything yo could need, the lagoon pools are a kids delight. Kudos to the Ashmore team, you are a truly exceptional destination, and one we will keep coming back to.

once again we have found Ashmore Palms to be a wonderful place to stay with our kids. We have stayed here before and had such a great time that when we found the hotel we were supposed to be staying at in the first week further north to be not as good as we hoped, we checked out early and booked in to Ashmore Palms 4 days earlier than planned. We stayed in a Deluxe Family Villa for the 1st 4 days then moved into a Rainforest Retreat for the planned 7 nights. The DFV was completely adequate for a family, with 3 brms so had heaps of space. I personally prefer the RR cabins because I like having the private laundry and BBQ. With 4 kids the ensuite helps too lol. The kids love the pools and parrots and the friendly staff and activities! All the staff are SO friendly, from front desk to groundsmen to maintenance staff. The place is kept really clean and feels SO relaxing and welcoming. We recommend Ashmore Palms to everyone with a family looking for accom in the Gold Coast.

This is the second time we have stayed at Ashmore Palms. We last stayed there in August 2008.

Whilst we downgraded from a Macaw Mansion to a Palm Cottage this time we were not disappointed. We also had Nana with us this time around and she was very impressed with Ashmore Palms and that is no mean feat getting such glowing praise from her.

As before, here are the main comments:

The whole village is spotlessly clean and has very good amenities such as BBQs, kids playgrounds, swimming pools, a shop, Internet booths and excellent laundry facilities. The villa we stayed in was modern, clean and well-appointed. Our beds were extremely comfortable and the kids loved the bunk beds.

The village itself felt like a quiet little oasis and is only about 15-20 minutes drive from Surfers Paradise and many of the popular Gold Coast attractions. Its very handy.

The only slightly disappointing feature for me was that, while there is wireless internet available in most of the village, I wasn't terribly impressed with the pricing. I was hoping to use my laptop to keep up with news, get directions, emails etc. However, I didn't connect to the Internet once whilst at Ashmore Palms as the cost to do so was prohibitive in my view. To be charged AUD$20 for 1 day is just too expensive. Even the 7-day rate of AUD$60(?) was too expensive as I couldn't justify the cost for the short amount of time I would use it over the 7 days we were there. I acknowledge that the Internet service is provided by a 3rd party and, as such, Ashmore Palms may have little or no ability to influence pricing. I think the provider should offer a rate for a certain number of hours online use, eg AUD$20 for 5 hours of use which expires in a week or two. They could also cap the download usage to ensure the extreme user doesn't abuse the service.

My Internet service gripe aside I still think Ashmore Palms is the absolute best in terms of value, location, service and facilities for a young family. We will return again one day I am sure.

Just back from a week at Ashmore Palms. If you like the hustle and bustle of somewhere like Surfers Paradise, built for tourists, then this place isn't for you. If you value peace and quiet in spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained surroundings, a little off the beaten track, but with easy access to everywhere, then you should try Ashmore Palms. The Theme Parks are also nearer to here than Surfers, and with the use of the daily orange shuttle, you can get to any of them in about 15 minutes max. The staff can't do enough to help, whether it's reconmmending and booking a trip for you, or sorting out any queries or questions. The accomodation itself is very good value. we had a Lorikeet Lodge, which was more than big enough for the 3 of us, and very well equipped. There are supermarkets accessed out of the back gate of the resort, along with a strip of takeaways etc. The best trip we took was a Tall Ship day trip to South Stradbroke Island. We booked this by asking one of the lovely reception ladies to recommend a boat trip. We would definatley stay here again if we were ever lucky enough to be visiting the Gold Coast again.

My wife, daughter 19, sons 16 and 12 were returning south to Canberra after a family visit to Central Queensland. The aim was for parents to relax and kids hit the theme parks.

We found Ashmore Palms via wotif.com and booked the Macaw Mansion for 5 nites. When we arrived our reception was friendly, efficient and informative (something that we had not found common elsewhere at this time of year). The accommodation was clean, well maintained, tastefully decorated and equipped well enough to please all.

Ashmore Palms was close via the freeway for all visits to the theme parks and shopping (so much for relaxing!!!) The staff provided advice and information about other tourist places to visit, the supporting leaflets with "how to get there" were very handy! We were also able to buy the theme park tickets at reception ...avoiding long queues for the kids.

Finally I must comment on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff ... they made us feel at home. We intend to return.

  • Liked — Parents Retreat was great!
  • Disliked — Difficult to cool the downstairs bedroom, only a fan.

I was at Ashmore Palms Holiday Village fro 22nd -28th December with my family and we loved the place! It was just the enviroment that we wanted and it was situated at a nice neighbourhood and within a short driving distance from all the major attraction. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when I needed a last minute extension a few days before my arriavl to Brisbane, they got me an upgraded unit at a very reasonable rate. This really took a load off my mind and my family was very happy with the facilities and the amenities at Ashmore town. Ashmore Palms Holiday Village will be always the place that I will recommend if anyone wants to go to Brisbane.

  • Liked — Friendly Staff and convenient location
