on our arrival at the airport at 6am after being up for just under 24 hours, we were meeted with a rep who was nice and quiet on the bus rather than too loud at that time. we anticipated our hotel room to be a small one bedroom apartment, with a sofa bed/camp bed, we were PLEASANTLY surprised to find a spacious room with two proper beds, through the door another two proper beds that lead onto a spacious walled patio area with a table 4 chairs and a high stool (not sure why). the bathroom was again pleasantly surprising we had a bath, shower, sink and loo. however the bath was rather small perfect for me as i am short but anyone over 5'4 would struggle to move, so we opted for a crouched shower which was easier than standing or laying. the only disappointment was the kitchen (sideboard with sink, fridge and cupboards) the hot plate is a plug in the wall jobby, with a plate that over our entire stay did not move or get plugged in. we had gone out with the mindset of cooking every night but surrounding the hotel are many restaurants that offer such amazing deals, with food and drinks! our favorite had to be must sports bar, just off the strip about a 1 minute walk, where the sales man aaron will drag you in with their amazing 10euro deal, majority of their main courses (which are hugeee!!) and then 3 drinks of your choice. the staff and atmosphere there are fantastic.
most of the days we spent lounging round the pool in the afternoons, as we never quite managed to see a zante morning. there are plenty of sunbeds and shades, and during the afternoon there are still main areas that get direct sunlight till way after 6pm. the pool area supposedly does not allow drinks that aren't purchased from the pool bar however we were never told off. the bar man dennis was AMAZING! on our first day we took happy hour from 2-4 to a whole new level, with free cocktails and cocktail making for all the other guests at their amusement i am sure. the food their is good too, and not over priced, the breakfasts looked amazing but we never had the stomach to face one!
costas the friendly 'security/room guide' was no problem at all, he checked on our first night what room number we were after making our way back and was very helpful when we had misplaced one of our friends and kept an eye out, and made sure she was back. jimmy the owner was no problem, on arrival we paid the 50euro for the air conditioning which we would not have been able to live without, and then 15euros for a safe, again a must! between 4 of you it works out to be so cheap and definitely worth while!
the location in comparison to everywhere else was fantastic, so close to the beach and strip made for a quick getaway on a night out and perfect distance during the heat of the day to go to the beach.
basically i could go on forever, but dados was a delight to stay in, had music playing throughout the day, party atmosphere, friendly staff and guests! the perfect location for trudging home either along the beach or the road depending on where you ended your night.
Don't get me wrong it is basic and do not go thinking it will be 5*, but the 3* rating i think is definitely justified. one thing just do be careful luckily we did not have to pay for any damages but because the 50euro deposit per person has been lifted, it does mean any damages are steep, you have been warned!
if you are looking for a fun filled hotel, great pool, friendly and safe atmosphere with prime location then dados is the one for you!!!!!
ask for ground floor, less stairs to carry bags as there is only one small lift. our patio area was...
