This family tavern is situated right at the bottom of Mount Thera, as you start to walk up the really steep hill. Enjoy your walk up to the top and then sit down in this very friendly tavern on your way down - you won't be sorry.
We had lunch there 4 times during our two week vacation and we rarely go back to the same place twice, so that tells you how much we enjoyed it.
We had Dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) for starters and I think they were the best on the Island, along with a Greek salad, which had grated Feta cheese instead of just a piece of cheese, which I prefer.
I ordered the Cod in a garlic dip which really was to die for, and my husband had the Gyros which was also much better than a lot of other places.
After we asked for the bill, we were given a free dessert, a dfferent one every time we went, and on my husband's birthday they surprised us by lighting candles for him and singing to him. It was such a nice thing to do and we really touched.
The whole thing came to 30 Euro which included two beers and Ouzo.
Definitely worth a visit.
Thanks to the Danas Family for making us feel special
