“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

This is a great little hotel in an excellent location. As everyone else has mentioned it is very clean, the girl who cleans the rooms does a great job. Martha and the rest of the staff are brilliant. Breakfast is the standard greek breakfast but it's very good. The pool is excellent and we always had a sunbed.
The only things I would change would be free wifi and maybe replace the little TV's with larger LCD TV's (and a few more english channels). You can get free wifi in many of the restaurants so it's not too big a problem.
Hermes car rental next door is also very good, we rented a new suzuki alto for 65 Euro for 3 days and we also booked a few tours here.

Oia is fantastic and well worth a visit if you rent a car.

Kamari is a great resort, lots of restaurants and shops. The beach is black and stony and you really need to buy some neoprene shoes (about 7Euro). Cost about 5-7 Euro to rent two beds and umbrella. We thought Kamari was nicer than Perissa, we visited the water park in Perissa (it only has 3 slides) and it was OK.

We liked the Almira restaurant best although most (not all) are pretty good.

There is a watersport center on the beach which we thought was expensive, we would have used it more if it had been a bit cheaper.

Great hotel and great resort!

|We stayed here 3 July 2012 for one week. This hotel is tucked between shops, once you walk through the arched entrance, it is such a peaceful and tranquil scene. The sun beds are plentiful and well kept, there was only one slightly annoying thing, a particular guest insisted on reserving sunbeds for him and his wife at braekfast time. For the majority of the time only one of the beds was used. Apart from this even the Germans refrained from reserving sun beds. The rooms are airconditioned and spotlessly clean. Free WIFI would be a great asse, currently you have to pay, this can prove to be quite expensive over one or two weeks.
I would reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: Any room overlooking the pool.

As most european countries, the rooms are basic. Santellini Hotel the rooms were very clean (cleaned every day) ideally has a fridge to which you can store all your drinks/water and a tv but not many channels of course (but who watches that much tv on holiday) BBC News in on Tv.

We were welcomed with a big hello from the owners, who immediately got us all sorted and showed us to our rooms. Shower is good, don't drink the tap water (bottled water only) and a note to all visitors (you are not able to dispose of loo paper down the toilets due to Greece have small pipes) but do not let this put you off.

First thing we did was check out the location of where we were, we'd come out of our hotel and turn right, your a 2 min walk to the Santorini Promenade with all the restaurants and shops. (I'll get to shops & restaurants shortly) You will not hear any noise from the hotel rooms, I can vouch for that as I get woken up easily and I slept through pretty much every night without failure. Pool is lovely and refreshing, a note to people it may get hot around the poolside as the sea breeze does not always reach over the walls.

Poseidon is a nice food restaurant, very friendly waiters. But the one that out beats allll the restaurants available to eat at is Almeira Restaurant, the food is delicious, I had Fillet Vinsanto, Fish Fillet with Nicois Sauce, Shrimps in Garlic, Pesto and Cream, all absolutely divine and will most likely be half the bill of any other restaurant again Waiters are very friendly. Algean Restaurant (Irish Bar) does good food and a english breakfast, also shows sports. Just 4 bar is good also for sports. Loveboat is a good place to meet up if there is a group of you, fairly cheap too. Don't go to the Albatross Bar if you wish to be ripped off.

Back to the Hotel again, Breakfast is good, an array of different choices, the owner will cook fried eggs for you if you wish (boileds eggs aren't runny in the middle) I quite enjoyed their yoghurt and honey with museli.

Turn left out of the hotel, do not go to the restaurant on the corner, Karelli I think its called. Orders were wrong and food wasn't that impressive (35 euros for just lunch) Almeira you could get three main meals and four drinks for under 50 euros (drinks being their beer)

Try a Yellow Donkey if you can in a pub, santorini's beer quite nice. Anyway... turn left outside the hotel, you have a car rental place/excursions place (good euro rate, july was 1.22 to the pound) further around the corner you have a supermarket, go to the one further on the left I think its called Johnny's, well priced and has lots of options, If you carry on walking down, missing the first left, you'll get the Irish Bar.

Beach is black sand and pebbles, so wear suitable sandals/flip flops, and obviously suncream!

Hope this has helped everyone thinking about Santorini. Please do ask me any questions.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room on the 2nd Floor or 3rd Floor as you'll get a better breeze into your...

Hello and thanks for looking at this review - as ever this is about the hotel and we have to say that this hotel 'through the key hole' when you get there opens up into a quaint and reserved hotel. Spotless in every single way.

As you enter the hotel from a ramp or stepped access the pool area opens up into this little haven. The reception large and spacious and the family team that run this hotel - thanks and well done.

We had upgrade with a tour operator and in fairness to the hotel the brochure miss represented the hotel and was sold a little dis tasteful. Because the friendly team at the hotel made our stay the most hassle free ever. Once we had our room allocated we were away. The rooms were spacious and not typical Greek (small), the whole situation at the hotel was spot on. We cannot say anything about this hotel other than this was most probably the best 'Greek' hotel ever stayed in by us.

Breakfast was spot on too - yes simple but not basic - there was something for everyone and a choice at that, again by far the best Greek experience for breakfast hotel option we have had.

The location of this hotel was great too. Step out of the hotel and you are in it! Do try The Love Boat - good prices and very good assertiveness to it's customers.

So if you are looking to make a reservation at this hotel right now and thinking yes/no then if you are a young couple, mature couple or even an older couple - this place is your next destination!

Thank you team Santellini for making our stay private and at the same time personal.

Thanks Tripadvisor viewer for taking the time to read our review.....

Room Tip: Ask for a high room its worth it!!

Just returned from a weeks stay at this Hotel for our fifth wedding anniversary. As all the other comments, the hotel was spotless and the staff worked like trojans to keep it so, even when it was still clean from the day before! It is a very quiet hotel, but near to everything. There was no having to bagsy sun loungers with towels at 6am, you could enjoy a relaxed breakfast and still get a sunbed at 10am- what a novelty! Back to the breakfasts, pretty basic stuff, would get bored of it if there for 2 weeks, but it was good quality and fresh. Our thanks go to Giannis for putting us in a nice room after we emailed to notify him it was our anniversary, we had a room on the third floor overlooking the pool with a mezzanine floor. The resort of Kamari is very chilled, relaxed and friendly. It hadn't changed in the 5 years since we visited and it was nice to see familiar faces in the bars and restaurants and also to be recognised by them!! Hope they are all still there when we go back next time!

Room Tip: Would advise not to have a room overlooking the road. Third floor rooms have large balconies and som...

just spent 2 weeks at the Santellini and from start to finish the staff were very helpful and friendly. the hotel is one of the cleanest i,v stayed at, the room was a good size, the shower was a bit tight, found the mattress harder than i,m used to (memory foam at home has probably spoilt me a little) the breakfast is very good "continental style" we never got bored in the 2 weeks we were there, the hotel location is perfect near to everything ie; shops, bars, restaurants, cash machines, bus stop and jewellers. Kamari is in a great position to explore the rest of the island which is easy just by using the local buses which aren,t expensive. loved the sunset cruise and the sunset at Oia sat in a bar with a beer and a wine. could be a little chilly in the evening if there was a breeze.santorini is unspoilt and hope it stays that way we,ll be back!

We have just returned from a week staying in the Santellini. You enter through a small archway into a beautiful oasis. It is very peaceful, yet only a few steps from the beach, shops and restaurant/ tavernas. The bus stop, for trips into Thira, is literally just round the corner. Everyone mentions the cleanliness in the hotel and they are absolutely right. They even wipe the sunbeds down underneath and wipe down the plant pots. The place is spotless!!!
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We found we needed extra pillows and these were supplied immediately. I took my own travel hairdryer, but there was no need, the one in the room was excellent. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. It was nice to see a variety of teas available. A beautiful place and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
