“A hidden little gem in Kamari”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Friends (from Sweden) stay here right now and I went to see the hotel and room. Thay had booked a one-room apartment and ended up staying in a huge two-room apartment by themself. Everything is very fresh and new painted, new equipment in the kitchen and VERY clean. They clean and change towels every day and sheets every 3 days. The lady and man in the reception don't speek a lot of English but understand more and one can have a conversation with gestures without problems.

The garden area and pool is fantastic!

Overall a very good choice for those who want to be away from the mess in central Kamari but still be close enough. Another plus is the rates which are much better for more central hotels in Kamari which are actually not as good as Avra Hotel!

Lovely small hotel with relaxed atmosphere among the grape vines and beautiful gardens. All staff were friendly and helpful especially Spiridoula on reception. The pool area, room and reception area were spotlessly clean and the breakfast, which could be taken inside or on the outside veranda good. The location was quiet but only a very short distance from the beach and numerous tavernas on the beach front.

This is a great hotel for those who want somewhere a little outside the busier areas of Kamari but still have good access into town and the beach front/restaurants. The owners are friendly and the hotel is clean. The pool area is very welcome especially during the hotter months. For those who want cheaper accommodation (b&b) then this clean and friendly hotel is the perfect option.

We stayed at this hotel in September and Manolis could not have been more helpful. Our garden room was very spacious and looked out over very well kept gardens which were very peacefull to sit in.There was a very good pool, although we prefer the beach. The breakfast was very good, cereal, fruit, greek yoghurt & honey, ham & cheese + bread, jams etc.juices, tea & coffee. The hotel and surrounding area was spotless. The beach was only a 2 minute walk away and was blocked off to traffic at night. You will need plastic shoes for the beach and sea as it is made up of small pieces of volcanic rocks and pebbles. We enjoyed all meals at the local tavernas.Manolis booked at trip to the sunset at Oia for us and gave us local information about places of interest. You can take a taxi boat round the headland to the resort of Perissa. We have never encountered so many different nationalities at this resort, all very friendly. We can highly recommend this hotel and resort to couples and families.

We stayed at the Avra hotel for two weeks and had a great holiday. The hotel is very
clean and is in an ideal location just a short walk to the sea front.Rooms are cleaned
every day with clean towels and bed linen changed every other day.The lady cleaner
was the best weve ever had in greece The breakfast is continental and you just help
yourself.Tea coffee juice bread jams cheese ham toastbread cake biscuits cereals
peach slices greek yoghurt and honey.Manolis is allways is about ready to offer any help
you need.Safe deposit boxes are in your room and cost one euro per day.It is run by a
lovely greek family and the gardens are very nice and well maintained. We will return at
sometime in the future when we revisit Santorini.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Avra and can't recommend it highly enough, it's a clean comfortable hotel with a nice sized pool to lounge around. Manolis was a great help with advice and sorting any issues out, you can tell its a family run hotel because they take care with their guests who stay with them, we would stay there again ! it was our first visit to Santorini and The Avra and Kamari was a great base to see the sights on the island. It was close to the beach shops and restaurants, great choice of restaurants !

We stayed at the Avra for the last week of September. It is a loveley, clean hotel in a quiet area of Kamari, with the beach and the main strip for restaurants, clubs and bars only a short walk down the road. It has a nice pool, perfect to unwind from a busy day at the beach or touring the island. The rooms (we stayed in 24) are clean and neat, with TV (we never used), a fridge and a small but clean bathroom (shower/wc).We had a balcony overlooking the pool towards Fira, which was great for a glass of wine in the evening to see the day out. What really made the hotel stay worthwile (and earned the extra stars in the rating) are the owners, never too busy to help or give friendly advise. "No stress" was our plan for the holidays, and this is what we found, wonderful. Santorini is yours to explore from here, it could not be easier with the bus stop to Fira and Oia close by, or rent a quad bike, moped or car at the hotel. Easy peasy.
