My partner and I (both 28) went for a week 1st-8th June 2007.
Had faith in the reviews I'd read on TA so knew it was going to be a good hotel.
The AIRPORT was very easy, the easiest I have ever experienced! Within half an hour of landing we were on the coach heading to our hotel and after 20 mins we were sipping cocktails by the pool - great start!
CHECK IN was quick and easy at the hotel, wrote our details on a form, given room key and some details on the hotel and away we went. Our suitcases were delivered to our room within 10 minutes although that may have been due to the fact that there were only about 10 people checking in at the same time as us.
Our ROOM was 116 on the first floor in the main block. It was a good size for the 2 of us although anymore would have been a tight squeeze. Two single beds pushed together, TV (one english channel - World News), hairdryer (although I always take my own), chest of drawers (2 large drawers), wardrobe with about 6 hangers and 3 further small drawers. There was also a fridge which was large enough to store large water bottles in - a first! Air con was was good, full bathroom with hot water at all times and good water pressure. From our room we had views of the pool and the sea - also had a balcony. We were the last room at the end which was nice as it was very quiet - although it would depend on who your neighbours were!
TOWELS and Bedding changed daily.
The HOTEL had a large lounge area to sit and relax in and a bar just near the restaurant (which was smoking). One internet access - you get a card from Recp that cost approx 5 euros for 45 mins. The hotel was very clean and tidy - couldnt fault this in anyway. Grounds were also kept very clean.
RESTAURANT served piping hot food, a large selection of meats, vegetables, fish, pasta (yes, there were chips for you chip lovers) and plenty of desserts, juices, tea and coffee, water, wine and cocktails to drink! On the bar they had a list of all the drinks that were included as part of the all inclusive package - which was basically everything apart from brand drinks.
I was ill with an upset tummy for 3 days of the holiday - prob a mixture of weather and alcohol although i did find it stopped when I avoided the cream desserts of an evening? Not sure if this was the reason but it didnt put that much of a dampner on things.
BEACH BAR served drinks all the time and food when the restaurant wasnt serving - very friendly staff and again, nice hot food. There are also toilets and showers here too.
The POOL BAR was the most used by us - drinks all day and sandwiches and icecream were also served from here.
SUNBEDS were free at the pool but you had to get down there early to reserve- as with most holidays. We preferred the beach (which was very clean) although we did have to pay 4 euros each a day for the pleasure.
BEACH TOWELS were a 30 euro deposit for 2 at reception - a bit steep I thought but I spose they need to cover their costs if they get lost. You could change them every 3 days.
ENTERTAINMENT in the evening was good, considering there are only 5 entertainers that did the daytime activities then the evening too. These guys do not sleep at all! Very friendly, we got on with them all and will miss them! The entertainment took place at the pool bar - kids mini disco at 9pm then the evening show at 10pm which lasted about an hour - karaoke, Miss/Mr Zante Beach, Grease, 'We will rock you', Caberete, Grand Musical and Variety Show - very eventful! Do spray yourself with mozzie spray of an evening though- I got bitten several times (once on each butt cheek the size of an egg - very painful!!) I will add that this was the only time I was bitten, mozzies werent a problem during the day, just whenever we saw the shows.
TOWN - walk along the beach to the main strip which was approx 20-30 minute walk, we did this several times during the week for souvenir shopping and nights out. It was nice to be away from the loudness of the strip but only be a short walk away so the hotel is perfectly situated for those that want a relaxing hols or something with a nightlife.
WATERSPORTS were on the beach and under separate management. We hired a pedalo - 15 euros for half an hour and headed left of the hotel where we were lucky to see and swim with some big turtles - great experience even if one of them was the size of me!!
Sorry about the length of this but I wanted to give as much detail as poss. We had a great week even though the weather was quite cloudy for 4 days. We would definately go back to this hotel again should we find ourselves in Zante. (Its the biggest hotel on the island) and seeing the ones when we dropped off other guests on the way there I'm very glad we chose this one.
